Bitcoin: The New Religion?

No, please differentiate between Bitcoin and religion because it is exactly different. Many people may believe in Bitcoin but it doesn't mean to consider it as a religion. Religion is something sacral and also some people may not believe on religion. Bitcoin is about money and technology

At least it's silly to call Bitcoin a religion. Money has never been called a religion. It was that they prayed to the golden calf, and this was condemned by both God and people. Bitcoin is simply a technology in the financial arena that can only exist on the Internet. Therefore, Bitcoin has nothing to do with religion and has nothing divine.

I am reading some Bitcoin stuffs online and this headline caught my attention: "Is Bitcoin a religion? If not, it soon could be" and I thought to myself that maybe to some people indeed Bitcoin is functioning like some form of faith while already not believing the current financial and monetary set-up established by our government a long time ago.

But honestly, since I have my own religious beliefs to, I can not be easily carried away by any religious and emotional appeals, and I realize that there can be many people like me who might not like the idea of brining Bitcoin into the religious realm.

Now, having said that, do you think there can be advantages to Bitcoin if we start linking it to religious matters?

For me, I will normally see all these kinds of statements as not a figure of speech which does not literally mean a Religion like the Faith Religion. People have been using the Phrase "Worship Money" when people tend to pay too much attention to Money likewise what we see with Bitcoin now. People take Bitcoin as a new savior in terms of the financial system and some are doing everything to see it as the ULTIMATE thing that will take over every other financial instrument.
