Title: What's your favorite type of altcoin?
Post by: dragononcrypto on December 22, 2020, 01:52:35 PM
What's your favorite type of altcoin category? Has it changed over the years?

I initially was very much into privacy coins early on, then peer-to-peer currencies more generally, and now more interested in smart contract / blockchain platforms as well as DeFi tokens than anything else. If I've missed out any relevant category, feel free to suggest and can add to the poll

I am beginning to get involved with some DeFi coins now but this is mainly because it is on the rage right now. In the past, I was into peer-to-peer type of cryptocurrency well because this was the hottest trend back then. Now, as a bounty hunter myself I usually got some coins and tokens that I really don't care what category they are in...as long as they can be valuable later and can be exchanged for Bitcoin or Eth then they must be for me. Right now, I am looking at PolkaDOT though I am not so sure on what category that platform can be...is it still peer-to-peer?

Nowadays most of the projects are available in decentralized finance and smart contracts based. First time P2P was more important and popular. But P2P again becoming more popular due to bitcoin halving.

there is no change at all because making changes every time is just confusing. it's better not to do anything first, especially after a few years of lethargy even though now it's getting better. I hope this improvement will continue until next year.

in fact, what we do is very humane, we will always make changes every time there is something renewable, because usually every new arrival is always a good start, but after experiencing a new journey for a few months there are shocks because of the many frauds that have occurred. so that we will get used to always changing our minds in taking action and looking for alternatives, even though these alternatives are not necessarily good from the old ones.

I chose peer to peer currecy and of course smart contracts.
I have seen the development of the two coins above, such as Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Ethereum and Binance which looks good for long-term investments, although Dogecoin is like a cute coin, many choose it for investment.
Stable money seems good for storing profits from trading, the more choice of altcoin types it will be easier for us to choose.

The market situation is much better overall. There is a lot of investment in decentralized tokens. This is because the price of most coins in the market is much higher. People's demand is constantly increasing. The demand for work and investment of people all over the world is increasing. So the condition of altcoins is always getting better.

My favorite type of altcoin are those that are backed by something, some kind of value. For example coins which have a price based on gold and the price of a coin is determined by the price of gold. There are several projects that have such a concept, and in my opinion it is not bad when the price is supported by something. It helps in stabilizing the price and provides in case of manipulation of it.

My choices were base on my personal needs, I need a stable coin as safe haven after my trading session was done, in old times I was using USDT but due to many issues that raise some red flags on USDT, I was convinced to pick another stable coin these time its the Binance USD or BUSD, Second is the Smart-contract utility coins/token which is obviously the Ethereum and If I was permitted to choose another altcoin in the third time I'll choose the exchange utility altcoin like Binance coin or BNB. especially now that BNB has a new added function that has compatibility with Ethereum and it is done through its Binance Smart Chain BSC.

Again I can't vote in the pool because there is no option that suites my needs.

My answer is I love and use them all but I can choose only two or none which in both situations is not the correct answer.

So it would be great to have an option "I like all of them" if there is "none of them" - won't you agree OP?

At present different altcoins are much better. Because it is increasing a lot. I think the price of every coin is going up a lot this year. Because I have been monitoring the market for a long time. I can see that the price of every coin is increasing. But I think DeFi tokens are the most important.

The hottest at the moment now I think was Defi, I just got remembered recently, there are some Defi coins that became trending months ago only. If I am not mistaken one of these is YFI where it has surpassed the price of bitcoin before it spikes in the market, but now YFI goes down in the market something like that.

what is clear is that bitcoin tokens show a tremendous increase and then start altcoins to follow, albeit a little late in anticipating it. clearly with bitcoin continuing to increase, altcoins are also encouraged.

I admit that the initial defi made quite an extraordinary surprise, but on the way it started many who were not good and did a lot of cheating, so that many defi projects were not finished, aka a scam. this leaves successful projects distracted by that action. I believe defi will be the same as IEO/ICO.

Stable coins aren't the right coins for investment or trading as well. If you plan to collect more stable coins, it is likely you want to quit the game. I don't know you want to quit temporarily or forever. But, I suggest you to not stop easily, there is much good news for crypto in the next year.

Decentralized Finance and Token exchange are safe tokens for me. Potential DeFi tokens and Token Exchange could  hit the moon.  :P

I  chose Staking and Exchange Coins.
I chose exchange coins because I love Bnb token. I use Binance for trading and BNB gave good profits and it allows me to trade with low fee. that is why I like Exchange coins. I don't know about other exchange's coins and tokens. but I like BNB.

2nd I chose Staking coins because they are easy to use and you can earn tokens for holding them. they always encourage me to hold them rather then dump them in market. these are my 2 picks.

For coins I think I really like coins that have a very limited supply of coins with a project that is developed by many people and can be one of the best solutions to an existing problem because usually it will increase demand and of course will have a good effect on coins that are development can be very expensive because of the high demand and we can get a lot of profit from that movement.

Aside from this, I was focus right now into exchange altcoins in the market depending on the coins I have now,
whether the exchange is good or not as long as I get the profit that's fine for me.

I think the favorite coin you are referring to is utility coin, utility coin is a good choice as long as the product is clear and widely used, but if the product owned by the project is not used by many people then the utility coin price tends to fall and the price is difficult to increase.
I agree more if you choose old coins like ethereum or litecoin.

Smart contracts.
With Smartcontracts, everything can be done so quickly for the creation of new tokens, expansion of the cryptocurrency business or the community.

Just look at the first market after the parent of cryptocurrency is Smart contracts (Ethereum).
In other words, Smart contracts are widely used by everyone who likes cryptocurrency and this is one of the main choices in my opinion.

Exchange coins

I chose a coin exchange since Binance coins have good trading volume and prices in the market, to date there are many Dex and Cex exchange projects that have coins to be used as trading fees on platforms or traded on other exchanges.
one of the popular tokens is UNI, then 1inch which has a good price when it is listed on the exchange. Until now I will look for tokens from instant exchanges or Dex for long term investment

ethereum is probably the best altcoin until now, because ethereum is very stable and always moves with bitcoin wherever it goes, only last year ethereum lagged behind. so that this year it is estimated that ethereum will reach its newest ATH.
It is true what you say that it is inappropriate that Ethereum is sold at a low price because we are sure that Ethereum will always be at the top.

yes, that's true but unfortunately usually ethereum always side by side with bitcoin in every step of the way, not for last year. Bitcoin is moving on its own and ethereum seems unable to keep up with bitcoin. in fact everyone hopes ethereum also follows bitcoin because it will have a big impact on all projects that are just starting out and will benefit the bounty.

Hopefully this year ethereum can realize what everyone wants because so that altcoins also move up and will have an impact on others, we are waiting for ethereum's actions that will have an impact on altcoins and bounties.

Agree with what you say, so far the only altcoin that has maintained high prices from year to year is Ethereum. With its presence as the king of all altcoins, it shows that Ethereum remains the best on the existing altcoin list.
