What to do about users like this?

Hello everyone, While browsing the forum today I came across this PROFILE and noticed he was posting in the wrong section. He is posting what looks like AI or chat GPT content in the referral link section. He is the 2nd user I have seen that from in the past week.

If it was 1 post I would just report it and move on but this person is making multiple posts per day.

So should we message this user and ask them to pay attention to where they are posting? Just report them and let staff handle it? Give -karma? Post in their thread in hopes they read it?

The user is a newbie but has 14 pages of posts, and I have not looked through all 14 pages, but I would say they are aware of what they are doing. I don't want to discourage users from being here, but I don't think it's too much to ask for users to at least attempt to follow the rules.

I have checked that thread and I think the user is definitely using some kind of AI text generator. The user has received -8 Karma and that shows that others also find him annoying. I guess such users should be banned.

@yahoo62278 (or any user) when you see a situation like this again, you can simply send a PM to a moderator to move the thread to the appropriate subforum. As for that specific user, yesterday he received a strike, and seeing his way, he will soon receive the second. I stopped sending PMs to users who don't follow the forum rules a long time ago. 99% do not respond. If that user continues like this he will end up in "under review", after that he will only be able to contact the administrator or some moderator to try to recover his account.

Thanks, sent a pm to the moderator of that section. Hope the guy doesn't think i'm being a dick making the thread but I am not used to this forum yet and want to have a general idea of the protocol I should follow when situations happen.

This is a good report. Before I checked the link the thread has been deleted. And Freemind has said what came to my mind when I read the Op that when a user post in a wrong board, and we noticed it then it is to report to the moderator in that board to move the thread to the appropriate board since the forum has no feature yet for the author to move his or her own thread now. And giving the -Karma is not good for post in wrong board but if it is an AI post -Karma is good to warn him but how will the author know that it is because of the AI thread the -Karma was given to him when everything is hidden? These are some of the things we want to know.

It is indeed very confusing for members like that because the member repeats it over and over 14 times.
Certainly for Moderators it will also feel very tiring because they have to move or delete Spam posts like that several times.
I often see these posts, maybe in 2022-2021-2020 ... and I often report them to the Moderator, President, vice president or admin and the Admin answers and tells me to report it via the "Report" button so that the Moderator can clean it up.

BTW, I can't open the "profile link" you inserted, but I'm guessing the post is just spam.

It's not 14 posts, it's 14 pages of posts so roughly 210 - 280 posts. Not sure if we see 15 or 20 posts per page.

I think you have given the post link of that user instead of giving his profile link.
Anyway, the post was already deleted by the moderator. In my case, if I saw a user who is constantly doing the same thing just to increase the rank up, then I would not only report the report option, I would report by PMing the moderators. Because abuse of power is outside the rules  . Moreover here is also Reputation, Scams & Phishing board for reports this kinds of things.
On the other hand, if I see that the users in new and just mistake that once or two times, then I would have alerted him about his post by PM. And negative karma can be given as a little punishment in both cases.

Decentralized Team is a more appropriate section for most kind of reports. Moderators follow that section and respond if moderation is needed. So if you need to explain more than you can do in a report field, you can say it in the Decentralized Team section.

It's not 14 posts, it's 14 pages of posts so roughly 210 - 280 posts. Not sure if we see 15 or 20 posts per page.

Damnnn, Oh My God, this is more than I think, 280 posts is a lot and this post is definitely a spam post.
Moderators and Decentralized Teams should respond quickly to delete spam posts like that.
It's confirmed that this post is annoying for me, you and everyone from the altcoinstalks forum to see.

It seems that Yahoo has also reported it to the Moderator in the Reputation, Scams & Phishing subforum section, but Moderators are also humans who definitely have other jobs besides being active on the forum.
It may take some time for the Moderator to delete the Spam post.

It looks like you have done something to moderate the Spam of these posts, I'm sure you are also a member who responds quickly on the altcoinstalks forum.

I might ignore them, but that would not be a wise thing to do, so I will not give negative karma but report the post to the moderator and ask him to move it to the right section. I might not pm the member to correct his or her mistake. Because the moderator can do that in a much better way. Maybe by tagging him some batch from the spammer's list. Or maybe giving them a red tag instead of a green one.

So they could know they are doing something wrong in a repetitive way. I think you are overthinking this problem, because there is a possibility that this person is not a newbie but a person having multiple accounts and trying to do spam here, but even if he wants to make a post why would he make one in referral section while he can make that post in archival, or in any other section as well, that suits the best.

In my opinion, the best thing to do is to message the user first and tell him that what he is doing is not allowed so that he is aware, if he does not believe then you can take the second step of reporting him to the moderator or else he will be given negative karma.
