if i am to quit i would likely be looking for another hubby to divert my attention to forget playing on casinos.
for an addict to quit, this should also be an option as there are lots off things to enjoy other than gambling. you could even join some fun run program or just becoming an angler will be a good alternative as you can easily find some facebook group that will allow you to be part of a community.

if you chose to find a hubby like paintball shooting, there are groups like this on facebook and simply just join and maybe attend to their shooting games. with this you can gradually forget gambling.

I will only quit gambling if i lost access in the internet as i never gamble on any physical casinos as we don't have it here in our area.

Well, if you are talking for those problematic gamblers they really need to seek professionals to give them advise and of course, become a responsible adult to face those problems, not those who pretend they will quit but later on will try again.

What can I do to quit gambling?
Guys shear your opinion about the question, it might be helpful to someone who is trying to quit.

First step that I think an addicted gambler can be helped is if they first realize that they are addicted and wants to change from their compulsive gambling habit. There were time when I was gambling more often but yet I was still gambling responsibly. If you want to stop gambling totally, then I will advise you to open a lock savings account, to that any time you receive salary you just have to send 80% of your salary to that lock safe and only keep 20% for your personal needs. If you decide to spend all the 20% on gambling, then you will have to face the consequences until you receive salary for another month.

You can also cave out a gambling time table and the amount that you should gamble off in every week, it will help you not to over gamble and reduce the rate of your compulsive gambling.

For me I think engaging your self in other things that will not remind you of gambling is a good way to quit gambling.
Die it may take time since you're already addicted to it but consistently engaging your self will show a positive result.

My humble opinion is considered hereunder:
- Deactivate all your betting accounts.
- Restrict all the betting sites on your phone or laptop.
- Avoid going to a betting shop
- Unfollow all the betting-related accounts you follow on social media
- Plan your monthly income and don`t reserve any for betting
- Tell a friend and family member about your plan to quit so that they can put eyes on you and ensure you dont gamble.

You don't need to ask though, I mean if everyone here is addicted or at least losing big money, then what they want to do is quit gambling for good. But the problem is that it's very hard to do that. Maybe there were days that after a good gambling run and you are winning, then you think to come back the next day and play again and replicate everything.

But after a losing days, you will then think to quit. However, it might just last like 1-2 days and then you started to come back again and wanted to chase your losses. So it's going to be a vicious cycle, unless you check yourself in a rehab to quit for good.

Another important aspect of quitting gambling is learning to control emotions and urges. These are the factors that can cause a repeat episode, such as stress or a specific environment. Some people find it helpful to avoid situations or people who make them want to gamble. For example, if you frequent a particular casino, it may be beneficial to avoid that region entirely.

It's also critical to recognize the indicators of a possible recurrence. These symptoms may include restlessness, irritability, or anxiety, as well as gambling desires. If you see any of these indicators, it is crucial to contact people who can be of help.

Before talking about quitting let us talk about involving first because there will be no quitter if there are no gamblers.
better before dealing in gambling you must know what is gambling all about and how will you come into this .

But what  you are talking here is indeed there are so many people that spends all their money in gambling and when they wanted to quit? sorry but they cannot.

You can make yourself busy by doing other things that you can enjoy and most likely be able to focus solely on doing that, just like focusing on your job, business, or having more time with your family. You can also consider avoiding going to a physical casino or an online casino where you spend your time.

If you happen to have done this strategy and failed to make any changes to your current situation, which is the gambling addiction, you can seek help from your family and a specialist like a psychiatrist to help you treat your addiction.

The truth remains that you cannot stop someone from engaging in gambling, especially someone of the legal age. It is only proper to instruct gamblers especially newbies how to gamble responsibly to avoid addiction. Once a gambler reaches the point of addiction, it becomes difficult for the gambler to indulge in responsible gambling.

Don't worry OP, you aren't the only one that has this kind of problem. Most of the gamblers are.
Most gamblers don't know how to control themselves especially when it comes to gambling. I've seen people who changed their lives negatively just because they can't stop themselves from gambling. Even if they don't have money anymore, they will find a way for them to make money whether it would be thru selling their items, property or even begging.

What can you do to quit gambling? I guess experiencing the worst part would help you. What do I mean by that? For example, you are renting a small apartment, and you have money. That money will be used to pay your monthly rent but instead, you choose to gamble it and lose. Now you don't have any place to live anymore. This is just an example because I believe most addicted gamblers are facing way worse problems. Most of the gamblers who are experiencing the worst part of their lives through gambling will make them realize, they will change themselves and quit gambling eventually.

Quitting in gambling isn't overnight. It will take time, discipline, and self-control to achieve. This is why most gamblers can't even apply it because it's hard to do in the first place. Getting addicted to gambling is easy, but quitting gambling when you're addicted is very hard.

Maybe I am because my favorite lottery has been involved in controversy and I am not going to waste my time, money and effort to be part of it because I know I am not gonna get a fair game on it here in my country. Though I have hobbies that I might divert my attention to but for now I just want to prioritize my priorities in life. Haha
