Before we talk about what family dispute is, I will like us to first of all look at what a dispute is all about.
A dispute can simply be seen as a disagreement between two or more parties over a particular issues. It can also be said that dispute is also the absent of peace.
Dispute can arise in various context, such a personal relationship, businesses transaction, legal matters, etc.
And this take us to the mean deal on what family dispute is all about.
Family dispute can simply be seen or refers to a situation whereby the smooth interaction and relation among members of a family is disrupted because of one thing or the other. Family dispute can be between two parents or between parents and their children.
Dispute in a family can be as a result of lack of trust, drunkenness, lack of dialogue, joblessness, etc. And in must cases dispute come in form of a fight, quarrel or child molestation, and this can result to a bad atmosphere in the family, separation or even divorce between spouses. When one form of violence is found in the family, other forms are likely to also occur and that violence in the family has a direct relationship to community violence and other forms of aggression and gender based violence.
Family life should be characterized by good communication between it's members, close cooperates and collaboration so that everyone can leave in love, peace and unity.
Family dispute, especially between father and mother, affect the mental health of the children and this will negatively affect their adulthood in the future. Such a phenomenon may result in barriers to development in the family and the community at large. Taking account of this crucial problem, everyone should participate effectively and fight against family dispute in order to maintain and improve the well-being of everyone in the family.
THIS IS THE FOCUS OF THIS ARTICLE:
If parents keep having constant dispute at home, children are bound to be affected (Psychologically, emotionally and even academically) as they grow up. If the children grow up in a family were violence is a common phenomenon, they may end up doing the same in their families even when they grow up, unless intervention is sort for.
The first important influence on the children is the family because it is the bedrock of socialization, and because children and families are interactive members of a large system of social institutions, such as school, church, workplace and to communities.
