Title: Transaction has [Out of Gas] or [Bad jump destination] error

When a transaction fails due to a [Bad jump destination] or [Out of Gas] error, the ETH actually never leave your account.

Yeah, you're right. Whatever token is been sent still remains when a transaction fails. Only the gas fees is debited thus when you don't set it right or when the token is locked especially on the exchange.

but the gas used for the transaction is spent entirely

Well that's still okay rather than lose a big amount of cash of your tokens that you wanna send :-\
