The cryptocurrency market is still nascent. Analysts believe that the looming regulations and challenges may have tamed the prices to slump into a prolonged crypto winter. However, crypto spring seems to have arrived in style with a bitcoin blast off that saw the crypto surge by up to 20% within minutes.

In the early morning hours of April 2, Bitcoin saw its largest positive surge in price for more than four months. The most popular crypto climbed to a 2019 all-time high of $5100 registered on BitMex. The rapid price increase saw BTC reach the November 2018 prices. Also, the whole market cap followed suit and surged by at least $20 billion.

The Pranks

The unexpected takeoff led to many analysts wondering what could have caused it. Some think it is just the normal technical analysis that prompted more buyers to enter the market. However, others believe that the bitcoin blast off took place due to a fools’ day prank. There was a publication circulated on April 1st.

During April fool’s day, the news stated that the SEC had approved the Bitcoin ETF. The decision about this matter has been pending for almost a year now and it would represent good news for the markets potentially resulting in price spikes. The SEC story, sadly, was fake news and was just an April fool’s day joke. https://www.financemagnates.com/cryptocurrency/news/sec-drops-the-bomb-approves-bitcoin-etfs-markets-skyrocket/

Another possible reason for the bitcoin blast off could be the news that Warren Buffet, the American business magnate, was diversifying into Bitcoin. Nonetheless, that was old news that also appeared on April fool’s day, making it fake news too. In the real world, Buffet most recently described BTC as being “a delusion, basically.”

The magnate has also previously called the most popular digital currency a “rat poison squared”.  Thus, it would be a positive injection to the markets if Buffet flipped to the BTC side and become a maximalist for the digital currency. But, that is all fake news.

That's a pretty impressive coincidence if it's actually a coincidence.

The socialblade april fools, of showing income in Bitcoin, Ether and other altcoins reached a lot of people it seems. But I think overall, despite the additional publicity for crypto on april 1st, the technicals were showing that a big move was coming - and there it was.

The rise in Bitcoin prices over the past two days is very impressive. I would like to hope that this will be the beginning of a good growth of the cryptocurrency market. However, usually a sharp jerk in the price goes down. Moreover, such a growth in recent times is really rare. Therefore, I think that if the market goes up, then in the next few days, it will first fall down, in order to start growing again. In the next few days we will see what will happen with the price of Bitcoin.

That would be funny if it were true that some bought because of those false news on April Fools Day. Looking at the chart now, it does not look that way. Many would have instantly cashed out upon finding out that those news weren't true causing a big dump.

Sometimes April Fool brings a negative impact. I can't imagine who has bought BTC with a high price today. But I still see the price is not decreasing till now. BTC price survives around $4,750 and it is not a prank. It is the true rate of Bitcoin on coinmarketcap.

However, even the news was fake or true, the price of Bitcoin has already increased. And it is still increasing to reach a higher rate. I don't think it is all about April's prank. It is the time for Bitcoin to increase, and it happened to coincide with April fool.

Hopefully this is not just a joke that happened in April. But as evidence that there are already signs of a cryptocurrency price increase will begin. And this is not only a temporary increase and will come back down sharply.

If Bitcoin growth would have started because of the April Fool's joke mentioned above, then we would have already seen its price drop to the level as of the end of March. This did not happen, and therefore there is no reason to associate the rise in the price of Bitcoin with an April Fool's joke. Of course, finally it will be possible to say only in a week or two.

Yes as it appears, the Bitcoin and alts price increase the past few days was not a joke. The price came down to $4k level after passing thru $5K but it's showing a strong support so far preventing a further decline.

Perhaps due to these jokes on April 1 there was an uptrend in prices, but I doubt that only a joke could cause prices to rise by 20% in such a short period of time, especially since Bitcoin capitalization rose by $10 billion in a couple of days, this is quite a large amount. Perhaps there were also other reasons for such a large increase in prices.
