Nah I doubt Satoshi meant it to be a secret. Did someone actually asked when he was still active with public discussions? I guess he made it intentional for the genesis block not to be spent as a test or some kind of future memento.

Satoshi Nakamoto will never appear, this can be almost certain. He deliberately thought over his actions in order to remain anonymous in the future. We do not know for what purpose he did it and we can only guess about it. Many support him in these actions and believe that he did it so that no one had the right to claim bitcoin as an invention. But most likely, we will never know for sure about this.

IMO, I believe it was Intentionally done for many possible reasons first is the possible government intervention second is if the project will not prosper and develop much and later on become a scam, those simple but very possible reasons are not a popular belief but it might be the reason that's why the so-called Satoshi Nakamoto has not shown its real identity. but the crypto community has shown the positive side and made it appear in the name of decentralization.
