if the CEOs are just unknown and the website host is offshore i think the SEC will have no way of reaching out someone that is unknown and so they will not be able to sue the CEO nor the owner.

Yeah, but they can easily crack it down, just like what happened to these shut mixers in the past for the reason of being accused of money laundering regardless if the site is in clearnet or darknet.
For its lawsuit it will take months or years of session in the court, since the owner wants to fight.

But ye, for a decentralized platform, it could be the very best thing to do is to be anonymous as the owner to prevent getting a lawsuit just like Satoshi did.

Thanks for the reminder, i totally forget that. But unlike Etherdelta case, Uniswap is more popular and Uniswap Labs have decent funding and should able to hire decent lawyer/legal team. So there should be possibility they can repel SEC's sue attempt.

Their lawyers and funding can drag this out but I still think it's going to be a waste of money. Best scenario for them is probably to agree to a settlement deal. Even if we don't know all the details, it's impossible that Uniswap never allowed US citizens to use their platform but, yeah, it's up to the SEC to prove that.

It's hard to imagine SEC would agree to settlement deal which allows Uniswap Labs continue to develop Uniswap without introducing more centralization or even enforcing AML/KYC. But i still wish Uniswap Labs would trying to win this one, since it'll make SEC have harder time to crack down cryptocurrency development or software in the future.

Unfortunately, I think that's one of the things that could happen, that the SEC "forces" uniSwap to perform KYC on users if they want to continue providing the service like now. This case reminds me of Ripple and how long the whole process takes, but I hope that UniSwap can defend itself and they can continue operating as before, although it is difficult when the SEC is looking for a new "target". The AML laws are very clear and strict, so I find it difficult for them to reach any type of agreement, and I doubt that UniSwap will stop providing services to the citizens of the United States.

I don't think this will hamper Uniswap unless there's already a factor with the outcome of the case if it were to have been. This would affect the market like with the coin price of UNI but it's not in regards to the actual functionality of it. For the SEC to do its job, I bet that it should focus on other companies that would be more likely to lose user funds, and Uniswap isn't one of it IMO. The SEC can have this case escalated but the outcome will be questionable.

1. Ofcourse it will affect the standing of Uniswap in the market as if things are not that serious then the team of Uniswap would not react the way it reacted now. I mean they are calling SEC Abusive. As they are misusing their power. IMO these are big words and it indicates the seriousness of the case.
2. Hmm, I think yeah, they are making sure that the platforms not following the rules and regulations, must follow, and IMO they are only targeting those who must have disobeyed some rules which according to them might not be so serious but I guess SEC is on a mission to make 10 billion or 100 billion in fine from these crypto platforms.
3. Who knows, I guess even the worker in SEC won't know that. Let's hope for the best of all of us.

To be fair there are limited amount of stuff Uniswap labs could help SEC with uniswap. Remember, its a dex and that means its going to be decentralized and not going to have like some server filled with names or something, or any KYC etc. Which means that uniswap could share everything they have but that will not really help SEC in the end, that's going to be the most important difference. I believe that we are not going to see anything major changing for SEC, they will keep chasing but will not get anywhere. Thats of course just an assumption on what they are trying to look into.
