অস্থিরতা চলছে বিটকয়েন নিয়ে। ক্রিপ্টোকারেন্সি বিষয়ে চীনের কঠোর অবস্থানের পরপরই একাধিক বড় ক্রিপ্টোকারেন্সি মাইনিং প্রতিষ্ঠান চীনে কার্যক্রম বন্ধ করে দিয়েছে। লেনদেন বন্ধ থাকায় পড়ে গেছে বিটকয়েনের দাম। রোববার বিটকয়েনের মূল্য এই বছরের সর্বোচ্চ মূল্যের অর্ধেকে এসে ঠেকেছে।

রোববার বেলাশেষে বিটকয়েনের মূল্য শতকরা ১৩ ভাগ পড়ে যায়। গ্রিনউইচ মান সময় সন্ধ্যা ৬ টায় বিটকয়েনের মূল্য ৩২ হাজার ৬০১ ডলারে নেমে আসে। এক দিনেই বিটকয়েনের মূল্য পড়ে যায় প্রায় ৪৯০০ ডলার। এর ফলে বিটকয়েনের দাম এ বছর ১৪ এপ্রিলে রেকর্ড মূল্য ৬৪ হাজার ৮৯৫.২২ ডলারের অর্ধেকে এসে দাঁড়ায় বলে প্রতিবেদনে জানিয়েছে রয়টার্স।

ইথেরিয়াম ব্লকচেইন নেটওয়ার্কের সঙ্গে যুক্ত মুদ্রা ‘ইথার’ রোববার শতকরা ১৭ ভাগ কমে এক হাজার নয়শ' পাঁচ  ডলারে নেমে আসে।  আগের দিন লেনদেন বন্ধ হওয়ার সময় থেকে এর মূল্যপতন ঘটেছে ৩৯১.৩১ মার্কিন ডলারের।

বিটকয়েন এক্সচেঞ্চ সপ্তাহে সাত দিনই ২৪ ঘণ্টা চলে। এর ফলে, অপ্রত্যাশিত সময়ে এই মূদ্রার মূল্য পরিবর্তনের ঝুঁকি থেকেই যায়।

শনিবার প্রকাশিত একটি গবেষণা নোটে আরবিসি ক্যাপিটাল মার্কেটসের এমি উ সিলভারম্যান লিখেছেন, "অনেকে বিটকয়েনের অস্থিরতাকে সমর্থনযোগ্য নয় বলে উল্লেখ করেন। সত্যিই, বিটকয়েন (মূল্যের বেলায়) আচমকা দুর্দান্ত সব সুইং তৈরি করে।"

গত সপ্তাহেই একাধিক ধাক্কা লেগেছে বিটকয়েনের গায়ে, বিশেষ করে টেসলা সিইও ও বিলিয়নেয়ার ইলন মাস্কের বেশ কয়েকটি টুইটের পর বিটকয়েন চাপের মধ্যে ছিল। টেসলা গাড়ির মূল্য বিটকয়েনে দেওয়া যাবে ফেব্রুয়ারিতে এমন ঘোষণার পর মে মাসে ওই অবস্থান থেকে সরে আসে টেসলা।

এরই মধ্যে চীন শুক্রবার ‘অনুমান নির্ভর এবং আর্থিক ঝুঁকি'র কারণ দেখিয়ে ক্রিপ্টোকারেন্সি মাইনিং এবং ট্রেডিং বন্ধ করে দেয়। চীন বিশ্বে ক্রিপ্টোকারেন্সি মাইনিংয়ে শীর্ষস্থানীয় দেশ।

চীনের আর্থিক স্থিতিশীলতা ও উন্নয়ন কমিটি বিটকয়েনকে আরও নিয়ন্ত্রণের জন্য চিহ্নিত করেছে। দেশটির ভাইস প্রিমিয়ার এবং অর্থনীতিবিদ লিউ হি ওই কমিটির নেতৃত্বে আছেন। ক্রিপ্টো-সম্পর্কিত পরিষেবা প্রদানকারী ব্যাংক এবং পেমেন্ট প্রতিষ্ঠানের উপর চীনা সরকারী তিনটি চীনা শিল্প নিয়ন্ত্রন কর্তৃপক্ষের নিষেধাজ্ঞা আরোপ করার কয়েক দিন পরই এই বিবৃতিটি এলো।

ক্রিপ্টোর বিরুদ্ধে চীনের সর্বশেষ প্রচারণার পরপরই বৃহস্পতিবার মার্কিন ট্রেজারি বিভাগ নতুন নিয়ম করার আহ্বান জানিয়েছে। ওই প্রস্তাবনায় বলা হয়েছে, বড় অঙ্কের ক্রিপ্টোকারেন্সি লেনদেনের বেলায় দেশটির রাজস্ব বিভাগকে জানাতে হবে। পাশাপাশি দেশের অর্থনৈতিক স্থিতিশীলতার ওপর ক্রিপ্টোকারেন্সির ঝুঁকির বিষয়টি জানিয়েছে মার্কিন ট্রেজারি বিভাগ।
