In my opinion regular investors control the market. I accept there are some whales but these whales can not make a big manipulation without regular investors.Because of that we can see always some fake news or fuds etc. I believe all of these fake news are coming from whales to manipulate average investors trading movements. So yes markets can be manipulated and now manipulating but the biggest power is us.
