Just being curious on trust wallet charges

I had this experience with trust wallet with respect to their transaction charges some days ago. I do not know if any body here has had similar experience so I had to create this topic so we could discuss it properly. Here was what happened that very day.

I had to transfer an amount of btc to my exchange wallet and the fee amounted to $13 worth of btc.  I reduced the fee down to $6 worth of btc which was okay accepted and approved and did not take much time to get confirmed but something seems to baffle me. While conducting the transaction, i saw all the fees but at the entire end after confirmation, I checked the fee payment to my greatest amazement, what I saw as the transaction fee was $10 worth of btc, I shouted because it seems to look like an imagination because I was sure of what I did and I knew the fees I reduced it to so how come it increased
? Is it that there was some sort of hidden charges or what. I am still curious till this moment as to what really happened because it is still a mystery to me. I could not upload the pictures as it was not something I expected to happen i was just curious to check my fees onchain only to confirm what I spent on fee which is not good.

This was the reasons I had to create this topic so we could discuss and share our experience in the course of using trust wallet.

Perhaps the bitcoin price increased during that time? hence it jumped to 10 bucks.

Possibly, as you have said, there must have been a hike in price that exact time while I was carrying out the transaction but there should have been a prompt to notify me of change in transaction fee so that I would have known. I think this is another aspect trustwallet  would need to look into and upgrade their wallet app to get such notification features unlike other wallets.

Another thing I noticed is the final transaction approval prompt which they do not have compared to electrum and bluewallet. They always have that prompt transaction approval notification before any further steps so If in the case of one notices any error in their transactions, they would effect some corrections immediately.

I am saying this because of my experience with trustwallet app on several occasions. I had such experience and it was not worth the experience. I have lost money to miners all in the name of transaction fee because of trustwallet inability to provide a final transaction approval prompt which they would reverse the blame to the individual as the sole custodian of their wallet.

Since the trust wallet is simple and does not support sending to more than one address, you will need to go to https://mempool.space and choose Medium Priority or High Priority (if you want to confirm the transaction quickly) or Low Priority if you want to wait, and then before broadcasting the transaction, click on the button at the top left of the screen and adjust the fees to the number that appears to you at https://mempool.space. This way you have allocated the fees and will not have to pay a lot of fees.
