A lot of people posting that they successfully recover their funds for a long time but how about those who have lost their Bitcoins? Is it possible in the future that there will be a technology that is specialized in recovering lost Bitcoins in just a matter of minutes or an hour? If that time comes, do Bitcoin hodlers are in trouble too as their funds might also be vulnerable and be compromised?
-
I'm not sure there will ever be, because it is very difficult to detect and if there is such technology, it would be expensive to sell it, maybe the price of the technology is not worth the loss of bitcoins.
-
I don't think lost Bitcoins will ever recover again as we all know we can not access the wallet without keys So without a key it's not seems possible at the moment. If we are able to recover the bitcoin with different technology then certainly Bitcoin holders will be at risk because the technology can be misused. But I don't think it will possible as BTC is decentralized.
-
The idea is seemingly going to Mars.
It takes time before the successful launching.
There are stages to progress.
Solid and perfect prototype is a must.
Recovering the lost cryptos is possible in the future.
Creative and intelligence people loves the impossible complex codes and make it to possible.
In the past it was impossible to fly on the air.
Not in the present coz there are a lot of development advance technology that make it possible.
Good topic.
Appreciated

It is absolutely impossible and unlikely to happen. What kind of technology can find a lost wallet key ?! It looks like the lost Bitcoin will be lost forever and will not be found again.
-

The lost Bitcoin must have been left by the owner, or something else because we forgot the password and recovery key to get the same wallet address, in the future there may be such technology, in 2019 I have seen an article about quantum computers that can open encryption in a few minutes, I think if it is correct and used properly, then the lost Bitcoin can be retrieved by hacking the Bitcoin wallet address that someone left because that person died or forgot the recovery key
-
The question of the possible recovery of lost bitcoins, as a rule, is associated with the new capabilities of quantum computers, which, as predicted, can solve this problem in a matter of minutes. The emergence of such computers is not as much a matter of the future as many believe. China is already shipping low-power quantum computers to schools to learn how they work. So soon they will appear in large quantities. Of course, cryptocurrency holders, and especially large holders, are reasonably worried about the safety of their wallets.
Therefore, it is absolutely possible to recover secret keys from wallets to which access has been lost. After all, bitcoin in this case does not go anywhere. Everything remains on the blockchain.
-
I don,t think so that there is any new technology that recover the BTC loss because in the crypto market so many things that the investors see and then they invest and the market go high.
-
I think this is impossible. In the investment climate, gains and losses are common. How could money that has been spent hope to return? Except in the case of system errors, maybe it can be improved so that potential losses are minimized ...
-
The truth is that I do not believe that it will happen, that some "technology" will appear to recover the lost Bitcoins. There is an unknown amount, ranging from 3 to 4 million Bitcoins lost, if something were to make them appear again, how would it be reflected in the current value of Bitcoin?. I don't think the appearance of those Bitcoins was positive for their current value, and I don't think they will appear again.
-
It felt like it could not be happening. Deliberately creating new technology to restore lost items with little potential for change is futile. Better to think about how bitcoin got bigger and impacted the profits of many people
-
what do you think the program should be that will be able to recover lost bitcoins? And also answer your question, what does the lost Bitcoin mean? The fact is that, to a greater extent, the lost Bitcoin is bitcoins, the owners of which have lost access to them or, for one reason or another, the owners have disappeared. This means that the program for recovering lost Bitcoin will most likely resemble the capabilities of a hacker who steals Bitcoin from other people's wallets.
-
I also totally agree with what @Arkann has said. If that technology appeared, who would know who those Bitcoins belong to?. Who could know if those Bitcoins are lost or belong to someone who is saving them since the first blocks were mined?. I think no one could know that so to be fair it's better if nothing shows up.
-
yes I think this will be resolved if we refer to it in the future, because technology will be more sophisticated and up to date according to the times. But the question is whether at that time the position of bitcoin will remain the same or has it been reborn with a new version in accordance with the ever-evolving technology. the experts are preparing, we will see that the innovators in technology are planning something for the future.
-
If there is technology like that, I don't know if it feels like it will benefit people who lose their funds, but I find such technology difficult
-
I hope nothing like that ever appears, because no one would know what recovery is and what is stealing from someone's wallet who keeps their Bitcoins for years. Also, if something like this showed up, how long would it take to show up for Ethereum, or for Monero or... I have a feeling that the market could crash if that happened.
-
To my knowledge, lost bitcoins cannot be recovered. But if you want to hold large amounts of bitcoin, you will use a private key feature wallet. Because if you lose your wallet, there is no problem because you will set up your wallet with your private key. However, if any such technology is created which will make it possible to recover the lost funds, then it will be beneficial for all.
-
Lost Bitcoin cannot be found unless the private key of the Bitcoin wallet is found. Because it is a very strong security system for the Bitcoin wallet, if there is technology that is able to find lost Bitcoin stored in the wallet, then it is dangerous because it can be used to hack Bitcoin wallets that store a lot of BTC.

