Bitcoin becoming a global currency is the hope of everyone, and this is also the main goal of Bitcoin. But it looks like it's going to take a very long time because we all know that many countries are against it. 
But even so I am very optimistic that Bitcoin will achieve its main goal of becoming an international currency, even though it will have to wait even longer.  I am optimistic about this because I saw the development of Bitcoin which is very fast and extraordinary.

Without any doubt this will be happen because did not you seen that how badly institutional investor now into bitcoin which is a huge adoption to be worlds currency ..Also recently Germany  allowed 4000 institution investor to invest on crypto currency which mean most of them going to invest on BITCOIN because of it stability ,concept,popularity .. As a matter of facts, it already happening, Btc features made it a digital coin of international usage. There are no central authority in control of btc and it is decentralized. As adoptions increases, it will definitely increase it usage, and in turn become world accepted digital coin. Btc is just gradually gaining it's momentum. It is going moon!

It will be a welcome development if every countries adopt bitcoin as an international currency and if Lightening Network is fully deplored to solve the scalability issues such that transactions is instant and swift then I will say bitcoin is ready for the mainstream for any form of financial transactions eg payment for goods and services etc

Well, first of all, you need to clarify what we mean by the term "international currency". If we consider this from the point of view of whether states will use bitcoin in their international relations, then most likely this will never happen. They are already determined with their central bank stablecoins. It is these stablecoins that will effectively work for government international payments.
On the other hand, citizens can already use Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies for transactions to any country, and in this regard, we can say that it is used as an international currency.

Did not you seen that bitcoin already accepted world wide. And the last country name EI Salvador accepted bitcoin as their every sector payment system. Because they think, this is the time to teach people about bitcoin and show them the usecase of it. Bitcoin, for sure, will no longer become an international currency as a currency that is a means of payment in transactions between states. States have a good opportunity to use their CBDCs, as well as various inter-regional CBDCs. They will most likely be means of payment between states.

I believe that people have dwelled on this topic for a bit now and quite frankly, I don't think this will happen anytime soon that's if it will happen at all. I know most of us are thinking it will be better if Bitcoin was adopted as a global currency but we know the nature of Bitcoin and what a Currency stands for within every country is definitely different in the eyes of the Government that control their economy and Bitcoin will not give them the same leverage they have with Fiat currency hence the constant haterade for Bitcoin by world Government and if this is the case, how can Bitcoin be an international currency?
