I don't think so its 100% safe but we have no choice we have to use exchanges if we want to sell our coins. I transfer my coins to exchanges only when I want to sell otherwise I save my coins in Hardware wallet(Trezor). In the recent time binance also hacked so I feel no exchange is safe. Still I have trust on bittrex it is quite secured than other exchanges. Transaction fee you have to pay every time when you transact even you can check manually which exchange is taking less fee.

Well, you explain very well and appreciate you participate in this thread. Exchanges have a lot of problems include security, privacy, heavy fees, etc . so basically they are like a middle man. Crypto exchanges cannot be fully 100% secured. There must be flaws in one way or the other, that is why it is been adviced not to leave your coins in the exchange platform. The crypto exchange is the most secured and well used place for different crypto exchange, except the direct contact exchange.

It is no news again that cypto exchanges can be hacked. Several crypto exchanges have been hacked in recent times even the so-called Binance was hacked, it means exchanges are not totally secure though they are doing their best to protect their customers but we must be consciuos of the fact that exchanges can be hack.

Meanwhile, I think crypto exchanges is the worst way of exchanging because they could hack as we can see past hacking attacks on exchanges and many time ppl lost their millions of dollars due to these exchanges. Technically, DEXes are secured. They're much safer than any CEX out there. Truth is there were a lot of hacks relating to CEXes in the past. Even Binance - the world's most reliable CEX still got hack a couple of weeks ago. Meanwhile, there's was no hack relating to DEXes according to my knowledge. I agree with you, DEX is probably safer, but trading volumes are still inferior to trading volumes on CEX, so they are not so popular among traders, but I think that it is only a matter of time and in the near future DEX will become more popular.
