Reputation, Scams & Phishing / Betcoin & Playbetr are scam sites.
« on: February 19, 2023, 11:31:52 AM »
A user on bitcointalk claims to have been scammed out of 0.85 BTC, which is currently worth almost $20,000, by the websites Playbetr and Betcoin. The user had been betting on sports, primarily NBA basketball, on both sites for about a year, depositing a total of around $7,000-8,000 in BTC. After winning some bets, the user attempted to withdraw their balances but was unable to log in to either account. The user received emails from both sites accusing them of fraudulent actions, offering to return their deposit, and terminating their account and suspending payouts.

The user provided full KYC to both sites and was fully verified, but the sites did not provide any explanation or evidence for their claims. The user has been attempting to contact the sites for over a month but has not received a response. The sites claim that the user committed fraudulent actions such as syndicate play, collusion, match fixing, and development of unfaithful winnings or advantage play, but the user denies these claims and says they only bet on NBA bets.

The user is determined to take legal action against the sites and has seen other users contact Curacao courts and lawyers. The user is willing to pay any amount of money or do anything to get this sorted out and prevent the sites from scamming innocent players.

Avoid gambling with FortuneJack, they’re scummy and use bogus terms and conditions to fuck players over. Imagine canceling bets after grading them as wins and coming up with frivolous excuses for doing so.

A few things:...

Their terms state they have a maximum payout per bet of €100,000, yet they accept bets with estimated payouts of more than  €100,000. Moreover, they don't alert people to that in any way shape or form when placing bets, you find out after winning and they give you their max payout. This clause is well hidden in their t&c, but I digress.

The bets in questions did not surpass the €100,000 payout limit per bet. They paid out just one of 4 bets - €95,000. from a total of €200,000 in winnings, claiming the other 3 bets were identical to the first bet and so canceled them. If the said bets had lost, I doubt placing “identical” bets would have been an issue. There is nothing identical about 1X2 and “Who will win the rest of the match in-running” - They are two totally different markets.
