Update August 27

Today we have another update related to the VMT project and our first asset in it, the viral football site.

We are happy to announce that we have completed a lot of the remaining items the last weeks, and today we’re going to give an overview of that along with the few remaining items.

Let’s get started!

Move To Our Main Server

During the initial development phase, the site was on a small server which was only suited to get the site live for development.

Right now the site has been moved completely to its final destination, our powerful in-house server which can easily handle millions of visitors every day.

This will be much needed once we start inviting football fans to support their team, and this item is completed.

Adding Scores Of Fan Competition

The most exciting feature of the platform will undoubtedly be the fan competition. It allows us to measure fan performance to create an alternative competition for football fans that runs parallel with real games being played.



These scores now update every 5 minutes so votes will appear close after they have been cast by fans.

We also added a direct link to the games’ individual page for easy navigation in case you want to vote on a particular game.

Ultra-Score

If you click the dropdown, You’ll see your Ultra-Score. The more matches you vote on, the higher your Ultra-Score will be.



The Ultra-Score is calculated on a weekly basis and increases with 1 whenever you vote on 10 games. So if you vote on 100 games, your Ultra-Score will be 10.

The Ultra-Score is important for 3 things at the moment:
  • Higher Points – If your Ultra-Score increases, so will the points that are awarded to the teams you vote on. An Ultra-Score of 5 will award 5 points, an Ultra-Score of 10 will award 10 points, etc.
  • Share Videos – You need an Ultra-Score of 10 to enable sharing of videos in your team’s channel.
  • Ultras Tab – We have added an extra tab in the fan competition ranking tables, and this will show the number of ultras every team has. If your Ultra-Score is 10 or higher, you will be marked as an ultra in this tab (this still needs to update but will be added shortly).



The Ultra-Score is an important feature to get engagement levels high. It will not only allow users to get extra benefits, it will also increase the number of votes on the site. The more ultras a team has, the more chances the team has to win games.

Sharing Videos

Along with the feature to allow sharing of videos for members with an Ultra-Score of 10 or higher, we are working on a feature to by-pass the Youtube API limits.

This mostly revolves around using the embed code instead of using Youtube’s API when sharing video links.

Once this feature is completed, we will enable the sharing of videos to make the content on the site user-generated and increase the number of videos every channel has.

Improved Registration Form

Initially, the registration form contained all teams listed on the site in one big list, making it very hard to find your favorite team.

We have improved this making it very easy to find all clubs listed on the site by adding extra fields for country, league and team:



This was a much-needed improvement to make the registration process for football fans as easy as possible and is now completed.

Adding Real Scores And Info

While we don’t intend to directly compete with the established live score websites such as Livescore or Flashscore, we did already add an extra feature and integrated live score of real games to the platform, along with basic match info such as the minutes played so far and whether or not the game is finished.



As for now, we mainly see this as a bonus and gives the platform an extra dimension as fans can see who won the real game and who won the fan game.

But as mentioned, our core feature is the fan competition and that will be our main USP when inviting football fans to the site.

Ultimately, we can sign up for a more powerful api to collect more data and get at the same level as established live score sites.

Ranking Tables For Fan Competition

Apart from the Ultras tab (which isn’t updating yet but will be soon), all other tabs are now updating based on data collected from the site.



As you can see, the ranking tables are determined by points being awarded for winning games in our fan competition, just as how ranking tables of the real competitions are determined.

Just as how fans can already compare scores of real games and scores in our fan competition, ranking tables of real competitions will be added below the ranking table of our fan competition.

This will allow fans to compare real tables and fan tables, adding another dimension to the platform.

Adding real ranking tables is currently being worked on by the team and will be added to the platform shortly.

Invitation To Continue Voting

As we are collecting more data from votes being cast during the development phase, we are perfecting our system of the fan competition, our core feature.

That’s why we are still rewarding people who help us with this through our bounty campaign here.

