ICO mass adoption doesn't look like happening. Many of the running ICOs are currently not doing good, add to that those who already shutdown their public fund raising campaign and decided to go private

​​MDEC keen to work with authorities to develop ICO regulations

Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) is looking forward to work closely with the Ministry of Finance (MoF), Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) and other relevant bodies, to help shape comprehensive regulations and guidelines on digital currency trading and initial coin offerings (ICOs), to be released by the end of the first quarter this year.

In a statement, MDEC said it welcomed the move by the MOF to regulate any form of digital asset exchanges or ICO, which will bring much-needed clarity to this nascent space.

"Furthermore, this progressive view of the potential of the blockchain industry is aligned with Malaysia's Industry 4.0 aspirations and will encourage an additional fundraising channel for entrepreneurs and new businesses," it said.

I also think that the system of ICO is very advanced and interesting to promote such a project. It may be used for the future promotion and method by the other companies, however, it must be clear about the project. So far, ICO has negative issues because of its decrease price, scams, and failed.

I believe so too, yes. But I don't know if it is going to be ICO's or STO's. I am just sure about the situation that blockchain will be adopted.

​​Thai SEC Approves Country’s First ICO Portal

Thailand’s securities regulator has approved the first initial coin offering (ICO) portal in the country,  local daily news outlet the Bangkok Post reported on March 12.

The Thai Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) board of directors has reportedly authorized the first ICO portal that allows to screen ICOs, perform due diligence, confirm smart contract source codes and conduct Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures. The operator of the ICO portal is reportedly a foreign entity.

Archari Suppiroj, director of the fintech department at the SEC, reportedly told the Bangkok Post, “Thailand's first authorized ICO portal is being finalized for official approval with the relevant government agencies such as the Commerce Ministry. ... The first ICO deal will be available for public offering in the near future under the digital asset royal decree.”
