Майнинг / Донеси на майнера в Китае
« on: July 02, 2021, 10:16:22 PM »

Zcash Forum / Is Zcash worth to invest in it?
« on: October 18, 2018, 07:37:48 PM »
In my own opinion, Zcash has been overvalued, (considering that there have been privacy oriented altcoins before like Monero) and the fact that Zcash does not enforce anonymity by default (unlike Monero), it makes me wonder whenever Zcash would be a good investment or not.

If there is one thing that I don't like about Zcash, is the fact that it is behind a company, as well as having a sort of premine called Founder's reward, which seems kind of fishy to me.

Please let me know what do you think about this.

Cryptocurrency discussions / There is no need to panic.
« on: October 17, 2018, 09:56:52 PM »
The blockchain technology at this stage can be compared to the internet at its early stages, where mass adoption was also an issue. The internet was actually invented in 1969 but didn't get adopted until the 1990s, even then it wasn't accessible to everybody. But it has now become a necessity in every industry and for everybody worldwide.
The blockchain technology is at its infancy stage and it is already making innovations in different industries. Though there are a lot of restrictions against it presently and some nations do not want to adopt it, but it is not a technology that can be stopped and it will surely gain mass adoption with time.

What is your opinion about the blockchain technology?

Cryptocurrency discussions / What do you think about blockchain games?
« on: October 17, 2018, 09:51:34 PM »
Trading and bounties are a good way to earn. And recently I’ve discovered a new way to do that – dapps (I’m talking about games). I’m not that experienced in that field but it seems to be interesting.

What do you think about it? Have you ever tried to?

Cryptocurrency discussions / 333 ETH? a ponzi scheme?
« on: October 17, 2018, 09:47:08 PM »
Ethereum-based Decentralized  333ETH has been flagged as a possible ponzi scheme. The scheme promises a 3.33% daily interest and has gotten the attention of a lot of "investors'. That is quite high in my opinion, what is your opinion on this?Is this another 'bitconnect' kind of game that gave cryptos a bad name earlier this year?

Cryptocurrency discussions / What do you want from an ICO?
« on: October 17, 2018, 03:37:42 AM »
Having taken some time to look at a number of ICO's in depth, it looks to me that a large number of them may be marketers first and developers second. They all seem to be great at selling a vision or product but when you actually start to scratch beneath the surface, you start to notice that they promise the impossible, if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is. That's not to say that all ICOs are like that, there's a number of very well thought out and genuine ones.

So my question is, what do you want from an ICO with regards to its presentation and what they offer? Is having a working demo or MVP the most important? Is it all about the team or does that not matter if they've already demonstrated their competence? Do you want the ICO team to generate hype and "oversell" or would you rather a more honest and direct approach?

Cryptocurrency discussions / Hold your coins in multiple wallets
« on: October 17, 2018, 03:12:05 AM »
Hi,

I lost some coins this year (my own fault in Phising)
But if you send your coins to multiple wallets you can split your investments better.

When your wallet is hacked you only lose this wallet.
This is my lesson for the next time  ::) (and some other securities)

What do you do to secure your coins / tokens?

Bitcoin Forum / Bitcoin and global warming
« on: October 17, 2018, 03:09:44 AM »
I think our main problem is the huge electricity expense induced by mining and its noxious effect on the climate. This is, to my mind, the only serious argument against Bitcoin.
Alleviating the electricity expense should be one of our priorities. If we do not do it for the sake of the Earth (which we really should) we should at least do it selfishly because governments will not tolerate this forever and they will be right. The more the exchange rate increases, the worse it gets, of course.
Some solutions exist though: first there is proof-of-stake, of course. This technology may be too young to be deemed reliable enough but we should at least start considering it.
If we do not like proof-of-stake I think we could drammatically decrease the electricity expense by stopping monetary creation now. Nowdays Bitcoin is famous enough to remain secure even if miners earned transaction fees only. And if as a whole there are 16.5 M coins instead of 21 M, this does not make much of a difference. That is even good for holders. To make miners agree with that solution, they must be compensated for their lost income.  More precisely, active miners must be compensated because they have already bought ASICs. Futures miners do not need to be compensated. Since mining is a competitive industry, future miners will make no profit on average, whatever the reward scheme. To compensate active miners we could decide that the next 2016 blocks yield, say, 100 new coins and then 0 forever. Everybody would win and the Earth above all!
There are probably many other solutions and I wish the community cared a little more about this fundamental issue.

Bitcoin Forum / Banks will always be against cryptocurrencies?
« on: October 17, 2018, 03:05:25 AM »
No, I do not believe that. We must admit that what has allowed banks to acquire so much economic power is their ability to understand where capital is, and make the necessary efforts to keep it.

Knowing that banks will never fight against capital, what I see today is a growing interest of banks to incorporate blockchain technologies into their processes, and because of their marked interest in taking over everyone's money, it would not be strange that in the near future we will see banks willing to accept cryptocurrencies to carry out financial transactions. ::)
