They Wasabi went a step further. Shutting down its Coinjoin service, effective from June 1st, 2024.
https://blog.wasabiwallet.io/zksnacks-is-discontinuing-its-coinjoin-coordination-service-1st-of-june/
The mistake decentralized mixers did was that they are kind of centralized in one way or the other. A true decentralized system can not be taking down by the government because it will be made up of decentralized nodes instead.

US government are trying all possible means to make cryptocurrencies to be centralized and in a way people can not use it privately, even if it can cause problems in the future to coins holders, they do not care.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: [Edu] Bitcoin Wallet UTXO and Consolidation V2
« on: May 03, 2024, 05:23:11 PM »
Remember that you should consolidate only if the fees are really low.
Like sub 10. (Personally, I consolidate only at 1 sat vB)
The last time I saw the fee rate at 2 sat/vbyte was in November 2023. It has always been high. Although, the mempool became less congested like 1 or 2 months ago and 4 sat/vbyte transactions got confirmed. Even during the 2023 November that 2 sat/vbyte fee rate transactions got confirmation, but the low fee transactions that were to get confirmed were still many and we knew it was not going to 1 sat/vbyte at the time. I think bitcoin tokens that are spamming the network can not make 1 sat/byte fee rate possible anymore.

Just as there are successful day traders I know, there are also many loser traders who have made huge losses through day trading. Now traders have become more aggressive in the hope of quick profit they want to do risky trading like futures trading, which leads a trader to huge losses. Trading is not an easy task it is highly professional's game here many experienced traders also lose money.
All the day traders that I know are losing. You can see them telling you today that they won, they can be telling you many days or weeks that they are winning. But after sometimes they will said that they made a mistake and lost huge amount of money which is more than the money they started using to trade. Trading should not be daily or scalping, it should be for patient people that will know the right time to enter and leave the market.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Keeping your seed phrase safe
« on: May 03, 2024, 01:54:02 PM »
Other ways such as keeping it in hardware wallet or writing it down on a page do have some advantages and disàdvantages.
Hardware wallets are built in a way that you can only verify the see phrase but you can not see the seed phrase after you finish setting up the wallet. Although, maybe not all hardware wallets works this way. But you can not keep your seed phrase or keys in hardware wallet. It is better you write it down on a part or later laminate the paper or get a steel or titanium sheet for it. If you think the offline storage is not enough, you can extend it with passphrase. But some people use to make a mistake and not know that if they lost the passphrase, it is like they lost the seed phrase as they will not be able to have access to their coins.

Well, I can't believe that in 2024 scammers are still using such outdated content, at least they should find some way that is actually more credible ^^ What's even more unbelievable is that many people still continue to be scammed, lose their accounts and crypto assets to scammers because of such silly content.
You answered the question that you can't believe such scam or hack still exists. You later added that some people are still getting scammed. Many people are ignorant and scammers are using a scam means to still be able to scam them. Scammers will continue to use it if people are still falling for the scam and not having any issue with it. Airdrop scam is still common and some people will not understand, especially newbies.

Reputation, Scams & Phishing / Re: Yo mix scam for 1.6 btc
« on: May 02, 2024, 07:23:19 PM »
The last time yomix advertised on BTT, they were not scamming. What has really changed? Trust you checked the URL very well and it is the real yomix you sent your BTC to.
Yo!Mix has turned to a scam mixer. It is better the mixer is avoided. We have tagged their official account on Bitcointalk and also supported the red flag. Since mixers signature campaigns stopped on Bitcointalk, that was the time the mixer become a scam.

Definitely I made a massive mistake all I can do is hope with enough pressure they will return the fund as I said they have bought domain via namecheap and renewed it so they would have have had to pay via card or paypal
Do not expect anything good from that mixer. It is now scam. Use the mixer that you see their signature campaigns or ads on this forum. Yo!Mix stopped advertising and did not come to this forum for advertisement but prefer to become a scam site.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: High fees is a never ending story?
« on: May 02, 2024, 07:17:03 PM »
Already the fee went down 16sat/vb and that could be the cheapest for near term cause there is much TXs that left below this rate which makes it not really possible to go beyond this fee rate at the moment.
The Runes can be the problem in the next bullrun. I have not seen the fee rate gone up to 2000 sat/vbyte before. I do not think that has happen before in history of bitcoin. If Runes hype come again, it will be another network spamming.

But definitely 16sat is a lot cheaper and congestion due to runes cleared pretty quick than expected.
Before we were using 1 sat/vbyte when the network was less congested. 16 sat/vbyte means the transaction is now 16 times more than what we have enjoyed in the past.

Your second post about wasabi - saw one on BTT and now here. What's bad about wassabi?
Many experts said that they are feeding Chainanalysis with users information and censoring UTXOs. Wasabi was a very good wallet before. But there was a news recently that the wallet will be banned from United States. I do not know how true it is. The only thing I do not like about the wallet before the allegations was that it can make newbies confuse that passphrase is password as they represent it with password which is very wrong.

