Cryptocurrency discussions / india's new cryptocurrency
« on: October 14, 2018, 05:10:32 AM »
India is going to launch its own cryptocurrency.

A panel constituted by India’s finance ministry might soon recommend that the country launch a government-backed cryptocurrency.

“We are evaluating the government-backed cryptocurrency and crypto-token,” said a senior government official privy to the discussions of the panel. “And we are looking to develop and encourage our own research and development of blockchain technology,” the official added, referring to the digital infrastructure on which cryptocurrencies are based.

The finance ministry panel was set up in December 2017 under Subhash Chandra Garg, secretary, department of economic affairs, to suggest measures to regulate cryptocurrencies. The panel was supposed to submit its report by July, which was later pushed to the end of the year.

CZ unfriends four cryptos: tears and recriminations may not lead to great make-up listing.

If you want to attract an elite crowd, you have to kick out the riff-raff. That seems to be how Changpeng Zhao is running the club lately; the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume announced today that it is crossing four cryptocurrencies off the guest list: Bytecoin (BCN), ChatCoin (CHAT), Iconomi (ICN), and Triggers (TRIG).

Cryptocurrency Trading / trading bitcoins on eBay ?
« on: October 14, 2018, 05:02:55 AM »
Yeah I know it might sound silly but why not ?

It would be a no-brainer way to acquire bitcoins.  Plus, it would give audience, and thus help promote the bitcoin system.

Cryptocurrency Trading / A tip for choosing the exchange.
« on: October 14, 2018, 04:58:55 AM »
Exchanges establish their own fees. The fees are different not only between exchanges but sometimes between different trading pairs on the same exchange. Use a free service like Switchain to compare rates between a few different exchanges for each individual transaction.

There are custodial and non-custodial exchanges. Put simply, the first ones hold onto your assets that you leave with them which is what makes it vulnerable. Once it's hacked there's nothing you can do but watch. Non-custodial ones only hold your assets for the time necessary to complete the exchange.

Hope this helped.

Cryptocurrency discussions / KYC to airdrops is it good?
« on: October 13, 2018, 01:23:11 PM »
I don't think KYC for airdrops offered is fair for those who joined. Some ICO with airdropping is not also fine to get KYC for tokens worth almost nothing or a burger meal is not really fine. I observed it in some ICOs with airdrops that even with giveaways like that so small needs KYC? Don't fall for it guys, not worth it.

When there are instances that when the coin you hold has turned to dumped hard, are you biting that move to panic sell all your coins? Do you feel ease that you sell all your coin when the dump starts? Or feel depressed when you dump your coins and turns out it almost x2 the usual price.

Cryptocurrency discussions / enture capital and ICO
« on: October 13, 2018, 01:18:35 PM »
When investing in early-stage tech companies, don't assume that the average venture capital firm knows what they're doing. They generally have no rules and no clear direction for success. The vast majority of venture capital investments do not have the desired effect. The same goes for crypto project investments.

I think most ICO and early blockchain investors don't know what they're doing, which is why they want to put their money into projects with popular sentiment because it's the only reliable mode of exploration. It's important to know that many VCS also can't accurately measure a project's success. It's hard work, and the unpredictable nature of blockchain technology and creativity makes it even harder.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Those who lost their coins
« on: October 13, 2018, 01:16:21 PM »
The topic is self-moderated to prevent spamming. Thanks for taking it easy.

This topic is for those who lost money in coins. I found this picture on LinkedIn and thought to post it here so that investors know that there are risk involved in any kind of investments. The media will try to give you this idea that investing in crypto is the riskiest investment but the truth is in any industry you can have bear market. Patience is the key!

Hello everyone!
Have you seen the latest price of ETH then? About $ 200. What do you think about the price this time? Are you panic? Let me see some of your views if you believe that their prices will return soon.
About myself, I am quite puzzled seeing their prices. I wonder if I'm blindly believing?

What's your view on Litecoin's future? Will it catch up or continue to underperform?

Cryptocurrency discussions / Are ICOs gonna end someday ?
« on: October 13, 2018, 01:05:33 PM »
I have one question that really bug me sometimes, Are ICOs going to end or new ideas and projects will emerge along with ICOs. Many of us actually rely on bounty to earn other than investing. As long as there is ICO I believe there will be bounty. It will be a sad day for us if ICOs are declared officially dead.

Advertise Your Stuff / Increased Number of Scammers
« on: October 13, 2018, 12:32:57 PM »
Due to the increased popularity of cryptocurrencies, there has been an increased number of scammers both in terms of ICOs and in social media. You would find "official" representatives that would "propose lucrative deals" in the name of the legit company. There is only one result as a consequence - you losing your assets.
Thus, always keep in mind that real official channels of communications work. Also, if you see those posts in social media promising returns without a legit background (a.k.a. a full-blown platform) is a sure way to lose money. Creating bots on Facebook, Twitter, and Telegram is quite easy these days. Make sure not to repeat mistakes that others made before you https://www.cryptocointrade.com/
Not to mention mining pools and app scams going on right now. Some of the Facebook groups that were excellent in terms of trading discussions now turned into scam marketing sites.  ???
