Dogecoin mining is the process of being rewarded with new Dogecoin for checking transactions on the Dogecoin blockchain. Simple, right? Well no, it’s not quite that simple, nothing ever is!

Mining Dogecoin is like a lottery. To play the lottery you have to do some work. Well, actually your computer (or node) has to do some work! This work involves the confirming and checking of transactions which I talked about in the last section.

Dogecoin is a blockchain-based peer-to-peer cryptocurrency. The first definition of Dogecoin that comes to mind is a joke cryptocurrency inspired by the “doge” meme, but the interesting point is that Dogecoin managed to build a sustainable and friendly community, got a capitalization of more than one billion dollars and still exist as one of the biggest currencies on the cryptomarket.

Dogecoin community not only helped its members that got in trouble or were hacked, but also has been involved in some interesting charity cases. For example, they raised fifty thousand dollars for Jamaican Bobsled team to go to Sochi Winter Olympics in 2014 and thirty thousand dollars to build a well in the Tana river basin in Kenya. Dogecoin is popular on Reddit, Twitter and some blockchain-related communities.

 

Dogecoin is based on Litecoin, which means all changes and updates made to Litecoin will also apply to Dogecoin.

Dogecoin never set out to create any groundbreaking technology on the blockchain or do anything fancy and new—it’s just a simple cryptocurrency transaction platform, with a dog slapped on its face.

Dogecoin has stayed low in value with very small transaction fees, allowing it to be a cryptocurrency that people actually use, instead of just hold on to as an investment. Dogecoin has become the most popular coin to tip people over the internet in appreciation for their content.

Let’s say a person wants to send 10 cents to someone for their helpful comment on Reddit, for example. In Bitcoin, that’s currently 0.000006 BTC. But 10 cents translates to 6.02 DOGE, a much easier conversion rate. Plus, the transaction will be much faster and cheaper than BTC. For this reason, Dogecoin has become the most popular coin to use for rewarding others quickly and easily. It’s a common occurence to see Reddit and Twitter users tipping each other small amounts of DOGE for entertaining content.

Zcash community was in another time of ecstasy after one of the biggest digital exchange platforms Gemini announced the Zcash listing on its platform. Although the exchange listing was announced last week, Zcash officially opened for trade on Gemini.com only a few hours ago.

This exchange has brought a lot of excitement for Zcash HODLers and users as the asset was hit by two exchange delisting this week. With the listing, Gemini.com became the World’s first licensed Zcash exchange. The trade volume of Zcash is up by over 40 million USD from yesterday.

as the protocol developed, matured, and the ecosystem expanded. The market-cap surpassed $1 Billion, and it is now well supported on various exchanges.

There are many repeated concerns and sources of misinformation spread about Zcash and, while the technology is still in its infancy, it is rapidly evolving to actively address these concerns. Such concerns primarily focus on the nature of the trusted setup, the performance cost of completing a shielded transaction and the fact that private transactions are not mandatory for all Zcash transactions.

We’ve seen that Zcash is doing plenty to keep itself in contention in the privacy coin contest. The development history is good, they frequently inform the community of their progress, they are backed by a solid team with research experience, and their Github page is active.

Zcash is also hosting a conference in Montreal, called Zcon0, at the end of June, the details of which we will shortly receive.

For example, Monero is one of the hottest privacy coins. It utilizes a different system called ring signatures to ensure privacy, and it has the benefit of being on the market much longer than its competitors. Some believe Zcash’s Sapling upgrade will make scaling and mobile transactions possible, setting it up to overtake Monero. For that, we’ll have to wait until September. In the meantime, it will be interesting to see how the development of different privacy coins pans out.

Zcash is a cryptocurrency based on a decentralized Blockchain, aiming for making transactions more private than they are in the Bitcoin blockchain. ZEC (Zcash token) transactions, like Bitcoin’s, are published in a public Blockchain, but unlike Bitcoin Zcash allows users to selectively disclose private information.

Zcash provides two types of keys: a “view key” and a “spend key.” While the latter is used to spend funds, the former is used to allow some individuals to see private information about your transactions. View keys may be used for an audit or sharing information without disclosing it to the entire world.

Zcash also provides encrypted memo fields that offer an opportunity of delivering messages to the recipient of the transaction that only a view key holder can see. This can be used to deliver simple messages, or such things as payment code sand confidential or commercial information.