The more data we are able to collect, the faster we can perfect our in-house competition, so all help is welcome and we thank you in advance.

Preparation Of Bounty Campaign

As we are completing the final items on our list (7 out of 10 completed), we already want to give a heads up that the preparation of the main bounty campaign will start next week.

We are doing a couple of things at once at the moment namely:
  • Final check of all leagues/teams
  • Final check if all teams are api-connected
  • Pre-preparation of our main bounty campaign
Next week we’ll post another update with more info on the main bounty campaign.

At the same time, we’ll open up a suggestion box so that apart from our own final checks, we’ll be able to collect info on final bugs and suggestions so we can iron these out before the main promo campaign starts.

Conclusion

We are very happy with the progress we have made the last couple of weeks. We are working now on the final items and only a couple are left, while at the same time we are ensuring all leagues have the correct teams and the teams listed on the platform are connected to the api service we are using.

At the same time, we have received a lot of positive feedback about our concept from real football fans, who can’t wait to invite their friends to the site to vote for their favorite club.

There are nearly 2000 clubs listed on the site already, and each club has 100’s, if not 1000’s of fans who will have the same feeling.

At the same time, we have a solid promotion campaign planned that will allow us to reach the core supporters of every club listed.

This in combination with the viral setup of the platform and focus on high retention rates will ensure we will be able to grow the platform very fast.

We look forward to make it happen and start the VMT buyback/burn and profit share distribution using ad revenue from the first asset in the Viral Media Network!

  • Email Notifications – In order to keep retention rates high, we are adding a feature to send out a notification for two events, namely when new videos are added to their team’s channel and when a game has ended and a new one begins so a new voting round begins and fans can check the result of the latest game.
  • Additional Ad Spots – We have been approved by a major native ad network, and will add native ads inside the tabs on Tifoscore. This will significantly increase the ad revenue the site generates once promos start and football fans start joining the site.
  • Adding Videos – We decided to make a separation of fan videos and general videos of every club listed on Tifoscore. This is just a small extra feature but will allow fans to share any video related to their club such as match reviews, interviews etc. This will give an extra dimension to the platform as just about any football-related video can be shared on Tifoscore then. Only fan videos will be used for the competition though.
Our devs are working non-stop to complete these features asap (and they are in the final phase already, so we can get started with the final bug testing phase and launch our main promo campaign. At the same time, we are double-checking all leagues to ensure every competition runs parallel with real games being played.

Today we have an exciting update regarding the first asset in the Viral Media Network, the viral football site.

We are happy to announce that we have completed all remaining items of new features mentioned in the previous update. These are:
  • Real ranking tables – This will allow users to compare real rankings with rankings in the fan competition.
  • Email notifications – An email will be sent out once a day when new videos are posted in your team’s channel, and when a game has ended so you can check out the score and vote on the new game.
  • Additional ad spots in tabs – This allows us to also add ads when scrolling down in the tabs.
  • Option to add general videos – This allows users to add both fan videos and general videos (match reviews, interviews, news about the club etc.) to their team’s channel.
This means that our next efforts will be focused solely on setting up the site to get ready to attract our target audience, the 4 billion football fans worldwide.

At the same time, we’ll optimize existing features in order to launch the Super-Ultra offer which will allow us to quickly scale the VMT buyback and burn program along with profit distribution to people holding VMT’s on Buzzex.

This update will provide a clear view of how we’ll do this and what we have planned for after the promos start.

The Super-Ultra Offer

We already mentioned that along with advertising, one of the main income streams of Tifoscore will be an upgrade offer, allowing members to get some cool extra features on the platform. If we look at other successful business models, this will be a combination of in-game purchases, which is the driving revenue model of many games, and the freemium model, allowing paid members to get additional features.

  • Get Super-Ultra Badge – When commenting on videos, other members will see your status as a Super-Ultra.
  • Increase Super-Ultras in ranking tables (extra tab) – We will add an extra tab in the fan competition ranking table which will show how many Super-Ultras a team has.
The payment gateway (using Paypal) has already been integrated into the platform, and all features mentioned above are part of the optimization phase and require simple tweaks to existing features.

