I believe there is no confirm news whether ALI BABA buys $20 billion worth of bitcoins or not. Is there any source link that confirms this news? Please provide it in your post. I believe it's only a rumour as there is no source I see to confirm this. If such big players start pouring money into BTC then we can not Imagine the growth of BTC in the coming months.

I had been expecting that Alibaba would be making some splash into the Bitcoin party though I am not so 100% convinced of this story. I would expect that Alibaba would do it without any news or fanfare since they know that the China government has no favorable stand on cryptocurrency yet. At any rate, regardless whether this true or not, still this is a big good news and can have temporary push for the value of BTC in the marketplace. Seems to me that these past few days no good news within the Bitcoin sphere made a mark on the coin so this Alibaba thing is quite welcome.

Thanks for posting that screenshot, but I can't read Chinese or Japanese. I think you were wrong to open this thread as I still cannot find any truthful information that says Alibaba has invested in Bitcoin. There is no media that has published anything about it. The news must be contrasted with the known media, not with tweets. A few days ago, an idiot said on Twitter that the SEC was going to tax the exchanges and it was a lie. We must be aware of what we do and say.

Could this be a case of Chinese Government suppressing information and someone just leaked it out? If that was actually the case, I find it ironic because Jack Ma is also one of the people saying bitcoin is a bubble. Not that I blame them for doing a 180 degrees, BTC has smashed a lot of expectations ;D
I also remember a news that the Chinese Central bank Governor has changed his tune on BTC and said it's a good alternative investment.

Even if the Chinese government were withholding information, news like this would have been made public anyway. The major news agencies would have put it on the front page of their official websites quickly. There is still no official media to confirm the news, so I imagine it will be fake news.

I'm pretty sure that the Bitcoin double spending article published by Cointelegraph made it to the news section and other boards here. That news was debunked later on but that had already caused a lot of confusion among new crypto users. I even read a traditional company selling their BTC holdings because of that.

Major crypto news sites have published a lot of articles related to events in China in the past but many of them were also unverified. Perhaps they want to avoid that again.

As we’ve seen before, companies like JPMorgan and many more mainstream companies offer Bitcoin services to their customers, while their leaders were either negative or neutral about this property. Recently we have seen a news that is Ali Baba buys 20 billion worth of bitcoins but i don't get any exact information about it. I think we will know the real information shortly.

The value is very large and I believe ALIBABA has its own purpose to buy Bitcoin on a large scale because it is certain that the company name when issuing the money must have income or profit.

I choose not to believe the news as I know Alibaba is from China and I know China is not allowing Bitcoin. In fact in other words China some is strictly monitoring the crypto activities. If Alibaba did invest vin Bitcoin with such huge amount of money. Jack Ma will become more popular and influencial not just in business but also in crypto investment.

Perhaps there are companies in alibaba group, that are not registered in China. There might even be a small company, that made such an investment (that is why the amount is so small, Tesla for example invested 1.5 billions, and here are only 20 millions), that belong to Alibaba group. But the press made article name simply more sound.

I think it's perfect for users to post news, but we shouldn't fall for something as simple as fake news, they are not necessary or inform about something that makes the ecosystem grow. It's not difficult, that's why I think it should be mandatory, it only takes a few minutes to review the news.

I doubt Alibaba bought Bitcoin and announced it publicly. In case they bought, I think they will keep it privately and never to mention as they know the Chinese government will chase them and get their Bitcoin. Even they bought they will strictly maintain it secret for security reason.

True. We must wait for a confirmation from Alibaba. Otherwise this looks like a fake announcement. The screenshot does not look close to something official, but looks like a screenshot from social media. If $20 billions are really invested, then the market would react immediately. Such amount can not be invested and disappeared between market numbers.

You havent found it because this is just a rumor. One had told that Alibaba has invested, others thought that this is true and chain reaction of fake news started.
If Alibaba would have invested, Bitcoin price would have skyrocketed immediately. Instead if just felt down due to Mask tweet.

Do not look for any news related to this topic because you will not find it in any reliable source, they are just rumors and fake news created to increase the FOMO in Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general. If Ali baba invests in Bitcoin one day, do not doubt that the news will appear in all the media in which we are used to looking for information.
