It's difficult mate. I don't believe waves  can defeat ethereum. Ethereum is the top of altcoins, at this year ethereum has shown good performance at market. I think it will take several years waves can be popular like ethereum. But, I doubt about it.

I agree with your opinion, I don't believe it will be too. Ethereum is still superior and has biggest communites  for altcoins. So, I don't think waves can defeat ethereum for few next year's. But at the coming future, every thing is possible. Let's see.