You are right. If the technology in question really exists, there must be potential for abuse. On the one hand it is very helpful, on the other hand it can be used to rob other people's assets ...
-
I hope that such a technology will never be created as long as bitcoin exists. Although they write that a quantum supercomputer will be able to unravel internal keys and get into wallets, but I think this is all the usual fantasies of people who have no basis in any way. Need to have good protection from hackers on computer and no one will hack wallet.
-

So am I, I also not sure there is technology to recovery lost bitcoin. Because I see bitcoin has good security and privat key on wallet . So, we must be careful to safe our bitcoin. I believe that technology wouldn't there.
-
I don't think it will ever happen. Lost bitcoins can't be recovered. Just like if a wallet is lost, no technology will find it. Similarly, if bitcoin is lost, it can't be found. There are many people in the crypto market who think and invest. They know that lost bitcoin Cannot be restored.
-
I can't say for sure. But I have no idea if there will be a way to get the lost bitcoin back. You don't think it's possible in my opinion. But if it is, it will be a lot of good news and benefits for us.
-
I think access to lost wallets will never be available. Because it is simply unrealistic to do it. But if there is such an opportunity, then I would be very happy, since in the past I lost quite a lot of bitcoins.
-
I don't think it will exist, because bitcoin is intangible (digital), so it is very difficult to create a technological tool to recover lost bitcoins, even if there is it would be better and useful.
-
If such technology ever existed, it would be the end of Bitcoin and of all cryptocurrencies. Anyone could steal our Bitcoins and we could steal anyone's Bitcoins. Today you would have 100, tomorrow you would have 0, next month you would have 1,000... I hope nothing like this ever exists.
-
I don't think if there is a technology to recover your lost bitcoins but if there is a technology for that, then the price of bitcoin will be collapse, of course people will sold their all bitcoins after recovering it.
-
I don't think so if it will be implemented because it is likely the risk of losing the asset in cryptocurrency. We know that it is about blockchain technology. ANd if there is such technology, it will really help. But of course, it may not happen lots. We can wait for the next period.
-
I don't know for sure if this kind of new technology will come on the market at all. However, if this type of technology comes to the market, it will be really much better. Bitcoin waste can be easily recovered through. With the change of time various new technologies are being added to us. Hopefully this technology will come soon.
-

I agree that in the future there will be more and more technologies that can improve our lives. But I don't understand the technology that can manage bitcoin waste. Maybe you can explain in more detail about this?
-
Such technology would only have one use case, stealing. No one knows, or decides, which Bitcoin wallet has been lost or has been waiting for years to sell when its owner wants it. Something like that does not exist and should not exist, and if it existed, the community would act to eradicate it completely or it would be the end of Bitcoin.
-

Yes, I agree with you. Such technology could become the biggest robbery ground in the virtual financial world. And that could be the beginning of the collapse of not just bitcoin, but the cryptocurrency industry as a whole
-

