This is just one of those days where bitcoin shows its market dominance. If it drops, everything drops.

On the case of Eth, the first scheduled hardfork (not Constantinople) is over I think. It's probably the reason why the price dropped a lot today. Many dumped and will probably buy back for the second fork on the 13th (just my hunch).

I think Ethereum lost it's pace because of the upcoming hard fork. We should notice that during the last drops, there was panic selling, and slow recovery. This means the long-term players get in.

There is no need to get confused actually both are give quite good fight to each other even I will not amazed if ethereum again surpasses XRP in coming days. This is high volatile market and this will happen now and then. There is no game it all depends on the buyers.

As we see that the Ethereum is facing its down price again on the market. It only needs few days and then Ripple can replace the ETH on the second position on CMC. I know that it may not give the big influence, but the trust of the people in Ripple will be higher after all.
