No, you can't.
Those were different things, you can plead guilty, accept the fine, and then the judge finds you not guilty, but the fine will still be valid since you accepted it in the plea agreement, once you enter one there is no turning back, you can't even try to oppose the sentence and demand a re-trial, CZ new that and he accepted it from the start.
That's one of the reasons he got only 4 months, normally you get less than half of the maximum when you enter a guilty plea agreement.

Thanks for the information, I was completely unaware of what the process was like. From what you say, CZ cannot avoid jail time, but he can at least reduce the length of the sentence.

I guess it's the best deal CZ can get, but it still seems abusive considering he has always cooperated with justice. We'll see what finally happens when this is all over.

It wasn't a bug because I contacted admin myself when my profile's activity was frozen, he said the activity freeze is natural during ranking and it will be unfreeze if certain requirements are met. I believe the admin has changed some code on the forum and now we may not see that activity freeze anymore, however we need to hear from the admin first.

It's not a bug, it's a feature of the forum. And I don't think this feature is going to be eliminated (although it could be modified by the administrator if he has a new idea to implement) since, although it may not seem like it, it prevents some users from writing large amounts of meaningless posts with the intention of increasing the ranking of their accounts, and it also means that the user must spend more time connected to the forum, posting at a slower speed, always looking for a balance.

It is very much possible. I don't know if you have an account on the Bitcointalk forum or not. But I have seen the campaign manager doing this. For example, you are in the Mixero campaign and the manager is Royse. He runs the same campaign on BitcoinTalk and this campaign has bigger payments for users who have more than three thousand merits. If I remember correctly, the users with more than 3000 merits were getting $5 per post which is incredible. Currenctly, the campaign pays 1.2 USD because the forum does not have activity like Bitcointalk. Managers may increase the pay rate as the forum grows and I am sure that the Karma and the rank will be considered as fact in the future.

It is normal that the payments here are quite low, due to the traffic as you already know. But if the forum continues to grow (even little by little) we will surely have more campaigns with better payments and greater "rivalry", something that is always good, for products and brands and also for users. But maybe it's too early to talk about it, now we should continue contributing everything we can.

Binance / Re: Binance CZ founder to surrender passport judge's ruling
« on: April 30, 2024, 07:55:51 PM »
I don't know if it is possible to pay a fine (even a large one) to avoid those 18 months in prison, since I don't know the United States penal system. But unfortunately, if it is not possible to solve it with a fine, I think CZ will go to prison. They are very clear about where they are aiming, and are the best-known figures in the cryptocurrency industry, I think someone in that country might call it a witch hunt. Whatever happens, it is clear (as I said in another post) from which country the decisions are orchestrated, which may be other countries, on other continents, can imitate later.

Ask a Moderator / Re: Moderators in forum
« on: April 30, 2024, 07:35:59 PM »
Who can vote than?
Is this some closed circle of moderators, admins and managers in forum?
If you guys want to make forum really more decentralized than voting should include more members, starting with higher ranked active members.

In reality, that's right, it is a "small" closed circle (moderators, judges, administrator and some more), which from the beginning of the forum decides by vote who would be president and vice president.

Your suggestion (you can write a thread about it in the corresponding subforum if you want) I don't know to what extent it could be carried out. As you know since the arrival of the mixers, and many users, the forum has seen quite a few changes, listening to suggestions from users, but I don't know if the administrator would be willing to open voting. But logically I could be wrong.

Dogecoin Forum / Re: Future of dogecoin

people have their own decisions, buy hold and sell their coins. And they must understand the consequences.
There is no guarantee that there will be a bullish season next year, but learning from the 4-year cycle, Bitcoin and altcoins will experience a bullish season a year after the halving. that's a reality that always happens

Unfortunately, not everyone thinks about the consequences of their actions until it is too late and there is no solution. It's true, there are no guarantees, although history tells us that a year has always passed after the halving, but I also think that at some point that could stop being the case and frustration (and possible coin sell-off) could wreak havoc on the market, which could put us closer to a collapse and a possible bear market later. Being “used” to something can mean that when something else happens, we don't know how to act in the new situation.

Bugs & Tech support / Re: [BUG] You already submitted this post!
« on: April 30, 2024, 06:01:57 PM »
I faced the similar bug a couple of times and I thought it's due to the internet outage while posting but when I checked the post history, it's not actually there so I have to close the tab and cause even refreshing gives the same bug.

Probably this bug is due to the increase of traffic in the forum?

While it is true that the forum's traffic has increased, it has not done so in an exaggerated manner with thousands of users connected at the same time, for example. That could cause this type of error and maybe others due to server and database load, but I don't think that's why, I'm not sure. The administrator could provide more information on this. So far it hasn't happened to me again so I guess it wasn't anything serious.

@Findingnemo please, if it happens again, write a post with details like the date, time and the browser you use so I can tell the administrator to take a look. Thank you.