I think you're right, there's no technology can recover lost bitcoin. Maybe only how to steal bitcoin. I don't think there's technology can do that. maybe until end of bitcoin , we will not see it That's my opinion
-
there is any, I will be so happy to know that because sometimes, we don't know if the private key or password or other data are used. And sometimes it also makes some break In this case, we can the developing technology may get recovery form that case. And we can wait for the result or the research
-
Unfortunately, we cannot recover lost bitcoin. On the other hand, there is a Bitcoinvault that has a unique feature that enables one to cancel transactions should you send it to the wrong address or be stolen. https://bitcoinvault.global/
-
In my opinion, the longer Bitcoin technology will certainly be new and sophisticated. There could be many possibilities Bitcoin will be able to do that. Moreover, the price of Bitcoin has also skyrocketed, of course it will be even better in quality so that it can survive.
-
@Black ID I hope that as much as technology advances, and the development of Bitcoin, nothing similar never appears. If it existed, I would personally sell my crypto for fiat and forget about it, as it would not only mean the end of Bitcoin, it would also mean the end of cryptocurrencies in general. Also, something like that would never be used for any good.
-
I don't know yet but still I'm optimistic that there will be a technology that can collect lost bitcoins. Of course there are legal matters there once the technology exist. If after 30years from now and Bitcoin value would be $300k or $500k and above. Imo, programers and data analyst could possibly team up to develop a tool that can collect lost Bitcoin in legal terms. They will find ways like landing in the moon. :D
-
I think a lost bitcoin is gone and may not be recovered again but in this present world of technology any thing can happen, more inventions may surface in the future that may recover lost bitcoin. New technology will never end and advancing in the current technology will keep upgrading, some have we may have ways to get lost wallet address too. Let watch unto the future.
-
@Bobcrypto
I agree. As long as there are chances every new day, to recover Bitcoin still possible in the future. It took a long time that the Wright Brother developed the flying object. It seems impossible at that time. However, the impossible became possible. There are so many flying objects in nowadays more than expected.
-
I hope there is never something that can do that, but if it exists, I hope there is also some mechanism or update in the Bitcoin core to protect the wallets, because otherwise what happened in Mt.Gox would be a joke compared to what could happen in our wallets because it would be a massive robbery.
-
What do you mean by "lost Bitcoin"? Bitcoin asset that cannot be accessed? I think we already have it as long as the requirements are fulfilled. To recover the loss of Bitcoins may need some secret words like phrases or pins. If there is no data at all, it cannot be found even using whatever the technology.
-
As we all know that we have not been able to achieve the goal of Chabiyan's bag hair beltway, therefore it is not possible to get the key of Chabiyan. If we are able to get rid of the Butt coin with different technologies, then the Bitcoin holder will be at risk because of the misuse of this technology.

Maybe you should avoid such people because many of them are scammers and they just want to steal your money! How long have you been using blockchain technology? Have you ever saw something like that apart from the news that you heard?
-
We are talking about the future right? Yes it can be possible. There are a lot of creative minds that are building up. They will invent the tech and fix it up to the extent of generating codes and others so as to grant the Bitcoin owner access. The world is evolving. And impossibilities are becoming possible with creative minded creatures.
My thought!

do not easily believe in an opinion that is clearly unacceptable with common sense, I agree with you for such a person not to be approached but if possible avoided and do not believe what he says. because you will enter into a planned fraud cycle and can lead to you being deceived too.
-
This is a very interesting topic, with a hard shell to crack.
Looking at it closely, in the aspect of technology evolving, maybe a technology with such solution may come up in the future, and this will be good with its own forms. With a technology of this nature, the possibility of getting into any wallet might and will be possible. Cause if a lost coin can be found without its key, then the difficulties of accessing any wallet with bitcoins won't be far from this technology. This also will make bitcoin to have another step in its own technology, so as to protect the holders and users of bitcoin from losing their coins.

But I don't believe it will happen. Because I think No technology could recover lost bitcoin. I have read several opinion and many news about this technology. Until now, I don't find this. Maybe at the coming future, If there
-
Of course it's a good topic but is it really possible to recover lost bitcoin or others cryptocurrencies!!! I think day by day technologies becoming more and more developed.
-
Of course it's a good topic but is it really possible to recover lost bitcoin or others cryptocurrencies!!! I think day by day technologies becoming more and more developed.
every time it is clear that you say that technology will always develop and always find new things and at least improve what there may be deficiencies in the system.
the main problem is whether that makes the system want what is lost so that a solution can be found. where it may be due to mistakes being done from what was made. of course that will be a problem in itself too, there is even something that cannot be because it is designed not to want to be found again.
-
I have no idea if there is such a technology. But if there is such a technology, then I think it is a very important technology for Bitcoin.Because there are so many users now that they have lost their bitcoin. So if there is any technology through which bitcoin can be recovered then that technology will be the best technology.
-
Do you guys think that there will be a new technology to recover lost Bitcoins. I have no idea about this because I am new to the cryptocurrency market. I will learn everything as time goes by. Seek advice on this from the senior brothers in this forum.
-
If it is on the blockchain, there may be somedays, however, it may be difficult and we need to know with whom we can get the help. It is like a certain company that does it? Or, there is aplication?
Well, it is also probably difficult to recover from blockchain because there must be so many lost BTC so that we cannot determine which is ours.
-
I ma not sure about this. because of the Bitcoin is lost, it will go to the blockchain and will be there forever. Will it be mined someday? And if soemone can recover it, so it will also not be back to the owner, but to the one that recoverying it. The business is more promising haha
-

