This week, CEO Elon Musk announced via Twitter (where else?) that his upstart automaker had begun letting interested buyers pay for their electric vehicles in bitcoin. It’s part of a corporate push to acquire as much of the original cryptocurrency as possible – or at least that’s how it seems – as the manufacturer has no plans to convert the cryptocurrency to fiat.

I d rather expect Tesla and musk having long since been "covertly" in BTC since his first big business was PayPal thus naturally at first sight / news of such asset he would :jump on to the train" and tesla Acceptance of BTC is just acceptance of another payment method boosting their sales keep also in mind that tesla gpu cards are good for mining crypto too

Exactly, still now they have no intention to convert their Bitcoin to fiat. Few weeks ago, they have invested huge amount of $ in purchasing Bitcoin, i can remember they are now almost 60% gainers after their investment. Few days ago, they finally announced that from now they will accept payment with Bitcoin for purchase Tesla. They are trying to accumulate more % of Bitcoin for future as it's supply is limited.

If it were me, I wouldn't buy Tesla Cars with bitcoin. I would buy the fixed fee with whatever it was. 4 years ago I bought a car with btc exchange myself and at that time the price of the vehicle was 3 btc (of course the price of btc was 5-6 thousand dollars) I think now and I regret it unavoidably.
