It's always be question, could bitcoin will surpass  fiat money ?
I think it depends surpass what ? if you mean the popularity, I think it can.
But We all know about fiat money, And t is really difficult to against.your government, because They will keep their own currency.
Bitcoin and altcoins have potential be payment methods and will be more popular at the coming future.
But the people and government always use fiat money, for their transaction .
It's habit, not easy  be changed
