I am currently holding none, and the time to hold a coin should not be fixed, like even for BTC as well, if you think now is the good time to book some profit then we should not hesitate to do so, because booking profit at least make us confident about our decisions and we can also retake an entry at some good point later in time.

Truly the time frame to HODL is individual preference but there may be a maximum years that hold surety of getting gains especially when it comes to altcoins and that is the reason for this topic

Choosing a project that is already established and has clear fundamentals should be a priority if it is for the long term. Because choosing a new altcoin whose potential has not yet been seen is much riskier. Unless it is for the medium or short term.

Hodling Btc is indeed the most comfortable to do, especially if you are accumulating using the DCA strategy since the bearish market occurred. So that when the bull run market comes, we can see our portfolio growth being very positive. Likewise in altcoins the DCA method can be done like in Ethereum etc.

We all are aware of the higher risk involved in trading than HODLing and it has always been advisable to HODL rather than trade especially to Beginners. Just few days after new year this happened :Market dip hit crypto traders with over $650 million in long liquidations last week. This gives more reasons to avoid trading especially for beginners, since traders may usually fall into pump and dump Schemes and trading especially when trading Altcoins. Its advisable to HODL but the reason I made this post is about from the fact that, we know the surety of HODLing bitcoin, it can be HODL for over a decade but this is not true for most altcoins. Though I have 2 altcoins I can advice anyone to HODL which are Solona and Ethereum while I may have surety of HODLing altcoins for at most 2 years maybe with an exception of Ethereum which I may HODL longer.
I know there are other altcoins worth HODLing but I guess my knowledge is quite vague about investing and HODLing altcoins and so I will like to ask the questions.

My Answers to your 2 Questions:
1: There is no actual and 100% accurate way to find altcoins good for Hodling, what people mostly do is they buy and HODL reputable and well-established altcoins. but when it comes to new and upcoming projects, those who are newly listed or those who are in their token sale phase, then people try to conclude necessary due diligence, read other people's reviews, or decide to buy that because of someone else an influencer or someone (which is not a good idea btw)
2: Speaking of myself. I've been Hodling some LUNC tokens since their crash, they were so cheap. even cheaper than any memecoin, so I bought around $30 worth of them and holding them until now, it is just a fun holding, it'll either make me rich or not. I don't have plan to sell them until a significant price mark.

Although the level of risk in altcoins is really high, you should be aware from the beginning that you should not expect to take profit from the capital that you will use in that matter. As long as we don't always forget the DYOR (do your own research),.

In reality, it is when finding a good enough Altcoin or memecoin with a strong community this will provide 100x or even 1000x more profits.
I've seen this kind of thing happen to $PEPE that I never thought could achieve such an incredible increase and even with just $1 could generate hundreds of thousands of dollars in profits if it came in early on the purchase.

Trying to invest and look for the latest memecoin or shitcoin is like catching a knife from a height, which has a fairly high risk but can give tremendous returns when entering the right altcoin.

coins or altcoins are created because of trends, so I will choose altcoins according to the current trend, for example the L2 coin trend, because ethereum transaction costs are high, I use Arbitrum, Linea, Manta to look for tokens and NfT to trade and I think I will hold for 5 next year, because no one knows when the coin price will  up or down

Many people Holding Altcoin form longtime. Most of them bought it past bull session and from then holding altcoin because after that bear market huge dump all altcoin. I think their wait is almost over good time is coming. For ETF approve and upcoming halving bitcoin and all cryptocurrency  and Altcoins price increasing and it will continue. So i think now time for buy Altcoin and Hold it. If we hold altcoin we will huge gain there has no doubt. I think it is best and perfect time for Hold altcoin.

My advice  on HODLing is that , look for Altcoins  which moves in correspondence  with BTC movements  I won't suggest  any but from your research you could find coin that moves along with Bitcoin. Also I believe  Bitcoin influences Altcoins  generally  but there are  some significant differences  between  General  Altcoins  and those who moves according  to Bitcoin  movement  pattern

Crypto currency trading is gradually increasing day by day because it creates a large market volume for people who wants to earn from the online era specially crypto market. we the people have the scope for earning a large by trading from the crypto market because it is more or less easy to trade as if people once learn from trading can earn easily from buying or selling, holding, staking, liquidity mining and so one. I think most of the time that altcoin investment is always risky and it is done in most losses if held for a long time. But we all know it is best and less risky when you invest in bitcoins other than altcoins. But the best altcoins for me to hold are ETH and BNB these coins are reliable and good to hold for long term. But I don't dare to hold long for future in all other coins because it can get damaged at any time and chances of losing money are high.

For Altcoins, I don't dare to Hold because Altcoins always have problems and are more complex.
Many altcoins start out great and then die in the middle of the road, this is very sad and this is bad for us when we become Hodlers.
Bitconect, perhaps in 2017, is a ridiculous fraud scheme because it is structured and planned, not to mention that the one that is still hotly discussed is FTX.
Now I only keep Bitcoin in my wallet and for altcoins I don't dare to buy it, even for Ethereum I don't hold it because I don't have enough money to buy it and to buy it I also use GAS transactions to send ERC20 tokens.

I do not trust altcoins except for Ethereum. My experience with altcoins taught me not to trust them in the long term because they are not guaranteed, and we have seen how altcoins that were thought to be strong coins collapsed.

Unlike Bitcoin and Ethereum, I do not advise you to hold in the long term, especially if you will invest a large amount of capital. However, if you have a small amount of capital to venture, there are many Altcoins that may achieve you 10x - 100x. But this is an Unsecured adventure that may succeed or fail.

I think most of this Altcoins are established for just a particular future payment or future  large transaction  after that they get dumped forever leaving the investors in a depressed situation  .