If that time comes, do Bitcoin hodlers are in trouble too as their funds might also be vulnerable and be compromised?
Well, that can be the dilemma if there can be an effective technology to be able to recover lost Bitcoin, or maybe any coins or tokens for that matter. Why? Because the same technology can also be applied to coins that are held by other people legally. But really, I am sympathizing with those that got their coins lost for any reason and rightly, so there must be a way for them to be able to recover all or in part something that is already valuable today. I can still remember that guy that threw away his hard drive, and he is fighting for a permission to get into the pile of garbage in the hope he can still get back the hard drive and maybe get his many coins back into life.
-
On earth Scientists are discovering things that we are amazed to see. Things that we could never have imagined were easily discovered by scientists.I don't think it's impossible to create the technology you're talking about here. If such a technology is created then I think the advancement of Bitcoin will increase manifold.
-
I believe that lost bitcoin will not create any machine to bring back the old bitcoin. Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency. This bitcoin is not something anyone interferes with.
-
This is a really interesting question indeed.
I doubt there will ever be a technology like this. If it was possible, it would also mean that the system is hackable, that bitcoins can be stolen, which would undermine the safety of the blockchain and people's trust in it. Also in my opinion the only way they could tell apart lost bitcoin is the fact that they haven't been accessed in a while, but that's true for hodlers too, so yes, I think it would potentially be a threat to hodlers.
-
Something similar to what is exposed in this thread is unfeasible. No one can tell if a wallet is lost or if someone has kept it for years. It would be the end of Bitcoin, and therefore of the other cryptocurrencies, since if they did something like this for Bitcoin, they could also do it for the rest of the products on the market.
-
I think those who have lost bitcoin. They cannot be recovered again. Because it's a matter of online technology. So I don’t think it can be found by trying again
-

Yes I agree with you because it is difficult to get lost things back again. If Bitcoin were available, there would be a problem with the number of wallets Bitcoin has. Those who lost bitcoin could have found out much earlier if it had been possible to find out in any technology.
-
I cannot say anything right about this. I don't know if the lost Bitcoin can be recovered or returned. Because it's a a matter of online technology.
-
May be in future the new technology will do that and it is possible that the new technology will recover the lost payments of the BTC and also other coins and i hope when the crypto is legal in all over the world that time it would be happen.
-

Another great question. I would have to say advances in quantum computing could figure something out, as a slim possibility
-
There will be no guarantee that we have a new technology for the case of losing a password or security key on Bitcoin wallets. I think we already have the solutions for the cases that are still possible to recover. But for some cases, there will be no solutions at all because there is no way to connect to the wallets. The best way for us is to prevent the cases by more careful in managing the password or security keys of Bitcoin wallets.
-
There is no end to the worries in this world. But anything can be discovered at any time. But I don't think there will be anything like discovery of something lost in this cryptocurrency. Those of us who work in this cryptocurrency, if we take a look at it, will know if there will be any device to recover lost bitcoin in the future. But I don't think it will ever be possible.
-

