Ethereum Forum / ICO Review Request
« on: December 04, 2017, 08:50:57 PM »
I am recording a new ICO review tonight. BUT I'd like to get a head start on the next one. Who should I be reviewing?

Solidity / Re: What is Solidity ?

Basically, it is the language used to develop a smart contract. Which can be thought of as a piece of code on the blockchain.

Solidity / Re: Is solidity a good solution for the Ethereum blockchain ?

I'm confused. Are you asking if it is a good idea to have another language or if Solidity is a good language to use?

Ethereum Forum / Re: Is Ethereum better than Bitcoin? Why or why not?

No, Eth will never be better than bitcoin. This coin has recently emerged and no one knows when it will disappear. And bitcoin will live a long time

Yeah this makes no sense.

This is like asking which is better a car or truck. Yeah, they are both vehicles, but they are used for different things. BTC is money while ETH is law.

Ethereum Forum / Re: Is Ethereum a safe investment?
« on: November 14, 2017, 08:47:39 PM »
Well, let's dissect this a little. What would you consider a "good investment"? How do you even define that? Isn't of looking at it from a traders or investors point of view, why don't you look at it through a different lens? Like is the project going to make its promises? Is the tech going to change the world? Do I believe in the team, it's leadership, and it's ability to produce goods results?

My point in all this is, don't look at it like a stock or bond, look at it like its a small company you could have a personal stake in, look at it as if its a community or team you'd like to be a part of. It's hard for anyone to tell you what is or isn't a good investment for you because they are not you. It's much easier for you to decide what kind of projects you'd like to contribute to, what problems do you think are worth solving and putting your money where your mouth is.

My $.02.

Like it or not ETH is going to be around for a long while. It has the most support, the best leadership, and is furthest down the path of a viable network. Smart coins and smart contracts are simply a new tool in a programmers toolbox. That tool will continue to evolve and change until it has been specialized to individual needs, business uses cases and security. The future isn't set in stone, but tokens and coins are going to be a huge part of the world. We are just getting started, expect bumps and bruises, but don't be surprised when it doesn't go away.

Solidity / Where to Start
« on: November 14, 2017, 02:25:59 PM »
Hello everyone, welcome to the solidity sub-board.

My name is Bradley Trapp, I'm a dapp developer among other things.

In this board, we will discuss how to get started with developing in solidity, how to write good clean contracts, what tools are available to us, etc.

The following is a list of great places to start.

Why would it go up if there isn't any real change?
