No , I think They are difference thing. Bitcoin is the first of ceypto currency. Block chain is the technology or platform. So If bitcoin will die, I yhink altcoin will exist with block chain technology.

As we all know, bitcoin is the base of all cryptocurrencies. When bitcoin value goes down, all other crypto will follow. And that is the reality in crypto business industry. So If ever bitcoin will die, there's a possibility that all  crypto will turn down to zero value, unless there's an altcoin that overtakes its price before btc dies.

They ate separate entity so I don't think Alts will die together with bitcoin. But for sure bitcoin will have a bigger impact to altcoin if that happen.
