Is possible for government to place ban on crypto?

My question is that can it be possible for government to place ban on cryptocurrency. As some people may say

I really don't see the possibility of totally stopping the use of crypto currencies by its citizens. It's actually impossible. But then  they can place a ban on official activities involving crypto currencies

I bet countries like China, North Korea or Iran can easily ban mining and punish miners
Although I'm not sure that Koreans can do something even without restrictions

banned in writing maybe yes, but in its action, this is very difficult because crypto has an important role especially for the development of technology and current economy. Crypto uses the internet, and the internet is a zone where people can still be free and avoid avoiding local government law. If for example crypto has been banned, then using crypto silently is the last solution

Legally its very much possible a government can ban cryptos but people will find out other ways to do cryptos. Its very hard for any government to stop it completely.

I dont think any government can outrightly ban crypto, they have areas they can place certain ban just like ICOs advertising or lunching. Crypto is basically an internet business and people surely we get a way out of engaging in it.

I think the answer is no simply because it would take such a coordinated attack involving so many people with so many parameters you'd have about a 0% chance of pulling it off even for an hour...  I guess anything is possible however it would require a crazy amount of resources.