In other words, it makes sense to launch the offer already instead of waiting for several months, as it will allow us to use part of the profits to buy a lot more VMT’s from the market!

Patreon For Football Fans

In order to justify the subscription model, we need to create something extra. After all 10,000 spots to become a lifelong Super-Ultra are sold, the fee will be $9 per month.

Marketing

Another crucial benefit is the fact that video creators already have a huge following on Youtube and will start inviting their followers to Tifoscore.

This has worked extremely well for Patreon as Youtubers started promoting their Patreon page in video descriptions and comments:

Private Videos

Finally, to clarify the set up a little more, Videos on Patreon are still hosted on Youtube. The only requirement is that they need to set videos to private and add the domain so the private videos will be displayed on Tifsocore.

This will make it very easy to integrate this private section for Super-Ultras on the platform, allowing us to activate these two extremely important benefits fast.

During the development, we will create a landing page for video creators and start inviting them to become creators on the Tifoscore platform so we can roll out the feature with exclusive videos present.

I think it’s clear we are setting up something amazing here. From a simple idea to create a platform that football fans will enjoy using, we are now ready to set up the site to get ready for promotion.

Final Sprint Towards Promo Campaigns And VMT Buyback/Burn/Profit Share

We are in a crucial phase of our project. It’s a phase we have been working on for many years and have never really achieved. It’s a phase in which we will deliver a fully working product and directly promote it to the real target audience.

If you have stuck with the project so long with all the ups and downs that come with the struggle to build a project that will benefit thousands of people, then congratulations and a big thank you from the entire team.

That being said, even though our confidence level is at an all-time high, we still need to keep on working diligently to make all the effort we have done the past couple of months to come to fruition.

In this update, You’ll learn more about the process of getting the first asset in the Viral Media Network, the viral football site, completely ready and finally start the buyback, burn and profit share everybody has been waiting for.

Football Site Concept

Tifoscore is the first asset in the Viral Media Network. In case you are unaware of how it works, let’s make a quick recap of the concept and how we’ll be able to attract millions of football fans worldwide to it.

The idea is simple: While real football games are being played, another competition is taking place in the stands. While supporting their club with a passion you only see in football stadiums, football fans also want to prove they are better than the fans of their opponents.

At the moment, the only way football fans can prove their worth is by uploading videos to Youtube and have metrics scattered all over without a way to really measure who has the best fans.

With a simple voting mechanism we have created a football fan league that runs parallel with real games being played:



Just as real competitions, the football fan league has its own ranking tables based on the points scored during the voting games:



The site is set up in such a way that it will go viral fast and have high engagement:
  • More fans voting = higher chance to win, so fans will be eager to share the games with their friends.
  • More voting = more points so fans will also vote on other games in order to increase their Ultra-Score which determines the weight of every vote.
  • More quality videos shared = a higher chance to win, which will ensure the content of the site is just about 100% user-generated.

The concept is simple to understand, it’s engaging and from initial reactions of real football fans, will become a huge success.

One example is from a fan that wanted to apply to become an ambassador and explained clearly why the concept of the platform will go viral fast:

Final Developments

As you probably noticed, Tifoscore has undergone a major change due to the continuous efforts of our developers to create an amazing platform.

It went from a simple live score site to looking pretty amazing like this:



We have gotten a good amount of feedback of people testing the site, and have narrowed down the final issues and optimizations to less than 10.

For the most part, these are simple fixes that still require our attention, and this means the platform will be in its final form, ready to be introduced to the world!

We are aware that the site has taken much longer to complete than expected, but then again, this gives us a much higher potential to make it a huge success. So we are fully convinced that this has been the right decision.

So to conclude, we are now in the final phase of optimizations and final bug fixing, and less than 10 crucial items are on our plate. Once these are finished, the site will be all ready to start the promo campaigns!

