$11.4 million dollars worth of Bitcoin from 2010 just moved. Why? Someone moved over $11 million worth of Bitcoin that has sat idle in wallets since it was mined in 2010.

The 1,000 Bitcoin—today worth $11,425,000—moved to one address. The move was flagged by Kirill K, a professional cryptocurrency trader, on LinkedIn.

The Bitcoin was mined back in September 2010, when Bitcoin was less than two years old and worth less than 10 cents per coin. Back then, the cryptocurrency was virtually unheard of and very cheap to mine—all the Bitcoin moved today was worth less than $100 in 2010.

Google Trends data shows that interest in both DeFi and Bitcoin is waning. Interest in Bitcoin is declining and attention spans are shortening for the world of decentralized finance (DeFi), if Google trends data is anything to go by.

Google Trends data works like this: Each search term is assigned a numerical value that provides an indication of its popularity. Taken with a pinch of salt, Google's data provides a rough indication of the world's interest in various facets of the cryptocurrency market.

Bitcoin figurehead Anthony Pompliano pointed out popular apps on Ethereum run on centralized cloud service providers—stirring a heated debate. Podcast host and crypto investor Anthony Pompliano debated today that much of the Ethereum network is hosted on third-party cloud services like Amazon Web Services (AWS), a cloud service operated by web giant Amazon. He argued that this means popular decentralized applications (dapps) on the network could theoretically be shut down if AWS were to be shut off.

Bitcoin is in the green, but Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin SV are performing even better. The price of Bitcoin (BTC) has jumped to over $10,700 following news of a $50 million investment by Square—a popular mobile payments company. Square used a total of one percent of its assets to purchase 4,709 Bitcoin—presumably to hodl for the long term.

Today's bullish activity is shown as a jutting green candle on the 24-hour chart, as Bitcoin climbed from $10,629 to its current price of $10,754 in the last 30 minutes. Overall, Bitcoin has now gained one percent in the last 24 hours and has almost recouped the losses incurred following a sudden sell-off on October 1.

Compared to your bog-standard altcoin, DeFi assets are performing particularly poorly. Following a period of rampant speculative activity, decentralized finance (DeFi) assets now appear to be suffering from a major correction.

Though average cryptocurrency has lost 2.9% in the last week, DeFi assets have been hit harder than most in this time. The top 10 DeFi assets have an average loss of 23.4% over the last week. Scaling further back, these DeFi assets have performed even worse, having lost an average of 27.44% in the last 30 days.

According to ZenGo researcher, an individual tried “yield farming” on an allegedly fake DeFi project and lost a lot of cash. An Ethereum user has lost $140,000 worth of UNI, the governance token of decentralized finance (DeFi) platform Uniswap, to yield farming project UniCats, according to Alex Manuskin, researcher at crypto wallet ZenGo.

Over the past weekend, the anonymous user, named “Jhon Doe” for privacy reasons (and deliberately misspelled for unknown reasons), stumbled upon a new yield farming scheme called UniCats and decided to transfer some UNI tokens to its liquidity pool.

Transaction fees, volumes, and transacted amounts have all fallen considerably in the last three weeks. The average Ethereum (ETH) transaction fee reached an all-time high (ATH) of almost $12 last month, causing a major pain point for traders and other ETH users. As a result, Ethereum miners have been racking up record fees, earning a total of $166 million from transaction fees alone in September.

But now, things have largely returned to normal. According to data from Glassnode, the total Ethereum transaction fees earned by miners have fallen from a peak of 42,763 ETH on September 17, down to 5,898 yesterday—equivalent to a decline of 86.2% in under three weeks.
