Forum related / Re: Is it possible to check ?
« on: Today at 08:07:03 AM »
Maybe because he wanted to confirm that the participants of his campaign are wearing the avatar and signature all the time, and they are not changing the avatar and signature half a week and wearing another, as many members have practiced this before and many succeed to get payment as well, even some get paid for like 2 to 4 weeks as well.

Sometimes managers are not so active that they keep track of all the participants manually and thus this is where such tools fits in, But To be honest, I assumed managers already have such tool as how they can be keeping track that if I wear the signature and avatar whole week or not, but I assume they are checking it manually like once caught you are obviously not be able to join any campaign again.

Changes made by users to profiles are stored in a log, at least I think so. I don't know if the administrator will be able to give access (even partially) to those in charge so that they have some control over which users change their signature and avatar for a few days, something I have not seen so far in this forum. In any case, it is best for managers to make a suggestion if they are interested in having more information and if they do not have tools that can do the job.

@PX-Z has said that he will do something in the future about this, let's wait to see what the administrator says and we will have clearer ideas.

How about now ? are your activities still freeze ? but you are lucky in receiving Positive karma meaning other member consider your post as valuable as is so just wait for some time before your activity to increase .
and why not be more active and just let your activities grows because there are certain criteria before earning activities .

@Emmanuel1's activity has been working normally again for a few weeks. On April 5 the activity was 140 and now it is 151, so everything is working correctly. I seem to remember that the next limit is when the user's activity reaches 2,000, where there is another waiting period. But it may be even shorter than this time depending on the total activity. Sometimes this period of time is very short (a few hours) if the user has good activity.

Suggestion Box / Re: Global mods
« on: April 19, 2024, 08:01:54 PM »
Nice suggestion to reduce the stress of the admin and from what you have said, you must have a good knowledge about the moderation work therefore I appeal to the admin to appoint you as one for the global moderators in the forum. You are deem fit to carry out the tasks. And also we need people like to work with the admin. You are a generous person and not like some people that ignore users but you move along with everyone. You must be love by everyone in your compound. admin please grant his request. And I will put this thread in my watch list so I can receive emails from it regularly.to know what is going on here. You are one of the best over there. Take this +karma.

As I already said (in this and other posts) the selection of moderators, especially global moderators, is done after a long time when we talk about "new" users, in this case a teleported user. I am not saying that @hugeblack is not worthy of being a global moderator, he is a very valuable user for his contributions, what I am saying is that everything has a process of monitoring and following up on candidate users. After that time, @hair and I will propose new moderators (local and global) for the administrator to award the badge to the new moderators.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Lost, Forgotten Bitcoin. How many are there?
« on: April 18, 2024, 09:00:54 PM »
down the road a new harder to crack blockchain wallet may be needed.

this is why I feel the old frozen wallets may be transferred out of their stale easier to crack wallets.

It is possible that what you say happens, but it is something that I have already contemplated in my previous posts. When I say that technology (old and new) works in both directions, I mean precisely what you say about the new wallets. I know there is more computing power available every day to crack codes and algorithms, but that same computing power can be used to protect software, and make it more secure against new attacks and tools.

Bitcoin developers are aware of new advances, so I believe that when the time comes there will be new wallets with greater protection against these possible (and still distant) attacks. I don't think we should worry about AI or quantum computing when we talk about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. I think it would be better to worry about the security with which we take care of our wallets as users to avoid problems and possible theft of our funds.

It's hard to imagine SEC would agree to settlement deal which allows Uniswap Labs continue to develop Uniswap without introducing more centralization or even enforcing AML/KYC. But i still wish Uniswap Labs would trying to win this one, since it'll make SEC have harder time to crack down cryptocurrency development or software in the future.

Unfortunately, I think that's one of the things that could happen, that the SEC "forces" uniSwap to perform KYC on users if they want to continue providing the service like now. This case reminds me of Ripple and how long the whole process takes, but I hope that UniSwap can defend itself and they can continue operating as before, although it is difficult when the SEC is looking for a new "target". The AML laws are very clear and strict, so I find it difficult for them to reach any type of agreement, and I doubt that UniSwap will stop providing services to the citizens of the United States.

