What do you think if we, like bitcoin talk, also created the community award?
even without prizes it would be interesting for us to start doing something like this too
maybe we'll do just 2-3 categories starting slowly and maybe next year we'll do even better

I also buy in this idea, it will help in many ways, we are going to see it encourage people for more activeness as well as engaging in more quality contributions to this forum, they will be found doing this not because they are to get awarded, but being noticed for their outstanding performances, lets encourage this and if it turned a success, there will be more increasing activities from this forum.

Yes, I support this wonderful idea, a good idea and also a good thing to start the new year with a new idea that I think will contribute to the forum's growth a lot.

Anyone can create such a topic and distribute prizes, but getting supporters for such prizes will be very difficult, so if there are no donors, the competition can be free for the first year or with symbolic prizes (ALTT tokens, special rank,..etc.)

I am of the opinion that the organization of similar events is currently open to everyone, at least on this forum. Unless the admin has already reserved some arrangements. This forum is planned as independent from Btt, and we have already seen that some unofficial (unwritten) rules, which we are used to on other forums, do not have to apply here.
Another thing is that the organization requires a lot of commitment, possibly looking for sponsors, and it seems that there aren't many people who can dedicate themselves to that.

hugeblack mentioned some forum awards and it seems like a good idea to me, so we should talk with the admin to get involved in the organization agreement, regardless of potential sponsors.

You are mistaken.

If someone cheated you here on the forum, but you know that the user also has a verified account on Bitcointalk. Would they deserve a red tag on another forum? Definitely.. since we are not talking about accounts but about people. Same with plagiarism ... I will mark any user with a red tag if they use my work without my permission.. bbcode structure, navigation bars, images, description of nominations, etc.

It is a good idea to have something like that in AltcoinsTalks forum, so I am supporting this idea.
Good members deserve to be recognized and rewarded, and all that would increase activity in forum.
However, I think we should do it differently than in bitcointalk forum, it's better to create something unique if possible.

That's completely justifiable if someone uses your templates, your awards title discretion or just copy and paste your format- that's plagiarism BUT...

If someone else creates a whole new format, voting mode, other award titles, and so on and gets the approval of the admin/president here, you will no longer be able to red tag anyone on the other forum.

The title " Altcointalk community awards" is still available and only the admin can give approval and Babo will still need approval/endorsement from the admin to continue.

If we orgamise community awards here then there must be an award gifting to the winners of the competition and that will motivate people to participate more. Either some amount of karma with badge and with some small amount of dollar add to it. It is a good idea to make the forum more busy. And it needs well plan and organize event.

I suggest you think about reducing the number of categories to 3 or maybe 4 at the initial stage (and expanding in the future).

In addition, BC agreed to allocate $500 (I'll send you a banner a little later).

I like your suggestion of the 3-4 slot or categories for the start and when it is advance then it can be increased. And I also appreciate your effort and BC.game of supporting the event with such amount.

Best of luck babo I will also take part and will try to win at least one badge if there will any.

This could be a nice idea. New badges are insteresting, and there could be some like "Winner of 2024 Community Award"

Then we would have many different badges for each year. They would be like unique badges, which can't be awarded later on

I first was going to say if there were more badges, like on yearly basis even then it can be discouraging for latecomers like a game if we missed the season 1 or 2, we wouldn't have those badges as we joined late in season 3. Newcomers can't get those yearly unique rewards and each year if it takes place with new unique rewards there will be a cluster of badges.
