Give Karma to the Ten Best Active Posters Every Weekend to Revive the Board

Na very simple something. I will start di initiative. Every Saturday I list the 10 best posters in the local board here for us to give 1 karma each since we can't give more than 1 Karma at a time. And people like Myself, SmartGold, Igebotz, Abditco, Charles-Tim, Wiwo and other Great men from Naija should give 1 karma to each 10 best and active poster and if this initiative is good make una put una mouth so we go do and if e no go we go leave am. And if e good then I go create another thread for that purpose.

Na better thing you talk, if una do like that for the forum e go motivate people more to de post back to back for the forum especially us way just de start this journey, make una encourage us make we also de work as team.
Normal e never tey way I start, but if you check general forum I don blast  with my post back to back.

Dis one na indeed a welcome development wey suppose increase activities for the board. Dis development go discourage low quality post wey b like spam, all in the name of activities. I get one question: what if person make more than two posts in a week, and the  two post dey selected, de person go receive Karma on the two separate post?.

And also, we really need to state the kind of post wey dey allowed for this forum. We certainly understand the State of the country, but no b everytime we go dey write post to condemn the government. Make crypto post or other financial related post still dey come in.

Na your profile we display and no  be your two best post I go display. When I display di profile so that people I call or any other person wey want give, go enter your profile and select di good post and give you karma. Remember we no go fit give more than one karma peer poster because giving +Karma is limited.

Karma is very easy to get on this forum. If you have friends, they can be given each other the karma and no one will know about it. The admin make mistake by not letting us see people that are given themselves karma. As it is hidden, people are abusing it. Although, if you post something that has quality, you have no problem but Karma does not really translate to how good someone's posts is. Karma is easy to get and I am not interested in this. Also that I am not recently active.

Not a good idea if you ask me, here is not bitcointalk where one can either have merit to send out, or not have merit to send, karma over here is like a Facebook or Twitter like button, which means, users will always have the ability to send karma, they don't have to earn it first to be able to send, so as such, Karma on this forum is easier to abuse than merit on bitcointalk.

What you are proposing can easily been seen as a Karma abuse by the admin, admin already said it times without number that, when ever we see a post or comment that deserves a positive Karma, give it at that particular moment and move on, same way you like a post on Facebook or Twitter and scroll away.

I can speculatively tell you that what some members of the girls club did that made them lose all their positive Karma may or might not be far or too different from what you are proposing here.

Yeah, op na our personal person, I sure do know that his proposal is with good intentions, and I personally like the fact that he first asked the board for our opinion before he proceeds with the idea, doing otherwise would have been a wrong step, same way people do sometimes, take wrong steps with right or good intentions, but asking for opinions before taking that step sometimes saves them from the aftermath effect or doom.
I hope he completely wipes out the idea, and like you said, just use the forum as it is designed.
Like I said before, bitcointalk is not Altcoinstalks, the both forums are designed and programmed in differently in some features, way of doing some stuffs on bitcointalk might not work well here, and I believe he knows already.

I do not see it as an abuse as long as you send it to quality posts, but I see it not worth it at all because it is just like the Facebook and X like.

People are definitely abusing Karma, we like it or not. Or maybe we should not call it abuse but you know what I am talking about.

You can have zero (0) karma and hit the +ve karma to send a user 1. You can also send it to another person after if you like.

From Sr rank you have the ability to give +karma and - Karma and there is no limit but there is a 10hrs gap on each profile - meaning of you give me karma on a topic you have to wait for another 10hrs  to give me another Karma again. De problem with our local board be say you go talk tire nobody go wan give you +Karma.  den stingy die.

I was waiting for the Senior Men to put their mouth on the issue because this place we dey na our online family so if I want to do anything dat na for di benefits of the family I go inform di family and make everyone put mouth. And I I dey happy seeing everyone comments. I am very much conscious of weti dey happen in the forum so I will never do something here dat will implicate people accounts. OP, the idea is a good one and I think that would be very much effective for all to participate unlike the other platform. However, there is a likelihood that things might go south in the nearest future and as our very own igebotz and Charles-Tim opined, I would advise it goes that way just as the forum policy statement with regards to Karma. We have come a long way to this point and we should thread here with caution so that we do not get ourselves into trouble. The karma system is quite different from the other platforms and there is rank restrictions so not everyone can give karma only from senior member and above.
