There are custodial and non-custodial exchanges. Put simply, the first ones hold onto your assets that you leave with them which is what makes it vulnerable. Once it's hacked there's nothing you can do but watch. Non-custodial ones only hold your assets for the time necessary to complete the exchange.

I hate exchanges with huge withdraw fees, especially when the prices were high, it was ridiculous, but seems a lot better now.  I love exchanges with no transaction fees, but I didn't find too many of those.

When it comes to choosing exchanges, I choose the exchanges whose interface can be navigated seamlessly.
Exchanges that charge low transaction fees, have good support system in place etc.

Fees might be one of the top consideration for you to choose the right exchange but to me i value speed of deposit and withdrawal more then follow by the volume and price of the coins that is traded at the moment, as most fees for exchange does not differ by a huge amount.

There are too many exchanger in coinmarketcap you see. but maximum exchanger are in problem of exchange because  of trading fee or withdraw fee. Before you trade you knock support group of that exchanger or you can read rules of that exchanger. you will be gainer.
