Do you think Bitcoin becoming "greener and cleaner" is really important for the crypto market's future ? Will environmentalists soon recognize Bitcoin as an important driver of clean energy development?

We live in an era where so-called environmentalists are so noisy everywhere and so to appease these people Bitcoin mining is getting to be greener and cleaner with the use of renewable energy as well as those that will just go to waste. I don't get a lot of damn with people who argues that Bitcoin is bad for the environment because in the first place all industries, people and many of man's activities do require power. Focusing on Bitcoin is rather disconcerting for me. to stop Bitcoin from getting a blackeyes in the views of these people - and they are so good in getting the attention of the media on their side, mind you - Bitcoin mining has no choice but to be green. Yet there is no guarantee that Bitcoin will get the approval from these people because in the first they don't like Bitcoin and I am sure that not many of them would want something to do with cryptocurrency.

For many years, every time the BTC price fluctuates strongly, whether it increases or decreases, we always have more articles condemning the BTC mining industry because it consumes too much electricity, even more than the electricity consumption of many countries^[1]. Therefore, Bitcoin mining is considered a dirty and harmful industry, which is also commonly used to condemn Bitcoin, in addition to concerns about the future of finance.

What happened is that people were afraid of loosing their funds when things like this happens, they never want to risk it and what caused the most of it all is the social media, the kind of news that people spread around the internet concerning bitcoin whenever it goes dip can make people to all fear and rush to selling off their asset of investment when they realized the market is no more favourable on their own end.

I think it's one area that this so-called environmentalist trying to attack Bitcoin. And I will say that they succeeded in some parts as we all know that China, used to be one of the biggest mining farm, forces their mining to stop or relocate because of electricity and the supposedly bad effects of bitcoin mining to the environment.

But this has been debunked by many experts in the field of electricity and they say that Banking system is one of the biggest contributor as far as hurting the environment.

Maybe this is just way for this anti-Bitcoin to used this argument against us.

I was reading an energy consumption survey-based post here on the forum yesterday, and after reading this post I can relate to the different viewing angles between both of the threads, anyway Thanks to OP for such a good compilation of information, Sounds like this is one of first threads on the forum I've gone through in which the proper reference-based information sharing.

Bitcoin is getting cleaner, well there are some hidden facts as well, when all this anti-mining campaign was a hot topic some of the people were funding these campaigns for their personal gains, I know maybe many of people will call it just a shity piece of rumors but on some end, rumors posses decent logical grounds as well. Whatever it was a journey of success cant be smooth always, Bitcoin has proved it many times while surviving every sort of legal pressure & fuds.

Now after ETF approvals, someone seems like putting their efforts hard to impose new kind of discouraging taxation for Bitcoin minners.

The propaganda that BTC mining destroys the environment has been debunked by a lot of BTC enthusiasts, BTC mining uses a lot of energy, but the negative effects have been exaggerated. Miners have been using renewable sources of energy for a long time now, and the percentage that does so is only going to go higher, however take note that the talk of BTC mining destroying the environment is mostly just an attack on BTC, so even if 99% of BTC miners move to renewable sources of energy, anti-bitcoiners would still find a way to attack BTC.

Google is still free but many people don't want to know the truth, they want to know something negative about BTC, and the topic of energy is always prominent and easy to abuse.

You are right. Out of the 7.8 billion population, 80% to 90% still don't consider BTC real money. My numbers might be wrong here as they are just self-made. The point here is, that most people don't know anything about BTC but they have heard about it and articles like these will not make them learn about it instead they will make a place as a villain in their hearts.

Using energy for BTC mining cannot raise electricity costs, if the Mining operators are paying the bills then they are doing it legally, if the grid stations have some kind of record of usage then they should take steps to manage things.

The market will always be exciting with many negative news about BTC right before the bullrun 😂

So, if miners will shift on using green way so energies then the media will have nothing in their hands to write bad about BTC or mining, thus overall it will make a place in the heart of traditional people and convince them to adopt it.

Bitcoin miners who are able to implement environmental friendliness are only available in some north poles and south poles where there are still very cold places because Bitcoin miners need cooling to keep the Bitcoin mining machine cool without overheating. Meanwhile, for miners in tropical climates, it will provide extra costs and may not be environmentally friendly.

Politicians are not necessarily smart people, but only pawns moved by people much more powerful than themselves, and I am not at all surprised that they use Bitcoin in their daily political games, but some people who the public considers extremely intelligent and, moreover, successful, obviously have some quite other agendas when they publicly state falsehoods when it comes to Bitcoin.

Let's just remember the globally popular Mr. Mars and his initiative to first enable BTC to become a payment option in one of his companies, and the sudden turn after some time when he asserted that he could not support something that harms the environment.

Should we even mention Buffett, Jamie Dimon or perhaps Bill Gates, who use every opportunity to say something bad about Bitcoin, and given their reputation, there should be no doubt that they have a very negative impact on large masses of people. I don't know how many countries have changed in the story "Bitcoin consumes as much electricity as country X", all to scare people that they will remain in the dark if mining is not stopped.

The point is, actually, bitcoin turned green because of the pressures, it was not a natural path of the crypto mining industry!

Negative issues always against bitcoin , since at the  beginning bitcoin launched until now. There are many opinions, especially bad opinions about bitcoin at the past. But I don't care. In my mind bitcoin is the future technology, I believe bitcoin will have great future.
