Cameroon Vs Nigeria
Cameroonians didn't have a very nice smooth in their group matches just like Nigeria had. Although many people said that Nigeria qualified with alot of luck. Will this luck follow them to the knockout stage?

I have learnt that Cameroon has invited their star striker Vincent Abubakar. This is obviously not a goodnews for Nigerians but from the head to head of both countries, Nigeria has the higher wins.

Of a truth the Nigeria team never had a good ride to their victory and current position but I believe they are in good form to face the cameroon football team and the super eagles of Nigeria need to put more  effort to strengthen themselves and their defense so that the cameroon team would not get close.

A big congratulations to the Nigerian team today for qualifying for the quarter finals in the ongoing AFCON 2024 tournament, and this the Nigerian team did with really high flying colors.
I think I've never seen Nigeria play such a good game before in terms of defense, just wow, they gave the Cameroonians no single chance at all, even though Cameroon had the most ball possessions, they werent just able to penetrate the Nigerian defence as they had zero shots on target, while Nigeria had four.

Nigeria scored a total number of 3 goals but 1 goal was canceled because it was an offside, the remaining 2 goals score by Lookman, with the first one assisted by osimen.
The Cameroon side were not able to get a single goal, so the match ended in a 2:0 with Nigerian winning and qualifying for the quarter finals while cameroon goes home.

Wonderful ball play today from Nigeria, so much love it.

The boys had a fantastic game tonight. The indomitable lions were more possessive, they lack the finishing touches or should I say the super eagles did well to keep them quiet as they had no shot on target. The super eagles sat back, and were absorbing pressure while they kept looking for space to exploit. It's been long I saw them play like this, I just hope they can replicate same performance in their next game.

Cape Verde has been brilliant through out this tournament and would be looking to extend that into the knockout stages, Mauritania are playing with no pressure and teams can be dangerous when there is little expectation of them.

Senegal is no joke and they are in better form, but H2H matches of this two teams are usually tight.
I think that draw in regular time is possible or narrow win for Senegal.

A draw is not far fetched. Ivory Coast has disappointed their fans and now have a second shot to change the course of their tournament, I would not under estimate them.

I will keep speaking good about the super eagles. I knew they would win the match and I am happy about their performance. So far they have done well but they should not allow their victories get into their heads but rather remain focused on their games to becoming victorious. They have a very tough contender ahead and as such should keep fit and in form so that they do not make any silly mistake that game day.
I wish them the very best as I will lead  good cheers for them from my end here in support of their match and victories.

Cape Verde dominated the game right from the beginning to the end, I'm kind of surprised they couldn't win by a much wider margin. They got awarded a penalty kick in the 88 min which their winger Mendes converted to a goal.

I didn't know the elephants got the best loser spot. They've sacked their coach, they've not beaten Senegal in the last 3 meetings, and they put up poor performance in the group stage. The odds are not in their favour, it will take a miracle for them to scale through.

 I thought Senegal would be the better team especially how they started the match with an early goal and how excellently in this year Afcon but in the end, the defending champion could not advance more.

Mendy did well but the fact that He is not good at saving penalty really affected them today, all the goals he conceded were from the penalty spot which include the first goal by the Ivory Coast which lead to the penalty shoot out and while he also cause the penalty, I still think he did great today

When Senegal scored in the 4th minute, I thought it's going to rain goals but I was wrong. And like I said earlier, that it'd take a miracle for the Ivorians to make it to the next round of the competition. Truly, it was a miracle and luck was on their side. The penalty came in the 86th minute which they converted to restore parity and the game came to an end. When the match got to penalty shootout, it's all about luck, and they were just lucky yesterday.

I really like this Cape Verde team. They are doing well in this tournament and this is the first time I am seeing this team in AFCON games. The remaining teams to be predicted to play the final and win the cup is Mali and Morocco though Nigeria is also on the pipeline but not really consider as one. The knocking out of those teams is unexpected but it has happened so let see who of going to win this year tournament and my instinct is telling me that Morocco will win it or Nigeria. Any of these two can win if they work hard to achieve the goal of the team.

This years African Nations Cup seems to be for the underdogs. Majority of the countries that we are predicted to lift the African Nations Cup trophy are already out of the competition. The remaining big names seems to be Ivory coast and Nigeria. But for the fact that South Africa was able to eliminate Morocco should mean that we should not count them out in the title race. Mali is also another good side to be considered but I'm a general note we can say that the African Nations Cup title is very much open to any country.

There shouldn't be a lot of surprises if any country is able to win the African Nations Cup. So the competition is quite open to everybody because there are no much trouble for anybody because the most powerful countries are already eliminated in the competition.
