Gambling discussion / Re: Is Gambling for All?
« on: March 11, 2024, 02:49:40 PM »
In my country, anyone above 18 years has the legal right to gamble but I think that people with the inability to control emotions or who have been diagnosed with high BP should be prohibited from gambling because gambling affects emotions and a person with high BP might easily have a crisis because of shock from losing in gambling. Losing is indispensable and so, individuals who cannot control their emotions should stay clear.
I think thats the general age for the restrictions of gambling although, in sone countries it's 21 and above. It's a good thing that they gave legal right to people that are +18, talking about depression and mental health issues, imagine If kids where allowed to gamble, a good percentage of them would had died from depression, cause they won't be able to control their emotions like the adults would, when they lose huge money to the house.
Also 18+ is a working age for most countries, and i think it would be bad for people below that age to be allowed to participate in gambling, cause lots of kids that could not afford the money or got source of income to fund their betting habbits could turn into steal funds from parents or others to gambling, which is not good to the society, it could promote high rate of theft and criminal activíties by those kids.
Lastly, i thnk you'r right when you mentioned that people with  BP pressure issues shouldn’t be allowe to participate in gambling, so as not to endanger themselves when they lose funds, but the question is how would casino's figure out those people with  such issues?

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Don't buy bitcoin only because of FOMO
« on: March 11, 2024, 02:17:05 PM »

I would like to add to the above. Most people make a banal (but widespread mistake), listening to whom they should and should not listen to. There is a saying for a reason: "Greed breeds, even more Fomo". If you haven't bought an asset, you'd better wait (for yourself set prices). Rather than buying here/now without understanding why and for what.

P.S. As one option. Observe from the outside, and then draw conclusions for yourself. And if you have already decided to buy an asset + don't buy for the entire % deposit also try to keep risk management to a minimum.
Well greed could also lead to fomo but in that situation I won't really say it's greed but lack of understanding about the halving and how the market works, because some who was able to invest in bitcoin when the price was about 40k and above and made a lot of profit when it reaches 69k should be aware of the upcoming halving and instead of takinng profit, I expect such person to wait for a retrace and buy more so as to gain more in the halving.
However the person decided to take profit at 69k, it shows that they don't got a good knowledge about the halving  or are ot aware that BTC is at it's bull season, if only the person had waited a little bit till today, then they would've made more profit now bitcoin has set another ATH currently above 70k, right now I think such person would be regretting their actions and If he/she is wise enough they should wait for a trace and acquire more Bitcoins cause there's a potential of it reaching 100k plus in this upcoming halving.

There's a certain stage one would get to in life and some kind of activity won't be carried out again. It works same for everyone unless there's an addiction to the act. Addictiveness is dangerous as in terms of gambling, yes, there'll be trials and errors and times for wins and losses but if after a period of time, rich or not, one doesn't learn to curtail the act, it only means that there and then, there's an addiction to it.
There's been times where after so many trials and losses, finally, gamble pays huge, for some certain people, that'll be the end of their gambling quest as they've achieved what they've been scouting for and for some, greed sets in and they end up putting back the extra wealth gathered to risk the chance of it multiplying and in 9 out of 10chances, an extra loss is incurred. It's not so right to gamble but if you have to gamble, there should be responsibility to it. Too much of everything is not good as they'd say.

« on: February 01, 2024, 09:03:50 AM »
As e be like this, e dey very certain say our cost of living go increase by another 50% by the end of this year. The whole economic situation currently no even dey favour the citizens. If we continue to say lament, e no go fit still change anything. Back in the years wey dollar been dey at 100naira rate, life been sweet for us. The standard of living then and now get better difference. The whole situation just turn worse as the years kept going by.
In the last regime, even though dollar rate been dey fluctuate, at least at the end of the tenure, e been dey at 700naira rate but wetin we go fit say currently. Less than a year into someone's administration, we dey experience a 100% rise in the rate of dollar, Naija which way? This tenure dey like wetin go last for 8years. E dey very risky to even imagine life at this time next year sef because omor e go too choke. How we wan rescue ourselves from this situation wey we use our hand out ourselves.