For now, I think It is impossible. I agree with you brother. No guarantee that we will have a new technology for recover password or security keys as you said. I think that's difficult, but maybe at the coming future, we will have it.
-
If it can happen, so it will be only the one who really knows how to do it and I don't think that they will help each other to recover the funds. It is better to get it by himself. ahah
In this case, Bitcoin loss will be still in the blockchain and probably it will be back to mining block or not?
-
To my knowledge there is no technology in the world that can recover Bitcoin. However, there are many scientists who are working tirelessly to discover such technology to recover bitcoin. If such a technology comes to the world, then cryptocurrency will go to another level. And Bitcoin can recover easily. Hopefully this kind of technology will come in the market soon.
-
I agree with those who say there is not likely to be a way to do that. By any means, that would jeopardize the security of the entire system as I doubt there could be a technology that can hack into dormant accounts but not into active ones. Also, if you do manage to get bitcoins from dormant accounts, there would be no way to know for sure whether those are really lost or just the possession of persistent hodlers.
-
Exactly @Dora Walletinvestor, it would not be any technology to recover Bitcoins, it would be a technology to steal, and if something like this existed for Bitcoin shortly after, they would also appear for all coins/tokens on the market. And that could kill cryptocurrencies, as they would go down to 0. I hope no one thinks of creating something like that, if it can be done.
-
Lost Bitcoin due to forgetting a private key or word phrase is very difficult because it requires solving a very complicated algorithm.
I can not predict it will happen anytime and anywhere because it is certain that it is difficult to solve in the form of finding a lost private key or word Phrase.
Many have tried to find the word Phrase and Private Key but all failed and could not be found.
-
Absolutely it will be happen someday because of a new technology to recover bitcoins in order to the latest version of all gadgets will upgraded into a high technology of proposal in the marketing by any software can survived a new platform of energy.
-
If there is technology like that, I don't know if it feels like it will benefit people who lose their funds, but I find such technology difficult
Yeah. It will not be for the benefit of ordinary people :) But there is a big issue. People dye, people lose private keys or seed words, people forget them and this may affect the circulating supply deeply if we think it for the long term. But I am sure there will be some innovations on this issue.
-
I don't even know how to take the idea of a technology that can recover lost bitcoins. Who will control this technology and how Bitcoin will be considered lost, because even if it is in the wallet for a long time without movement, this does not mean that it has no owners? I believe that such technology cannot be created, because it will be speculated in any case.
-
Ethnically Bitcoin is improving. Bitcoin is becoming a much more popular currency around the world. The position of the Bitcoin currency is constantly improving. So Bitcoin is the most popular blockchain technology. Virtual transactions are constantly evolving technologically.
-

We don't know and truly uncomprehending until the course of time to that machine launching, if there is. There might be a pro's and con's but let us assume that machine will be under regulatory and must be transparent to promote trust and enough proof of reliable. Dishonest and unstable development will end up to failure. People are wise.

With the constant growth and evolving nature of technology, it is obvious that the hard work will and is to be done inside and behind the scenes, so that it could be a surprise to the entire public when this technology is open to the general public. This technology is all on the manipulation of 0s and 1s, which its possibility is not far fetched. This might take a while to be of success, and this will make bitcoin to have an increased security system, in other to keep its own holders/traders safe.
-
It would not be wrong to say that the present age is the age of science. Science is constantly bringing new things in front of us. There are already many technologies out there that fully support Bitcoin. But if there was a technology that could be used to recover Bitcoin lost, then Bitcoin is another Would go to the stage.
-
Bitcoin is becoming a much more popular currency around the world. The position of the Bitcoin currency is constantly improving. So Bitcoin is the most popular blockchain technology I believe that such technology cannot be created, because it will be speculated in any case.
-
I don't think so. if there is such kind of technology, it may be utilized by the miners. And about the technology to recover the lost bitcoin, I am not sure it can because it will be really utilized by certain people to do that. Moreover, there are high number of the lost bitcoin itself
-
For now, it doesn't exist yet, maybe in the future there will definitely be this technology because Bitcoin was created by humans and definitely has a way out.
Until now, this technology cannot be seen and maybe the better technology to be able to recover lost Bitcoin (due to private keys or forgetting pass phrase) should not exist because it is very dangerous for Bitcoin that has been circulating.
-
Maybe it's for the best when the number of bitcoins decreases, because of this, the price of bitcoin will only increase. Of course, the technology for recovering lost bitcoins will be needed at some point, but it will be problematic to do so.
-
I don't think so. if there is such kind of technology, it may be utilized by the miners. And about the technology to recover the lost bitcoin, I am not sure it can because it will be really utilized by certain people to do that. Moreover, there are high number of the lost bitcoin itself
Yes , I agree Bitcoin is more popular and has high demand. But I don't believe that there will be a new technology to recover lost bitcoin.Because I think It is really difficult mate . maybe never ... Let's see.
-
I received a news that some bitcoins have been lost along with the hardware. I don't know if they will ever be recovered. However, the main entrepreneur or authority of Bitcoin can take action in this regard. In other words, if they try to increase the supply, then Bitcoin will be a scam. So refrain from such thoughts. It is never possible.
-
@Tnoy30 all lost private keys are lost Bitcoins, there is no way to get them back in any way, not even with quantum technology as I have read on some sites. And no one intends to expand the total supply of Bitcoin, it would not only go against the initial plan of Satoshi but it would also cause the economic value of Bitcoin to fall. Lost private keys cannot be recovered, and there are and will be 21,000,000 Bitcoins.
-
With advance in Artificial Intelligency AI and computational modelling it could be possible to recover lost Bitcoin in the nearest future how soon? it is difficult to answer, technological tools related to cryptocurrencies are vastly improving on daily basis eg scalability of Bitcoin using lightning Network LN and so on this and many more including recovery will also receive attention.
-