The U.S are very strong in their 'fight' against privacy in the guise of fighting money laundering, but i believe some parts of Europe are also doing the same thing. The wave of attacks against crypto services is spreading and i agree that very soon, it would be almost everywhere, the government will want to know exactly what you do with your coins.
Governments around the world are the biggest scammers with money laundering and crazy taxation system.
I dont see any benefit to anyone, and nobody is going to be protected becasue they arrested some wallet developers.
Some time in future people are going to laugh when they hear and read why they put people in prison for  >:(
Scammers are still seeing many ways to scam successfully with their fiat. Terrorists still spend their fiat but they will be talking about cryptocurrencies if little of it is link to terrorism. Most laundered money are in banks and some are buried somewhere underground most especially by the political leaders. This life is just fucked. Fiat system itself is a scam, they still prefer to go against privacy when their non privacy way is not working.

I have a brother, he messaged me on Whatsapp recently but from how he  was chatting, I knew he was not him. His account was compromised, not him but a scammer. The scammer is using it to contact people he (my brother) saved their contact. He asked me for money and he gave me a bank that you will think you will be able to trace. But if you trace it, it will be linked to an innocent person. I did not even know the bank or what it is. But I know there are many fake KYCs this days on the online banks that you can open directly on your device without going anywhere.

Their fiat system or monetary system is a failure against scam, money laundering, terrorism, banditry and other criminals activities.

News related to Crypto / Re: Russia prepares for total crypto ban
« on: May 02, 2024, 09:35:52 AM »
Though this is truly sad news, I would say that this development will not anymore have any impact with cryptocurrency in general as I think the market has had already discounted Russia and China years ago. Do you agree with me?
They will only try, but their citizens that have already known what crypto will make the ban not to have much side effects. I will not be surprised to still see Russians buying and holding bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. We saw how China banned bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies several times but the price of bitcoin still increased and the adoption continued.

Let's wait and see their verdict, but I heard that other countries like Canada are also looking for him, maybe he can choose better prison.
If I can recall correctly, United States sued not just Binance but also the former CEO and the founder, CZ. I do not think Canada sued CZ but Binanace instead for violation of local securities laws. That Binance sold crypto derivative products to Canadians. I am expecting Binance CEO or a representative to be the one to handle the case instead and should not be about CZ prosecution.

TrustWallet / Re: Do you continue to trust Trust Wallet?
« on: May 01, 2024, 06:42:35 PM »
TrustWallet is more popular because it is mentioned and recommended by many KOLs in the market, but currently I think we can choose many other wallet applications to be able to spread the risk. After all, we cannot know how many vulnerabilities have not been exploited in TrustWallet's closed source code.
Trustwallet is close source. That should be enough reason for you not to trust it as Z-tight already posted about it. It you are referring to trust, it is better to use open source wallets which are trustless as you can read the code use for the build yourself. You do not need to trust anything but read the code yourself if you are able to. This should not be about popularity, it is should about what experienced people in the community, especially what developers that prefer open source software are recommending.

TrustWallet / Re: Is trust wallet secure?
« on: May 01, 2024, 06:35:37 PM »
P.S. Question, is BlueWallet a cold wallet? I haven't heard of it before.  :o
It is a mobile wallet. If you're interested in a mobile wallet, you can check out their Github and build it on your own. It is the alternative for closed-source mobile wallets like TrustWallet on Android and iOS. AFAIK, it is quite popular.
Bluewallet is not only a mobile wallet. Although, it is not having Windows and Linux versions but it has macOS version which is a computer OS for Apple. Bluewallet is not an alternative to Trustwallet because it is a far better bitcoin wallet. Trustwallet is close source and not have 30% of the bitcoin features that Bluewallet has.

Crypto Wallets / Re: Are you using Hardware Wallets?
« on: May 01, 2024, 06:30:23 PM »
Under the non custodial means of storage, we can decided to go for cold storages and they appears in categories, part of which is hardware wallet and that is if we are being capable of securing one from a reliable source, then we can choose other reliable means to store our crypto asset aside the use of hardware wallet, we cannot conclude on that its everyone that actually like any wallet under hardware category, we can go for other cold storages as we may want.
Not all hardware wallets can be considered as cold wallet, the only ones that can be considered as cold storage without much investigation are the airgapped hardware wallets. A Ledger wallet that you can share your seed phrase to third parties online, can that be considered as cold wallet? No. But you can consider hardware wallet like Passport as a cold wallet.

Will this have any effect? For me, I also use commercial banks for my crypto transactions, them stopping the registration of new accounts for those that might want to use it - will it stop them from doing their crypto transactions? And those with an account already will this stop them from their trades?
I also use my commercial banks for Crypto P2P sometimes. Even you can see some people using commercial banks as they pay and receive from commercial banks. Although, Moniepoint, Opay, Plampay and Kuda are mostly used. How will they know they are crypto transactions when they are not labeled as crypto transactions.

Their next target will be apps that issues virtual dollar cards just watch and see.
The government do not just want freedom.

Some commercial banks are even now processing international transfer. I was surprised that my bank card that was disabled by CBN to process YouTube premium was able to process it last month.
