Lately, I have been using the Electrum mobile wallet which according to me is a pain. It does not show the correct price of Bitcoin some time and it has a clumsy user interface. I still like the desktop version but in the current scenario where most of the financial transactions are done using a mobile, I am looking for a good Bitcoin mobile wallet. Before Electrum I was using the Mycelium wallet which I was happy with until they started spamming my phone with their advertisement notification and adding Ethereum blockchain. I mean where did the exclusivity for Bitcoin go for those who developed it?

Please suggest an exclusive Bitcoin wallet for mobile devices that can also work as an LN wallet. Thanks in advance!
I am a mobile user. I do all my work with mobile. Starting from Bitcoin wallet with mobile we do Bitcoin transactions through this mobile. But the wallet I use as my bitcoin wallet for my mobile is trust wallet. I use trust wallet with mobile and it works fine for me. Maybe many people don't like trust wallet here I say it's personal choice. But I am using another wallet I can suggest you to use that wallet exodus or blue wallet. You can use Exodus Wallet or Blue Wallet.

Trustwallet and Exodus wallet are both close source. It means their codes are not revealed to public. There might be something going on underneath that the developers could know but the users do not know. Like spyware or backdoor. That is the reason close source wallet is not recommended. There are many bitcoin wallets that are open source like Electrum, Sparrow and Bluewallet. Also know that mobile wallet are online, cold wallets are more secure and better to be used for high amount of money.

The wallet I have used the most on mobile is BlueWallet... this wallet is quite easy and simpler for me to use for small transactions. The application is light and the features are compact...

LN? Of course you can, https://bluewallet.io/docs/create-lightning-wallet/

The most important thing for me is that this wallet supports the RBF feature because sometimes I don't want transactions to wait too long, so with this RBF feature I don't need to worry that the BTC I send will still be accelerated with a higher fee.

But if you want to use Bluewallet for lightning network, you have to connect to your own node by providing your own node address. Bluewallet run channel which can be used to connect before but not anymore. Bluewallet is a good mobile wallet. It also has coin control and CPFP. Other good mobile wallet that I know are Electrum and Samourai. But one thing about Samourai is that you will need to set RBF, I think it is not set by default.

But one thing about Samourai is that you will need to set RBF, I think it is not set by default.

I don't remember that I had to manually confirm RBF in that wallet - I know that in the settings there is a possibility to enable/disable this option, but somehow it seems to me that it is enabled by default.

For those who don't want to think too much when it comes to LN, I've read a lot of good things about the Phoenix Wallet - supposedly everything is automated to the point that no complicated actions are necessary.

I could remember that I made transaction on Samourai that did not support replace-by-fee. I had to later enable it. I have just downloaded it on another device just now and the RBF feature is disabled by default.

Phoenix is good. Munn wallet is good. Wallet if Satoshi is good. There are other good ones like them. But those are for those that do not want to open their own channel. It makes it easy and less complicated. Making lightning network easy for newbies to access.

First of all I need to keep bitcoin exchange wallet most of the time for investing and trading but I am using electrum wallet as wallet to hold my btc for long time. I have some experience of using all other wallets but using Electrum wallet is much safer and more acceptable to me than all other wallets. I believe in the long term plan if I keep my bitcoins in Electrum wallet then my bitcoins will be safe in that wallet. Many people may use different mobile wallets it is their personal matter but I personally find Electrum wallet more secure.

That is the best idea and decision to make, we should use exchanges as a temporary means of holding our asset only because we are trading it while the use of non custodial wallet could be the best means to hold our bitcoin for a long time, but many never know the reasons why all these are given, they thought there's is difference in using the two category, yet they never care the reasons behind why many looses their assets on exchanges.

The most important issue that comes up for Bitcoin holding is wallet selection. There are risks involved in storing Bitcoins if you don't choose a good and fully secure wallet. But nowadays there are facilities to install many popular wallets on computers or PCs as well as on Android apps. Although Electrum wallet did not have a mobile version in the past but now provides the facility of mobile version along with the desktop version. I am currently using Electrum wallet and it has many benefits and so far I have not experienced any hacking of this Electrum wallet.

Thanks for the check, I really wasn't sure that this option was disabled after installing the wallet and I really wonder why that is - because for many who are not experienced, RBF can be of great help when the situation with mempool suddenly worsens and their transaction gets stuck. Maybe that wallet is more intended for those who are a little more experienced, who are still left to choose which option to use and which not to use.

Phoenix is good. Munn wallet is good. Wallet if Satoshi is good. There are other good ones like them. But those are for those that do not want to open their own channel. It makes it easy and less complicated. Making lightning network easy for newbies to access.

LN can succeed on a larger scale only if it is reduced to something very simple, as these wallets do - otherwise it is difficult to expect that someone who has problems with ordinary wallets can understand how to open a channel and make an LN transaction.

I take lesson with last month problem when high traffic of bitcoin transaction and need to pay more bigger fees for sending bitcoin take decision hold bitcoin in my exchange wallet.
I don't know which one mobile wallet for holding bitcoin have feature with Lightening network, its good when sending each other wallet not required fees yet.

Re: What Bitcoin Mobile Wallet are you using?
« Reply #41 on: March 20, 2024, 10:00:07 AM »
Support lightening network? I don't have any ideas which one the mobile bitcoin wallet with this feature, right now I used only trustwallet but most of my assets holding in exchange wallet although some people think too risk.
This is page 3 and you just read the OP and posted your own reply which is highly not necessary. You need to read some replies first and see if OP question have been answered and also if you will quote some people and add to what they post or against what they post. Some people like to mention Trustwallet and yet they are corrected that it is close source while also you said you did not know any mobile wallet that has lightning network feature while many people has stated some already. I do not see your post to be necessary at all but just a repetition of what some people have already posted.

I mainly don't use lightning network because its adoption rate is very low and when I open a channel I have to lock some bit of bitcoin first. So I use SegWit (bech32) wallet and for that I use both Electrum and Trust wallet. I would put trust wallet a bit ahead in this aspect because here you can use it with multi coins. And if you only need a wallet for bitcoins then you can use the electrum wallet. Moreover, for Lightning wallet, I think BlueWallet and Breez will be the best. If you want, you can try using these two wallets. If I say one advantage of Breez wallet then you can receive 0.01 Bitcoin as lightning payment.

Please suggest an exclusive Bitcoin wallet for mobile devices that can also work as an LN wallet. Thanks in advance!

There is no need to transfer Bitcoins from the mobile wallet when investing in a mobile wallet normally and if the investment is intended to be held for a long period of time. However, the need for exchange wallets is always necessary, so we need to keep our money in exchange wallets. Just as we can use money for investment through exchange, we can use that money in trading by keeping money in exchange, so the two importances are immense in two ways. Just because some exchanges cheated investors doesn't mean all exchanges cheated investors. We have to trust because we have little choice but to trust. Since we have to use the exchange wallet, if we don't trust it, we can't deposit money into the exchange account properly.

A classic shitposter that unfortunately has its place in a campaign it doesn't deserve. It's kind of sad in a way, because people like him will never learn anything because they don't really want to. I would still understand that someone is not interested in LN and therefore does not know which wallet has support for it, but I do not understand why people continue to take risks by storing their coins on exchanges...