Promotion

With the platform nearly completed, we are also working hard to set up our marketing campaigns.

We have clearly explained that the site is set up in such a way that it’s bound to go viral. This doesn’t mean we don’t need initial engagement from football fans all over the world.

Our marketing efforts will consist of 4 things:

Ambassadors

We have received a great response so far for our ambassador program and will have a representative in just about any major league in the world.

The idea is simply that ambassadors will ask fellow fans in the forums of the clubs to share videos on Tifoscore and vote for the games in order for their team to win.

The aim is to make these threads evergreen so just about all forum members will see them, bringing in the initial fans needed for the viral set up to kick off.

Exclusive Referral Program

We have created a simple referral feature inside Tifoscore, aiming to reward the people that create the football fan videos.

This will allow to promote Tifoscore just as how Patreon users create their Patreon account as seen here:



In return, they will earn some extra money from uploading videos to Youtube.

The moment the promos start, we will create an outreach campaign and simply contact all video creators with the question if they want to earn a little extra from their channel by promoting Tifoscore.

Conversion rates are expected to be high since they don’t need to beg their followers for money, but rather ask ther followers (who are mostly supporters of their club) to vote for their club on Tifoscore, making it a low barrier to get started.

General Outreach Campaign

At the same time, we have planned a massive outreach campaign and will target so-called “influencers.” These are mostly hobbyists who have created a social media account about their passion (football) and have built a following.

To them, we’ll simply ask if they want to share the latest game with their followers so their favorite club can win the game.

The barrier is again really low as these people are extremely passionate about their club and will be most than willing to help out (you already saw the reaction of that one fan right?). We will use an automation tool for this in order to contact thousands of influencers daily with a personalized message.

Considering that one tweet or facebook share from a source like this can bring in 100’s or even 1000’s of fans who will vote for their favorite club on a weekly basis, and the fact that there are probably millions of influencers to contact, this is guaranteed to bring in the desired result to exponentially grow the Tifoscore user-base.

And best of all, this is also an evergreen promo method!

Buyback / Burn / Profit Share

The platform will have 3 main sources of income:
  • Advertising
  • Affiliate links
  • Super-Ultra Offer
Part of all these income streams will be used to buy VMT’s from the market. 50% of those VMT’s will be burned and the other 50% will be evenly distributed to users holding VMT’s on Buzzex.



While ad revenue and targeted affiliate links already provide a consistent income source for any platform, we have decided to instantly make the Super-Ultra offer a small monthly fee of $9 to get additional perks on the platform.

This simply means that we will be able to consistently grow the Dollar amount we can use to buy VMT’s off the market, as well as have a clear defined monthly budget for general expenses of the project.

In other words, we want to create a solid buyback campaign that continuously grows over time and feel that a subscription product is the way to go from day 1.

How much we’ll be able to buy back on a daily basis will be communicated frequently when we have the numbers ready, which will be pretty soon after the promos start.

The concept remains as solid as can be:
  • Evergreen burning of 50% of VMT’s bought every day
  • Evergreen distribution of other 50% to VMT holders

Conclusion

I want to end this update with a personal note.

With the start of the promo campaign of the platform we have been working on until our eyes were bleeding (literally) the last couple of months around the corner, my wife told me something interesting this week.

She said that she has been praying for the project to succeed, not just for us, but also for the people that have continuously supported us throughout this long period so we can make it all worthwhile.

Thinking back on things, it’s clear that this has always been the major driving force to continue until success is achieved.

Have we made a lot of mistakes? Sure, shoot me.

Have things gone the way we want to? Obviously not.

Is this project dead? It has never been more alive!

So in retrospect, what we have learned is that the adversity that came along was needed, and because of that, we are now in this position to have such a high chance of succeeding.

Regardless, we are not there yet and understand we still need to continue to work as hard as we have done so far to make things work, and that’s exactly what we’ll do.