I agree bitcoin is popular and seems impossible to recover the lost bitcoin. Only super intelligent people may develop such technology but not all bitcoin will recover because some coins are totally vanished.

@Falcon no matter how super smart some people are, you shouldn't forget the technical limitations and computational resources that would be required to do something like this. Currently it is not possible and will not be possible with quantum computers as some people say on some websites. Lost Bitcoins must remain lost, otherwise something like that would be used for stealing.
-
That will mean for satoshi Nakamoto to reveal his/her/they identify, because who else can work on a new technology to recover lost btc if not satoshi, which means this idea is not going to be possible, all lost btc will remain lost for good and there is nothing that can be done about it.

It is true that at this time this technology does not exist because there is no way to revive the lost Bitcoin.
Many have speculated that the lost Bitcoin could be searched using a quantum computer, but the proof is that quantum computers have not yet been born.
Maybe if Bitcoin is lost then for sure we will suffer losses and it will be very sad.

I completely agree with you that quantum technologies are very powerful and will be able to recover all lost bitcoins. you also need to consider the fact that a quantum computer can also find access to any bitcoins, whose owners are very careful to keep their data secret. That is, almost every cryptocurrency user will be at risk.
-
@Arkann quantum computers are still in "theory", there are still years, many years to go to see a fully functional quantum computer. After all those years, quantum computers will not be like a smartphone, that anyone can buy one, they will be within the reach of some institutions, military, medical... And do you know what will happen next?. That Bitcoin and all cryptocurrencies can be protected as several developers have already said.

Quantum computers already exist and perform well when compared to conventional computers. Moreover, they are even gradually increasing their power and functionality. I read that China is already supplying low-power quantum computers to schools to learn how they work and their technical characteristics.
It is quite possible that thanks to them, it will be possible to restore access to previously lost bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies. However, at the same time, quantum computers pose a huge threat to the existence of cryptocurrency.

It is practically impossible for the time being, may be it will happened in the future. A lost bitcoin is has no hope of recovery, may be Satoshi Nakamoto will have to help in this regard. The bitcoin founder may have a "technical know how" to start this difficult job otherwise it will be impossible for anyone else to embark up on.

I'm not sure this is possible, if Satoshi had left a "back door" to recover lost Bitcoins, what he would do is damage his own project. In addition, the code is public and anyone can review it, and above all the correct question would be, who knows or who decides which Bitcoins are lost and which are kept for years?. That question has a difficult answer because no one can provide evidence.
-
I think everything is possible. People may come up with something new in the future to recover Bitcoin, even if there is no back door.

That would spell the death of Bitcoin, as anyone could steal them from other users' addresses. There is nothing like it nor will it exist, otherwise everything would be chaos. Answer me a question, how would you distinguish an address whose private keys have been lost from an address that has Bitcoins for years?. It would be impossible to know that and everything would be theft of wallets.
-
Do you think a new technology will come to recover lost bitcoins? In answer to this I would like to say that the present age is the age of information technology. The new things that are being introduced at this time are being discovered for a new job. But no one doubts that no technology can be created to recover Bitcoin. There are many things in the world that have not been invented to create.
-
I have no idea how to recover bitcoin. Recovery means replacing old bitcoins with new ones. This task does not seem to be possible. Some things go unnoticed, but Bitcoin can be recovered

The question in this thread has nothing to do with replacing "old" Bitcoins with "new" ones, that would be totally impossible since then there would be more than 21,000,000 as it is written in the code. In this thread we talk about recovering the Bitcoins whose private keys have been lost, but that is not possible either and I hope it never will be. If such a thing existed, it could also be used for other coins/tokens, and it would all be chaos.
-
At the moment when such a technology appears that can restore the lost bitcoins, the cryptocurrency will cease to exist, because the owners of such technology will get the opportunity not only to restore the lost BTC, but also to steal coins from any wallet.
-
I think the lost bitcoin will never be found again. There are some things that once lost can never be found again. So far no device has been created to recover the lost bitcoins. I hope such devices will not be made in the future. If it is very good for us then we will get back the valuable coins
-
Many people will agree if this technology exist but the problem is what if they use it for joke or crime, that's really bad. I never agree about this technology because all depend the player as long they careful everything will be fine. Support for low fees and solve busy network is better technology to keep doing, find the solution faster before bitcoin ( crypto ) lost the value.