Smart play from Wasabi team, but there is no guarantee this will protect them from anything.
Phonix wallet did something similar with removing their apps from stores for all US citizens.
People think only US is the problem, but it's not, this is coordinated worldwide attack on people and privacy.

I'm not sure it's a good idea to make KYC mandatory, in case the team is thinking about it. That would immediately mean the loss of a large percentage of users who, precisely what they are looking for, is that no one requires them to do KYC to try to maintain privacy. Like the Phoenix wallet team, the US cryptocurrency market is the largest, as I remember.

Personally, I don't think the United States is the problem, but I think you will agree with me that right now everything is orchestrated from that country. At least in the news we don't see cases like this coming from other countries, and if such cases exist, they must be very few.

Dogecoin Forum / Re: Will DOGE be defeated by SHIBA?
« on: April 29, 2024, 07:38:03 PM »
At least Shib still has a bright future because many have entered large exchanges and it will be easy to make Shib increase its price depending on market conditions. Hopefully next year when the altcoin season can have an influence on shib price movements.

Entering an exchange with high volume (or the highest volume, like Binance) does not guarantee the success of a project. It means that it will have more exposure in the market and that more users will know about that project, but little else. How many projects that entered Binance, for example, were subsequently delisted?. The answer is that many projects were eliminated, due to lack of development, lack of interest, lack of investment... Aafter all, memecoins only serve to make quick money, since contributing to the industry does not contribute anything or innovate, and to that we must add the enormous (and unnecessary) total supply they have.

Forum related / Re: Campaigns and Forums Traffic
« on: April 29, 2024, 05:32:51 PM »
It is true that the forum traffic is not very large, especially if we compare it with BTT traffic, but although it may seem to many of you that there is little traffic, I can assure you that it is quite high compared to previous years. Signature campaigns logically have a lot of traction and make BTT users and other new users register on the forum. I hope that over time, users will not only write threads/posts for the dollars they can receive, but because they will find this forum a comfortable place to talk about cryptocurrencies. I know it's difficult for what I'm saying to happen, but a long time ago the traffic the forum has now was a dream.

Is it a member rank or newbie accounts can give + karma in the past? I never know that it is the rule in the past, it's a good decision for the admin to increase the requirement to senior member before a user can send + karma. It's prone to  karma abuse.

One more thing, can we know what is this gift that you are talking about? As a teleported user, this is new to me as I only received Karma since I started to teleport here, but no gifts 😏

Since I registered on the forum, the ability to send karma has always been from Senior Members and higher ranks, and I believe it has always been that way since the beginning of the forum. If I'm wrong someone correct me. I think the requirements, for now, are fine, but if you have any suggestions you can write a post in the appropriate subforum.

I think the gifts @Power420 is referring to is karma, he may be referring to forum tokens, which have nothing to do with karma, but I'm not sure. It is better to wait for @Power420 to visit the thread and clarify it.

Ask a Moderator / Re: Moderators in forum
« on: April 29, 2024, 04:06:02 PM »

Thank you.
I think moderators could receive small alt token payments in this forum as additional motivation to do their work better.
This can be in form of airdrop or more stuff unlocked in forum.

Can regular members like me vote and how?

The moderators receive tokens from the forum from time to time, but I meant that they don't pay us monthly (although I don't know how often they do this) like they do, for example, on BTT. In any case, personally it is a topic that does not worry me, since I have not even stopped to think about it after the years I have been on this forum.

The answer to your question is no. Not everyone can vote when electing a new president.

Very useful guide. I receive warning today,in which exactly post or posts so that i can improve?

You have not received just one warning, you have received a total of five warnings.

The reasons, as you see, are varied. But today's warning is due to this post (already deleted) without any sense:

The appearance of sexuality spoils the detailed content of the crypto world, which really has something to learn, read, make something new out of it as inspiration, such as a new project or becoming part of a team. I don't devote my time to such conspicuous things, as I said before, I don't like it. There is less fraud than last year, which is a sign of a good direction.

I have waited almost 48 hours for you to edit your post, or explain if it was some kind of error, but you haven't done anything until you've seen the warning.

As for your question about which posts you can improve, the answer is all of them. But improving your posts does not mean that you put more words without any meaning, it means that your posts are coherent with the topic at hand. The warning will disappear, if your posts improve, we will see what we can do about the strike after a few months.

And remember, don't be in a hurry to reach the next rank, as you see, it is a double-edged sword.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Anonymity - good or bad?

Okay, I will do that in the future. I thought that maybe I was missing something, and that was why I didn't understand the person's response!

No, you weren't missing anything, don't worry.

@Doovla did not modify his post after almost 48 hours, nor did he explain if it had been a mistake. After 5 warnings, the user receives the first strike. The post that didn't make sense in this thread has also been deleted.