Gambling discussion / Re: offline and online gambling which is best?
« on: January 19, 2024, 09:28:31 AM »
Gambling has now become an activity of public interest. It's a fact that the intensity has increased unlike before when people weren't so concerned about it. Currently, after every income earned and a plan is set as to how the expenses would seem, there's always a percentage allocated to gambling. Even if the consequences of the act is preached unendingly, there's just this money doubling or expansion zeal in people.
It started off offline with just less people so into it, the advancement came and now it's easier done online, which even beckons more people to give it a try. Surprisingly, both genders are involved in it and the rate at which people fall into the act increases rapidly. It's very much easy to understand online too. Yes there's always a disclaimer on the age brackets to be involved in it but at the moment, I believe there's no restriction, most people do it online and definitely there's no room to predict if the gambler is unqualified in terms of age.

A good decision they've made so far because I was beginning to wonder if they really had the right vision for a digital world we're speedily driving into. It really would have been bad that the development would spread across and just because the country corrupt practices is inert, the development in the digital economy sector will be out in hold for us.
One would think maybe they just discovered another means of benefits in the crypto market which is why they lifted the ban but which ever way, it works right for both the corrupt minded government and the investment minded citizens. Crypto is one field that helped a whole lot of Nigerian youths out of the primitive era and space into the growing digital environment. There's an envisioned growth and widespread on the way and it's only best that no one is restricted into taking the bold step to join the trend to avoid being caught up in a web of lost wishes too.

Off topic & Sports / Re: How to survive in January on a low budget.

Economics , Sociology & Politics / Re: Economic plan
« on: January 05, 2024, 12:58:17 PM »
At this point in time, economic journeys of previous years would be judged and weighed according to its progression and regression too. No sane people would want a decline again after what has been experienced in previous years. Rather, there should be a search for improvement in lacking areas. The economy hasn't been favourable due to a number of known issues in the general world setting.
Truth is the derailing economic state experienced towards the end of 2023 wasn't just effected on a particular set of people, twas global and nations had to begin quest for innovative ways out of the decline. The year is just beginning and so every nation definitely has her own economic goal which would be watched closely in a time frame, at its best quarterly. This beginning period of the year is the time to set the right grounds for the year as it's the determinant to 75% of how the economy would be at the end. Every nation and her people have to set the right grounds.

Nigerian Languages / Naija which way
« on: January 03, 2024, 05:46:15 PM »
Rumour wey dey currently be say petroleum product stakeholders and traders don dey peg petrol price to 1.2k naira per liter. Omor, e reach to shout because once we reach that point of sale of petrol at that price, na just a step further into more hardship, food and transport crisis too. For naija wey be say once price go up, then no hope for coming down again.
Currently, see transportation cost wey don dey drive reach 40k from the west to east, imagine the cost when petrol price reach that rumoured amount. There'll definitely be hike in everything, even cost of food because to transport the food sef go dey expensive. Now of all the promises made, which one has been kept. We just dey in a jeopardize state, we can't do anything else beyond lamenting for, dreaming and imagining a better naija sha.

Gambling discussion / Re: Don't gamble with your full money.
« on: January 03, 2024, 05:39:30 PM »
The courage people have trying to gamble with all the funds they've got is fascinating. How will you put all your eggs in one basket. Well I won't blame them, the reason behind the scrutinous act is not beyond greed. Gamble normally is an activity with so much risk factors and a normal person who knows and understands this will not go ahead to act greedy to it. It can be a fun activity until loss is incurred, then there'd be a room of seriousness.
Gambling can either be profitable or not, it all should be expected, you can't always keep winning. Yes, sometimes one would try to compare himself with someone who stakes more huge amount of money and then wins huger forgetting that the said person didn't start differently from how they're now. It's a process, even if we start gaining big from it, we should be mindful not to let greed come into our heads because that then would be the start of our big losses.
