ETH is ranked third

Yes ethereum is best after bitcoin but ethereum was moved to third place . Ethereum and Ripple both coins are different technologies so definitely ethereum will rise again .

Although ranking is there for a purpose but i does not think eth being third is a big problem and eth is third now does not mean that it will be there forever dropping down might also be good so the eth team will know they need to buck p to get back their status.

i think the big reason that make the ETH go to third position in the market that is decline of the market, exacly the bitcoin drop deeply price.
when the market rise, i believe the ETH can take the second in cmc

Even if Ethereum is at third place on capitalization, Ethereum's volume is two times higher than Ripple and

Yes it's trade volume is higher than Ripple trade volume it very big different . Few weeks ago Ethereum already dropped third rank in coinmarketcap but it recovered very quickly but this time it's maintaining for few days . I think this is just few days ethereum will rise again soon.
