Reputation, Scams & Phishing / What is going on with Tumbler Mixer?
« on: May 03, 2024, 06:18:03 PM »
Tumbler mixer website is not working both on clearnet and onion link.
I am trying to find more information what is happening with them, and this is what we know so far.
I would appreciate if you could add any missing information.

1. No communication with campaign manager for several months!
I know but the last time the team replied my message was a few months ago LOL

2. ANN topic in AltcoinsTalks forum was never created.

3. Issues with customer affiliate account, and we know time when outage happened
The reason why I said the timing was suspicious is not because of law enforcement but because I had wrote to them a few hours before the outage (that started yesterday) asking them to activate my affiliate account so that I could withdraw a large payout.

The server is facing a downtime now, the site works but the connection of the server is not stable.
For how long is this server going to continue being down?
I just checked the same links posted above with my search testing and I am getting exactly the same result = nothing.
Only username search works for me, and it is giving me all posts from that member.
For example:

UTC or GMT, I can't seem to understand any of them. They are just too complex and confusing for me.
Check out high resolution Gleason's New Standard Map Of The World to understand time zones better.
It's not that complicated to understand when you know that earth is one big clock and sun tells us the time of the day.

I would prefer if we could use the same time as in bitcointalk forum, but I am fine with anything really.

Or he did turn out to be a whistle blower, giving all the government want they wanted as far as Binance transactions goes and where this money being laundered. So in short he open his book to them.
Well that is obvious.
You kind a have to give up your money and information you have to the government agency, and than they reduce your sentence.
We have many examples from other cases to prove that, and it doesn't really matter if you are actually guilty some something or not.
And it is about his Bitcoin, it is about everyone else Bitcoin also.

Crypto Wallets / Re: Wasabi wallet shutting down Coinjoin
« on: May 03, 2024, 03:39:43 PM »
And it prove their controversial blacklist on their coordinator isn't really effective. Anyway, i'd like to mention that without controvesial CoinJoin and coordinator, Wasabi Wallet is fairly decent wallet. I said that since use Tor by default, implement BIP 157 (which allow retrieve relevant block from node privately) and automatically connect to your own node (if you run one on same device).
It proved that it doesn't really matter what you are doing if regulators really want to shut you down or arrest you.
That doesn't mean we should all give up and surrender now.

Some people criticized Wasabi, other criticized Samourai wallet, both sides claimed that the other one is working with regulators and analytics companies.
And now we don't have functional Coinjoin anymore, that really sucks   :P

Trezor hardware wallet is also dropping support for Coinjoin on June 1st, and that is no surprise for me after their partner Wasabi wallet done the same thing few days ago.

So most likely they will focused their attention against Coinbase, but the thing is that Coinbase is not going to back down from them and even got many support from crypto enthusiast.
Sure thing.
Coinbase is next and then every other crypto exchange that is operating in United States, probably Kraken and Crypto.com are next on the line for them.
They are really getting serious and they can't have anything messing their plans for CBDC release, that is coming in next few years and I think people are so weak that most wil just accept that junk.

But now I looking as how to DIY as other options for me.
I don't think keeping them in cheap safe deposit is a good idea.
This will be the first thing anyone would check for valuable items, and if it's small they would just carry it and open in other location.
Some people are even making a mistake of keeping hardware wallets together with seed phrase backup, and that should never be done.
I had a few ideas for creating easy DIY backup solution, but I am not finding time to create good post with tutorial.

While I hope it's not the case, the fact that the service is still down after 24 hours smells like they're trying to chicken out of paying.
It doesnt sound good what is happening, but I dont think they did this because of your affiliate account withdrawal.
Not having ANN topic in forum for months, they dont reply to manager who runs their campaign, website is not working now, something is not right.
I dont know if they got seized or shutdown, but I didnt hear anything about them in recent news.

That's where the confusion is. I think the forum server time in UTC will be easier for everyone. There are no need for +/- of any hour unless anyone wants to adjust it with their local time.
I never use UTC time for anything but I think this is the same as GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) time.
Just by stating what time zone forum is using (next to the time) could also work fine.
Everyone could easily convert it to their local time zones by using calculators, for example timeanddate.com:

If the price sky rocket to 120k usd or more, I can just sell a little bit without doing big consolidations
I think this bitcoin ''rocket'' is now going the other direction towards the bottom, and it's no surprise with so much bad news and fud recently  :-\
No idea how this will affect transaction fees and mempool, but we could see more cooldown in next few weeks.
We could have much bigger problems than fees in future...

I do not think Canada sued CZ but Binanace instead for violation of local securities laws. That Binance sold crypto derivative products to Canadians. I am expecting Binance CEO or a representative to be the one to handle the case instead and should not be about CZ prosecution.
CZ = Binance  8)
I don't know the exact details about this case, but I know it's not only US and Canada, they have legal problems in Philippines and maybe in some other countries.
Most people in CZ place would do things differently, but it's easy to be the general when the fight is over.
It's not that I am supporting CZ, but how things are going with latest arrests, we could be facing very dark future.  :P

A forum?. Well, to be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if they point out a cryptocurrency forum one day.
I don't think forum is their main target yet, but they will eventually try to shut down every free speech platforms that talks about bitcoin.
If they don't shut down bitcointalk and other crypo forums they could always try the takeover tactics.

I'm not sure it's a good idea to make KYC mandatory, in case the team is thinking about it.
What KYC?!
They never mentioned any KYC and me neither.
Only thing they can do is to exclude someone from using their service based on IP address.

Personally, I don't think the United States is the problem, but I think you will agree with me that right now everything is orchestrated from that country.
They became just a puppet state, so no they are not the main problem.
Country that is the main source of problem is much smaller and younger than US ;)

Electrum wallet also have this features now except for Dustin attack feature ( can't verify this ) but I've only seen this feature on Wasabi wallet.
First time I hear about this, but I never had dust attack in any of bitcoin wallets I used.
I wonder if this feature will work after they stop doing Coinjoin in June, but Wasabi will soon become useless, unless some new coordinator appears.

What's bad about wassabi?
I am sure other members have lot of things to complain about this wallet, but only thing I don't like it's new interface they introduced since version 2.0

And there is a  lack of technical discussions. We only see questions like "what is the best wallet?"
Famous question, that is very hard to answer for the 100 times... that is why we need to have topics with bunch of pages and mew posts created all the time.
I am going to start reporting similar topics to moderators for locking.

Well, as soon as Theymos banned the mixers from Bitcointalk, of course there was going to be a spike of users at altcoinstalks. And now it appears to have become calmer but it has not revered to its original numbers.
I don't think it reverted back to original members, there are several new members who teleported and stay active.

Crypto Wallets / Wasabi wallet shutting down Coinjoin
« on: May 02, 2024, 09:56:37 PM »
Wasabi wallet developers just announced they are shutting down their Coinjoin service with coordinator Zksnacks starting June 1!
They will continue working on Wasabi wallet but only as regular bitcoin wallet, there won't be anything that improves bitcoin privacy.
Read more in their blog article:
