The massive 2018 bear market is not a reason to bury crypto, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev claimed in a speech at the Gaidar forum. Russian news agency TASS reported on Medvedev’s comments yesterday, Jan. 15.

Medvedev outlined the current crypto market situation as one of the main questions on the world community’s agenda, along with other challenges such as shifts in traditional markets, a rise in protectionism and social inequalities, and the speed and scope of global digital transformation.

Speaking at the annual international scientific conference on the economy, Russia’s prime minister and former president urged the public to closely observe the state of the crypto markets.

Pointing to the extraordinary volatility volumes in the past year, Medvedev argued that it is not a reason to “bury” cryptocurrencies, stressing that any social and economic phenomena has both a bright side and a dark side.

“But sure, it is not a reason to bury them [cryptocurrencies]. There is both a bright side and a dark side here, as well as in any social phenomena and any economic institution. We should monitor carefully what is going on in the space.”

Earlier this week, the head of Russia’s Committee on Financial Markets stated that the lower chamber of the Russian parliament is planning to discuss a draft bill on crypto regulation in January or February.

The team of cryptocurrency project TRON (TRX) has reportedly partnered with China's largest Internet search provider Baidu. Crypto market news service Coinness has claimed this in a tweet Thursday, Oct. 11, citing its private correspondence with TRON’s team.

Neither TRON nor Baidu have been able to confirm the partnership to Cointelegraph as of press time.

Without specifying the details of the partnership, Coinness has claimed that the deal between TRON and China’s Internet giant Baidu will be “officially” revealed by the cloud storage service Baidu Cloud “next week.”

While Coinness claims that TRON has exclusively confirmed the partnership in private correspondence with it, the crypto platform itself has not yet officially announced any details of the partnership or even the identity of its new business partner.

TRON’s CEO Justin Sun has recently hinted on Twitter at a secret partnership with an unnamed “industry giant” that is valued at “tens of billions of dollars.” In his Tweet, posted Friday, Oct. 12, Sun has similarly provided little information:

Cryptocurrency discussions / will decentralised exchanges be the future ?
« on: October 13, 2018, 06:00:32 PM »
Have been searching for decentralised exchanges to trade on for security reasons after watching Andreas M. Antonopoulos -
.
So far the Bitshares DEX has been the most liquid and what seems as truly p2p but other Ethereum based dexs are potentially good also. Will DEXs really be the future ? Or will centralised exchanges slowly become decentralised.

Cryptocurrency discussions / More people More volatility
« on: October 13, 2018, 05:49:10 PM »
Lets assume bitcoin makes it through all the barriers and survives the rules and regulations of the governments and yet is decentralized.
It is widely adopted and many people have started to use it. Bitcoin has grown to thousands/millions of dollars in price causing huge volatility.

If there are so many people using it on a daily basis, won't the volatility cause huge fluctuations in it's price ?
If bitcoin has such huge volatility how will it be able to sustain it's price ? The fluctuations in price will cause problems to merchants.
So according to what I think, if there is not a solution to volatility then BTC cannot be used on a regular basis for payments in various places of the world.

Eg: One day I go and check a guitar's price about $100 and then a week later I go to purchase it just to notice that I would have to pay more BTC this time just because of the drop in bitcoin's price.

Conclusions from the comments

Conclusion 1 : More people is not equal to more volatility but more active traders = more volatility
Conclusion 2 : More people involved in bitcoin will mean that the supply of BTC will be well spread among each other and hence volatility will decrease.

Thanks for taking part in the discussion.

Crypto is a poor form of money for jihadists because they usually need to purchase goods with cash often in areas with unreliable technology.

According to this Forbes article

So they don't have computers, bitcoin merchants, fibre optics or 4G coverage in the dusty dessert or hideout hills.

According to Yaya Fanusie, director of analysis for the Foundation For Defense of Democracies Center on Sanctions and Illicit Finance: “Cold hard cash is still king"

So will they ban cash to prevent terrorism ? That would be some good hype to get the next bull run started !

According to the Forbes article a group called Mujahideen Shura Council (MSC) in the Environs of Jerusalem - was able to lure only two contributions for a total of a little over $500 in weeks of a 2016 online campaign. MSC sounds like a Microsoft certification. Perhaps the contributions were accidental and two suckers are still waiting for their online courses.

So not only is it terrible to use for the terrorists - their supporters appear to be crypto broke too.

Sounds like a business opportunity for a gun dealer to accept jihad coin. Make sure to use escrow. You cannot trust terrorists.

Coinbase / Coinbase Launches First ERC-20 Token on Platform

Coinbase Launches First ERC-20 Token on Platform

Leading U.S. cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has started listing 0x (ZRX) token, according to an announcement published Oct. 11. The move marks the first time Coinbase has added support for an ERC-20 token.

ERC-20 tokens are tokens developed and used solely on the Ethereum (ETH) platform, where ERC stands for Ethereum Request for Comment, and 20 is the number assigned to this request. ERC-20 makes the creation of new tokens extremely easy, which is why ETH became popular with crowdfunding companies working on Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs).

Per the announcement, Coinbase has launched support for ZRX on its professional platform, Coinbase Pro, although trading will only be allowed once sufficient liquidity is established. The exchange notes that a separate announcement will be made when the token becomes available on coinbase.com and on its iOS and Android apps.

ZRX trading will be available in most jurisdictions, except the state of New York during its initial launch stage. Coinbase has divided the launch into four independent stages for each new trading pair; ZRX/USD, ZRX/EUR and ZRX/BTC, while the exchange notes that currently it will not offer trading on the ZRX/GBP pair.

As Coinbase states in the blog post, in the first, “transfer-only” stage, customers will be able to transfer ZRX into their Coinbase Pro accounts, without an option to place orders. The second “post-only” stage will let customers post limit orders, however with no matches. The subsequent stages — “limit-only” and “full-trading” — will enable matching limit orders and full trading services, including limit, market, and stop orders respectively.

Kung meron pa kayong nalalaman pwde natin itong i dagdag. Salamat.

Do all bounty hunters dump Cryptos after they get paid?

I believe this is not a fair assessment as a lot has to do with the crypto project itself.

Its a matter of perspective really, not all bounty hunters have the same experience or motive, some people just need an opportunity to get crypto for projects that are very difficult to get in the token sales, Example is Ncash tokens of Nucleus.Vision the project has a 1 million USD budget and it is still above ICO price even in the bear market.

Additionally some projects treat bought hunters badly which will not encourage them to stick around for much longer after they get their tokens.

I believe tokens or coins getting dumped by bounty hunters depends a lot on the project itself.

Just have a few questions for those who bought/mined ETH early in the days when things weren't this crowded.

1. How long did it take for a transaction to be confirmed?

2. What were the other issues experienced apart from Hardware complications and energy requirements?

Cryptocurrency discussions / How did i lose money for ethereum
« on: October 10, 2018, 05:26:58 PM »
I started researching and investing in ethereum from February 2018, at that time 1 eth was priced over 1k $, I bought 20 eth and then the price started rising. When looking at eth price charts in December 2017 I was very happy and thought I was lucky to invest properly! Then 2 months in March 2018, 1 eth was priced at over 1500usd , I was happy and decided to buy another 15eth, I thought I would be a millionaire! But not! Then the price of eth started to fall and I lost a lot of money! I was scared and did not understand why the price of eth decreased! As well as buying eth, I was fomo, invested a lot of money but did not understand what I was doing. Then I calm down and explore the market, and I realize that everything has its causes and rules! I started the trader and gradually recovered the lost money! I know a lot of people like me, invest their money without knowing what they are doing! I advise people to research thoroughly before bringing money to the market! And according to my personal opinion, the upcoming eth will drop to about 1k before rising again! invest your money wisely, it is your decision! good luck guys!