I am completely sure that the vast majority of people would use technology like that to steal. It would be something like being able to withdraw money from bank vaults without having to approach, It would be the end of all our investments and it would also be the end of all cryptocurrencies. There should never be something like this, for the good of the ecosystem and for the good of ourselves.

Of cause. that will be what will happen. For the people that recovered their Bitcoin, I believe that they must have remembered their password or found their {rivate kays otherwise there is no solution at the moment for that and as you mentioned, if such kind of technology exists someday, all the lost Bitcoins will be stolen by the developer since he/they alone knows how it works and I don't believe they will just share it freely and even if they do, not just lost Bitcoin that will be affected, but all Bitcoin wallet since there is a way to access ten so, I hope this will not happen.

Anyone who can develop such technology will become rich for sure. But I'm pretty sure there should have a negotiable to reliable personalities before taking an action. There are a lot of protocols in crypto and of course government or else they will come against.
For now, impossible to recover the lost Bitcoin not unless someone ( genius with 250%) doing it secretly.lol

I think no technology can recover lost of bitcoin.
I don't believe there is people or technology can do it.
We all know there's several case, the people that lost their password or phrase.
-
I'm not sure if in the future we will be able to recover our lost Bitcoins because Bitcoin was created a long time ago and until today we can't recover a lost Bitcoin. Maybe some exchanges will add some features about recovering Bitcoins because we see new features many times in big exchanges.
-
I think it depends on how they were lost. If the hardware wallet they were stored on was physically destroyed completely, I don't see how they can be recovered.
-

Whatever the wallet if the owner forgotten the private key, seed phrase, and password using non-custodial wallet will not be recover. Broken or destroyed wallet doesn't matter as long as you own the key or password and it wasn't compromised, you can access.
-
There are many that can exceed the system of Bitcoin, such as Ethereum, BNB, Cardano but all these altcoins cannot beat the power of Bitcoin because Bitcoin is like a pure digital asset.
I hope that there will no longer be a need for digital assets that will be able to compete with Bitcoin because if the circle remains in cryptocurrency then any altcoins will lose in prestige to Bitcoin.
-
I don,t think so that the new technology will go and recover the bitcoin and may be in future it go high more and it can recover it because the crypto market this time is so much good and the big investment will give us good profit in the market. Crypto is the world best and great market in the world.
-
I find it difficult to recover lost Bitcoins, especially since it has been going on for a long time. What new technology can do all that, I think it's impossible. We should not hope for the impossible, and focus more on getting more benefits from what we are doing now. Bitcoins that have been lost will be lost forever if we don't find the private key.
-

I have ask several senior here, they said It is impossible if there will be a new technology to recover lost bitcoin.
I see there are several investors have loss their fund, because forgotten their password or private key.
But, if at the coming future, we don't know, maybe they will ever it's technology
-
Whether the new technology will be able to recover discarded bitcoin is still unknown or unclear. I think it is possible to enslave Bitcoin through new technology. But in possession, Only the owner has control over it. However, new technologies may come later that will help increase the supply of Bitcoin. Since it is at the top of popularity, it is reasonable to increase the supply.

If you talked loss the wallet, I think It's difficult to recover you wallet..You must keep password, private key and phrase.
I didn't see the news or information about how to recover the wallet if you forgotten private key, password and phrase.
That's impossible.
So, always be careful.
-
I think this is impossible. In the investment climate, gains and losses are common. How could money that has been spent hope to return? Except in the case of system errors, maybe it can be improved so that potential losses are minimized ...
-
It is absolutely impossible and unlikely to happen. What kind of technology can find a lost wallet key ?! It looks like the lost Bitcoin will be lost forever and will not be found again
-
The question of the possible recovery of lost bitcoins, as a rule, is associated with the new capabilities of quantum computers, which, as predicted, can solve this problem in a matter of minutes.
-
Everything gets lost with time. Thousands of bitcoins have been lost. Failure to bring this bitcoin back will result in loss of thousands of rupees. It will start using very soon.

