Does that also mean that it is not allowed to post website advertisements in classic announcement threads? Or do these fall in a different category?

Why not you post? Only forum related topics can you post advertising section's.

I think the rule that says do not advertise your site anywhere in the forum except in the advertising section does not include an advertisement which has to do with the forum or cryptocurrency