Two million dollars for Binance is a tiny amount. If behind that fine there are no “hidden” clauses or new legislation that must be complied with even if it has not yet been approved, Binance could be operating in India in a matter of days. What I'm sure will happen is that Binance's KYC policy will be much stricter than before since that is one of the requests, In this way there will be more control over users and their funds. At that point, it will be up to users to decide whether their private data is more or less important than being able to use a high-volume exchange like Binance.

Forum Court / Re: 68 posts in one day, user Doovla should be warned
« on: April 18, 2024, 06:54:05 PM »

I know that mister president  ;D
5000 posts was just an example, but I see some members posting only news article all the time, so it is not impossible to happen.
I like the badges here and they can be improved, maybe added few more.

Should I write this as separate suggestion, or president will inform admin, he has more power I think ;)

I can assure you that I have much less “power” than you imagine, and even if I did I wouldn't care, I'm just another user.

To propose new things, I think it is always better to make a suggestion in the corresponding subforum, so other users can contribute other ideas related to the suggestion and a new debate is also created, which is always interesting.

Only the admin can't understand the behavior of people. The user has to come to the public to display his or her character to everyone that he is has changed and that will be how the person response to comments and the thread is creating. The character of the person would display to the admin might not be the same with other people. Private discussions is good but the person will still come to the public to interact with others. So it is good for the person to come to the public. And the person must have a thick skin because definitely there must be an attacks.

Change is a constant thing and it must be in gradual process. You don't rush someone to change his or her character immediately but allow them to adapt to the environment.

I understand what you are saying, but I think you have not understood me or I have not explained myself well. When a user really regrets it and wants to change, the first thing they should do is recognize their mistake, and after that first step, if the user has another opportunity, demonstrate it. Sending a private message and showing that the user is sincerely sorry is very easy and gives that person another chance. Trusting that user again and watching them continue with the same behavior over and over again is a waste of time.

There are legitimate and scam meme coins. It's just a matter of how you would determine if that specific meme coin that you are about to invest in is the legit one. Some even say that investing in meme coins is much more becoming a meme, imagine that investing a small amount of money can sometimes result in multiplying at an unimaginable amount.

You may also compare investing in meme coins to gambling as the risk is too high that your chance of multiplying your money will be up to your luck. There are also some chances that you will become a victim of scam meme coins. Even after trying to verify the legitimacy of the meme coin, there's no way to determine it with 100% legitimacy until you have become a victim.

I agree with you in what you say in the first point of your post. But unfortunately that time has passed. Nowadays it is practically impossible to earn the amounts of money you say with an investment of, for example, $10 or $100. It must be taken into account that there are many whales waiting for the launch of any memecoin who are willing to spend thousands of dollars to buy billions of coins/tokens waiting for a price increase, which makes it impossible to have the profitability that we could obtain a few years ago with even lower investment amounts.

Furthermore, nowadays the memecoins that are launched on the market (several dozen every day) end up abandoned or being a scam, which is why it is becoming an increasingly dangerous and expensive game, since competing with whales is usually impossible, unless we put more money on the table and are willing to play.

You're right, this is another easier way of making influence, when they often sees us doing it, that may also draw their interest or attention to want to learn from it, just as we have all contributed earlier from previous replies, the person involved need to develop his first attempt by showing interest, then this will help them to receive the necessary guide needed and work towards achieving a learning ground about the forum.

I think the best way to learn is to see how someone does things, whether it's posting on a forum or building a house. Then come the first tests, the first errors, the doubts... And so anyone can learn and explain anything, trying things and making mistakes. If they see how a user, even with little experience, moves and interacts in the forum, in a few days they will know how to get along without any problem. From that moment on everything is much simpler.

How would they prove that they have changed from their bad habits if they aren't allowed to post? Does this set of users receive a prompt message to contact the administrator for a second chance? It is typical for anyone to abandon their profile if their ability to post is taken away.

Parma/Temp ban users get a prompt message on their profile on BTT.

I seem to remember that even being in that group (Under Review), users can send PMs to other users, but even if I'm wrong (which I could be), the user can always email the administrator or create a new temporary account to find out what happened. Communication options are always available when someone wants to talk and ask for another chance. When a user belonging to that group really wants to change their behavior, they have many ways to talk to the administrator or any moderator. Not being able to post openly on the forum I think is a very simple excuse.