No, I think It will never there , a new technology to recover lost bitcoins.
But I don't know at the coming future, maybe there is someone that create that technology.
But I think It's impossible
-
this is a very cool idea, in my opinion it is quite possible, and such a project is also needed for altcoins, since I have several lost wallets, with good money ;D
-

I think that a technology that allows to recover lost keys of Bitcoin or any other crypto would be the end of all cryptocurrencies. I am totally convinced that the majority of people (99%) would use it to steal the coins/tokens of others, and that would be the end of the cryptocurrency industry, since a security breach of that magnitude would cause all trust to be lost. I think it's better that something like that never exists.

Yes, the technology for restoring access to lost secret keys from cryptocurrency wallets is associated with the emergence of such capabilities in quantum computers. Until recently, it was stated on the forums that many years would pass before their real appearance, but they have already appeared and in China they are even supplied to schools. But if they can hack the keys to the lost bitcoins, then they can also hack working cryptocurrency wallets. So I agree that this will be a big problem. So far, they say they are not powerful enough to do this. But quantum computers will develop anyway, and it remains to be seen whether will find adequate protection for cryptocurrencies.
-
I've seen it happen by selection for a long time, but it's a very long time and you'll find something. If such a system is found, it would be very good to try to find at least one bitcoin.
-

Really? how do you think that is going to work? will the technology know the wallets that the owners have lost their keys to? or is it that the owners are the ones to run whatever tech app that might be to recover their lost keys? I don't even know how to think about it. The truth is, for anything like that to happen simply means someone or some people now have the ability to unlock any Bitcoin wallet and go with the starch which is more like what hackers do presently. No, no tech like that will happen.
-

And how would you know that Bitcoin is lost or abandoned?. How would you know it's not from someone who's been saving it for a long time?. No one can answer these two questions, so in addition to being unethical, it would be a mistake from my point of view. If there was a technology capable of doing that, people would not use it to recover lost Bitcoins, they would use it to steal Bitcoins, and that would be the end of cryptocurrencies, and as I said on another occasion, if that technology came into being, I would forget about cryptocurrencies forever.
-
In future this will be possible that the lost coins will be cover and so many peoples will think that this is not possible but day by day there is new technology will come and they make good results and so many peoples will so much happy with this technology.

@Muneeb22 do you think someone who has kept Bitcoins in a wallet since 2009 would be happy if someone using "innovative" software steals their coins?, I think that person would feel many things, but would not be happy. There are also many people who talk about the power of future quantum computers and how easy it would be to find private keys and other things, but what they do not think is that when this type of hardware arrives it will not be for everyone, and that when necessary, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies could be protected against these threats.

I think this will never happen. After all, this technology implies banally pumping bitcoins from lost wallets, and this is almost impossible, given the complexity of the keys from wallets, if these technologies do not have, of course, a quantum computer.
-

Who has quantum computers today? Nobody, there are only prototypes and logically they are not available to anyone, the first quantum computer that "could" hit the market is the SpinQ Gemini (with only 2 qubits) with a price of $50,000, as you can see, the price will make it not available to everyone, and that model will not have the necessary power to find private keys. Whenever quantum computers and cryptocurrencies are discussed, I recommend that people read a very useful article.
Here you can read it: https://www.forbes.com/sites/rogerhuang/2020/12/21/heres-why-quantum-computing-will-not-break-cryptocurrencies/?sh=3144fd98167b

Technologies cannot influence to open a forgotten cryptocurrency wallet, without access to a password, a lost Seed phrase. The wallet is not intended for special programs that could do this in the future. Only one thing is quantum computing, on a super-powerful quantum computer. And then, such an action can not always lead to a result.

That is what I am trying to explain, that quantum computers will take years to reach users' homes, and those computers will not be very powerful (they will process very few qubits), which would make it impossible to find private keys or hash collisions. What people should also understand is that the more advanced quantum technology is and the more processing power it has, cryptocurrencies will also have more ability to defend against potential attacks.

Well those who have been able to successfully recover their Bitcoins from forgotten wallets are in luck and I believe they will know how to now secure their login/recovery details better but for those that don't remember, I am sure that those are lost forever because if there will ever be a time when there is such technology then all bitcoin wallet is at risk and not just the lost once.
