Many people has been speaking on Zcash hatred but despite that, is has what it takes to be on top 4 coins.
Zcash is a fork of the bitcoin protocol, the first and most widely used blockchain cryptocurrency. This means it maintains its own block chain and currency token. Zcash builds on the existing work from the Bitcoin core team to enable privacy preserving transaction data using zero-knowledge proofs. The lower transaction fees, faster transaction times, privacy through shielded addresses and transactions, are some it's deferences from bitcoin.

Some features that makes Zcash different from bitcoin is that it builds on the existing work from the Bitcoin core team to enable privacy preserving transaction data using zero-knowledge proofs. The lower transaction fees, faster transaction times, privacy through shielded addresses and transactions really makes it unique.
