Of course many projects are now dead due to several reasons that might have led to that. Most of the reasons stem from the fact that the project was ran by inexperienced team members who could not carry the project to its full realization. Others are also dead because they could not reach the soft cap or hard cap which was meant to take the project to its goal.

If because the team that developed the project has no experience I agree with your opinion. all ico projects that do not reach hardcap will die and the value of the project will decrease when it exists on the exchange. unless they have a small amount of supplay.

one reason id lack of planning, this is a big one. Just because you have a great website and a whitepaper doesn’t mean you’re anywhere close to being ready to schedule your ICO. The effort it takes is truly under appreciated. Go have a chat with individuals who have managed even successful token sales and listen as they easily list 20 things they would have done differently if they spent more time planning before launching.

Unsuccessful ICO projects usually do not reach hardcap projects. they will develop as much money earned as ICO sales (not maximally for development)

2. The product of the project seems difficult to apply or lack of interest in people.
3. They choose a marketing strategy that is not effective, not appropriate for the target, or it cannot run well.
4. The lack information of the project related team member, token distribution, future plan of project, token collected during token sale (closed sale and no announcement of sale progress), and etc
6. Bad looking of project design such as Website, ANN, Bounty, Social Media, and etc   
7. Bad current issues of the project (Bad Image)

The biggest factor in the death of a project is the capital fund. And that's common knowledge. Not just funds, but a project can die if there is no adjustment or adaptation to the progress of the times.

The other thing that I think the reason too why some project were being dead is because after the ICO, the team don't have an interest anymore to support the project. The became lazy that makes the project fall until the rice falls and and not able to survive anymore.

There have been many failed ICO projects and are able to bring the money that has been invested by people who join the project. many factors led to the collapse of a project, one of which the project did not achieve token sales target until the end of ICO, some even took the opportunity to collect some money that has been entered from the investor so that it can take advantage for personal interests.

Project failure is very common nowadays and i think more than a half of project are not successful that's the reasons why many bounty hunters today are hopeless in terms of bounty campains because there are so many campaigns that are not paying well.
