How Can I Give More Than 1 Karma at a Time?

With my little time spent here I can say that I have not tried sending more than 1 karma but even if they want to send up to 1 karmas you can do that each 10 hours. But I don't think that's a best u deal. On a serious note I have seen some users with no karma but doing so well here and there posts and activities are qualit

even if we try but we are limited to one karma at a time and you need to wait for another hours if you wanted to extend that karma giving.

Maybe @Admin needs to be here to clear this thought because sometimes I also wanted to give more than 1 karma but there is nothing I can do but wait and if time comes I already forgotten whom I wanted to give more lol.

The admin of this forum was very much active before but these days things are not like before again. Though he is a human so he must manage stress so we can't blame him for late response. And another users whom I like here is jokers, that guy is also trying his best to make sure that things are okay. Except these two people I have not noticed another user. But I know with time, things will be alright.

Additionally, there are some topics that have been repeated multiple times, which might have caused him to become tired of answering them over and over again.

Yes I understand it is not easy for him to run across all the boards to answer questions. I am also suspecting that it was from this my previous comment that I make removed -Karma twice in my profile but that is not withstanding. To make the forum more active and populated admin also made it clear that we should create threads in most of the questions. And I also see reason with that because if we use the chat bar for questions then the forum will become redundant and this question are making the forum lively because as people making comments it makes or create interaction among members.

I reckon only admins or moderators can dish out more than 1 karma at a time. I've also stumbled upon chats where mods can send a bunch of karma, so it's likely a special perk for the bigwigs of the forum.

For regular users like us, it's still capped at giving just 1 karma to 1 user within a 10-hour window. But the cool part is, we can karma anybody without limits. So, it's pretty comfy since we're not restricted in spreading the karma love.

Once you give the person the +karma it shows instantly. Yes once you give one karma you can't give to that user again till 10 hours.

My bad, I did not realize that, even though I noticed 2 times that I gave karma to 2 members but it was not added to their profiles, I thought there must be some delay in the addition of karma so I never double checked, I guess I should find those posts again to give them karma, especially the ones where I write +1. I doubt if my karma to such posts was added or not. But now I think there is no way to confirm that either.

Because I not even remember how much karma they had when I give +1, I actually write 3 to 5 times +1 in my posts in response to some member's post and gave them instantly after making the post, but never checked, well, that's bad for me. Thanks for the confirmation dear agbe, from now on I will be more careful.

Usually admin is doing 10 karmas at once and the most suitable method, think about it if ordinary members without admin can give 10 karmas at once, then surely karma will be misused. Karma is usually given based on posts, posts that are quality and informative are rewarded with 1 positive. So I think it's enough to give 1 karma to normal users and more to others.

I disagree, there is nothing wrong if 'normal' members can give more than 1 karma at a time, even if it is not up to +10, maybe forum members here can be allowed up to +5 karma at once, that would make sense in my honest opinion. If Karma is abused, the admin can step in and sanction such users with negative karma.

You can give as many karma to different users as often as you want, but not more often than 1 karma (+ or -) per 1 user per some period of time (about 10 hours as for now). When you will try to give karma to the same user more often, you'll see a warning that it is impossible.

Oh, I was mistaken about the context of Agbe's reply, after reading your I got it now that we can't give karma to the same person within 10 hours, but can give it to another member in the time span of 10 hours. Thanks for the reply, It means I don't have to worry about the +1 thing, as I used to write it within the 10 hours but never confirmed the karma. As AFAIK I gave karma to different members, I also wanted to see the Karma renewal. Thanks for that info as well.

I can agree to this if it's +5 karma to be distributed to 5 different users within 10 hours. The number will reset after the time limit expires (no carry-overs).

Or perhaps admin can implement a karma per rank system.

Example;
Senior - 1 Karma
Hero - 2 Karma
Legendary - 3 karma
Mythical - 4 karma
and so on

So now everyone can give karma to the same user much more often already. And I don't see any really big difference between giving 1 karma for some good post or 5 karma. I suggested giving or limiting karma per account; this way, anyone can spend their karma however they want as long as they do not abuse it. There are posts that deserve more than +1 karma, but the current 10-hour gap makes that difficult. It is a new system (for teleported accounts), but everyone will adjust to it in time.

I guess you just still think in a merit paradigm where sometimes (and usually not) there is a big difference between the number of given merits. But if you'll think about karma as about likes in social networks, you'll see that there's no need in multiple likes: you show that some post is useful/important/motivating/inspiring for you and that's enough.

Everything appears to be working properly for now, however when +Karma becomes a priority for campaign managers and a specific amount of karma is required to join a campaign/bounty, the rate of abuse will rise. Limiting the total number of Karma for each rank per month is critical; this ensures that everyone trades with caution and does not simply spread it around.

I'm not really bothered about the number of karma per post BTW, I have reddit account and I know how it works just wanted something abit unique here.

Several more cases with a total karma reset and ban for an abuse of a system will make it less likely. Giving karma is available for Senior+ already, so to start changing karma of others you should already have a developed enough account to know what consequences can be if to abuse the system.

Well, after reading the comments, I only have a need to ask if the admin have the intention to actually change the karma system to allow normal members be able to award more than one karma to a post? Just like OP already stated in his topic, there are some threads you would come across and you will really be motivated to give more than one karma but because of the rules of the forum which doesn't allow it. Admin actually got to pull out +10 karma at once, a normal member could actually have felt such butterflies too but can not do anything but only give one karma.

If it's possible to change the system, I think it will be better to increase the number of karma that members can award at once. Even if it's up to 5 at once.
