But the erc-20 standard token has weaknesses such as when we send tokens to various smart contracts, tokens will be lost if we send the wrong token to a different contract address

I don't love etherium, its good for medium to large positions, but sending it back forth at amounts below five dollars gets costly.  25 to 50 cents per transaction is not bad, but ten of those is five bucks already.  Great for holding and future value though, as you said a ton of ICO's are using it.
