I know that Ethereum is a strong coin and also Litecoin has been showing and staying string all these years, but can Litecoin go above Ethereum?

i think its hard for LTC to beat ethereum most of the time that the ethereum will drop other coins are also falling including LTC in which its market value for now is too cheap making LTC hard to surpass ethereum coins.

I personally doubt the possibility of litecoin overtaken ethereum, though Litecoin has been around a lot longer than Ethereum, but Ether has grown in value far quicker. Then there are smart-contracts to consider.
One thing of note here is that Ethereum is the more functional, the more versatile, and the more technically impressive than Litecoin.
In my opinion, Litecoin has a long ways go to if it will overtake Ethereum.

Litecoin is really a good coin too and it is possible that it can surpass ethereum because the future or the movement of the coins is really depend on its team who are working religously to surpass all the challenges that may encounter along its way and to reached its target.

For now i don't see any possibilities that Litecoin will surpass Ethereum coin because Ethereum has so many successful projects and this coin also used by many ICO's.But in the near future Litecoin will compete more to Ethereum.

I will choose ETH to invest, but if you want the LTC to invest, it's not too bad either. For me, both themes have good future coins in crypto. Why I prefer ETH, because it has more experience on blockchain / crypto-world and security than LTC, but that doesn't mean LTC doesn't have good security.but if it rises above ethereum for me it's also difficult.

OP, should you make a POLL instead? On my view, I don't think Litecoin will ever beat ETH because ETH holds so many projects while Litecoin is just Litecoin. It's just an alternative option for trading and I don't see any reasons for Litecoin to surpass ETH.

Ethereum, has many features, that Litecoin does not have. Smart contracts are part of the Ethereum blockchain. With Electrum, someone can add features, like colored coins, but I don't think that this will be equivalent to smart contracts. Atomic swaps are an advantage of Litecoin, but they are not popular yet, as smart contracts. So I cannot see Litecoin can take over Ethereum.

You are right, even though litecoin is a good coin but Litecoin will have difficulty surpassing Ethereum. At present the distance between Ethereum and Litecoin is very far. Right now, their market caps are 28b (Ether) to 6b (Lite). Litecoin should do 4x from here, which is not possible in a short term. However Litecoin halving is coming, so a price increase is very likely, but still I don't think it will catch Ethereum.

Defi is the boomed recently. most of the projects are DeFi undoubtedly successfully completed it's ieo on uniswap v2. So litecoin never cross Ethereum.

I do not agree with you. Ethereum developers continue to work from day one to improve their product and add new features to Ethereum contracts. Litecoin does not have any #DevelopmentTeam and it has not been developed or updated for years, it is only still on the market because it was one of the first to appear after Bitcoin.
